Da war ich auch..... 1997 in Hamburg kurz nachdem ich den Film sah... und es hat mich über Jahre gepackt. Ich war so gefesselt und so emotional berührt... Als ich die Briefe las und die Glocke 🔔 sah hatte ich ein dicken Kloß im Hals.... ich wünsche mir so sehr das die Ausstellung noch mal kommt.....
Die kann gerne mal wieder kommen. Fand das damals wirklich gelungen. Vorallem in der Alten Speicherstadt, eine bessere Location hätte man nicht finden können. Ich würde aber sagen das damals der frisch gestartete Cameron Film auch einen ordentlichen Anteil am Erfolg der Ausstellung hatte.
Ich bin dort vor 25 Jahren zusammen mit meinem Vater gewesen. Ich war erst vier Jahre alt, aber ich kann mich noch ziemlich gut daran erinnern. Die Atmosphäre in dieser Ausstellung war einfach beeindruckend.
Vielen Dank fürs hochladen. War beim Besuch damals 8 Jahre. Die packendste, authentischste, emotionalste Ausstellung die ich je besuchen durfte. Schön noch ein mal diese Impressionen erhalten zu können.
Wow ich war damals 13 als ich bei der Ausstellung war..So ein unvergessliches Erlebnis . Die Funde , die Kleider .. Ich weiß noch was ich für Gänsehaut hatte , als ich den Eisberg berührt habe .. ich werde es niemals vergessen fir immer im Herzen ♥

I visited the Titanic museum in Orlando recently. A fascinating experience and somehow deeply emotional... looking at so many personal items that once belonged to so many of the doomed passengers and crew.

There are only a few small exhibitions left, most of the things have already been sold at auctions. Replenishment is to be expected when the parts inside the ship are recovered. The radio station can already be brought up, even if a hole has to be cut in the shipbuilding. Wait and see, rescue operations are usually only possible in July due to the weather. In addition, each action costs a fortune.
@@lollokasu actually i looked it up and by law none of the artifacts can be "seperated". Not to mention the only artifacts that have been collected have come from the ocean floor and not by entry of the ship. It is against the law to enter the ship and noone has entered it. Until this august they received permission from the courts to cut open a part of the ship and retrieve the communications system out of it.
Ich war damals ebenfalls dort. Ich würde so eine Ausstellung heute gerne meiner Tochter zeigen. Sie findet die Titanic sehr faszinierend, seit sie den Film gesehen hat.
Ich war damals 8 Jahre alt und erinnere mich noch, dass die dort einen riesigen Eisblock von mind. 3x2m aufgestellt hatten, in dem wie in einer Kletterwand Fingerabdrücke drinnen waren, an denen sich die Menschen festgehalten haben sollen, dass war schon ziemlich gruselig und ist fast das einzige, woran ich mich erinnern kann !
Ich war damals auch dort. Ich war 9 Jahre alt. Als ich diesen Film eben gesehen habe, kamen die Erinnerungen in mir wieder hoch. Ich kann mich an einen Raum erinnern, er war recht neutral, ich meine in der Mitte war ein Wasserbecken mit Exponaten und drum herum Sitzbänke. Was ich noch ganz genau weiß ist, dass in diesem Raum die Unterwassergeräusche der sinkenden Titanic abgespielt wurden... Ich kann mich so klar daran erinnern, ich höre es quasi gerade... Ich würde gerne nochmal heute diese Ausstellung besuchen, um sie einfach als Erwachsene erleben zu können.

Sehr schön. Ich war damals 21 u d war 4 mal in der Ausstellung. Und das mit 500km Anreise. Aber das war es wert. Besonders der Raum mit der Eiswand war beeindruckend. Habe noch Sachen von der Ausstellung im Keller.

Those are the binoculars that the lookouts would have had access to that night. Rather interesting that in a debris field that covers almost 10 square miles that they would be found and retrieved.
Bin ich der einzige der findet das früher Kreuzfahrtschiffe schöner waren und man sich zumindest für die Innenausstattung mehr Mühe gegeben hat als heute. Mal ehrlich die neuen Schiffe sehen aus wie eine vollgebaute Straße!!
1997, ist das tatsächlich schon lange her? An dem tag an dem wir da waren, war saumäßiges wetter, knapp über 0 grad, regen, windig.. und drin proppe voll. ich war 12 und war ein wenig enttäuscht darüber, was dort ausgestellt war. ich mein, ich wusste nicht so recht, was ich erwarten sollte aber einen seifenblock halter zu sehen, gehörte sicher nicht dazu. heute wünschte ich mir, diese ausstellung nochmal mit den augen eines erwachsenen sehen zu können. das hatte damals schon etwas "leicht magisches" aber ich war eben zu jung und das im ganzen wertschätzen zu können.. leider.
Ich war auch damals in Hamburg, nur hab ich echt eine andere Erfahrung gemacht. Daran hatte ich aber eigentlich kaum mehr gedacht. Dann letzten Sonntag kam der Film und ich hab ihn nach Jahren wieder gesehen. ( Hatten den sogar, als er nochmal als 3D Film in die Kinos kam, mit meiner damaligen Freundin gesehen) Und auf einmal BAAM habe ich mich wieder an die Ausstellung erinnert. ( Im Kino hab ich nicht an die Ausstellung gedacht und wenn dann vielleicht nur beiläufig erwähnt) Heute kann man ja googeln und jetzt wo ich das Video seh, erinnere ich mich wieder an den Tag und wie sehr ich davon fasziniert war. Ich war einfach hin und weg. Auch wenn es hauptsächlich Alltagsgegenstände waren, fand ich es unglaublich interessant. Dann diese Modele, vor allem das wie es unter Wasser aussieht, haben mich echt gefesselt. Einfach der Wahnsinn. Aber irgendwann ist diese Erinnerung daran einfach aus meinem Leben verschwunden und das schockt mich jetzt echt und finde es auch ehrlich gesagt traurig, wie so etwas Schönes einfach aus meinem Leben verschwunden ist und mich solange nicht mehr daran erinnert hab. Erschreckend wie sowas einfach aus dem Gedächtnis verschwinden kann ohne das man es merkt.

Aber hab auf einem Foto gesehen, dass ein Gebäude davon N.H.L Hinsch & Cons stand/steht. Bin leider nicht aus Hamburg daher kann ich das nicht mehr genau sagen. Schau mal bei Google.
That telemotor and the ship's bell had to be the center pieces of this exhibition. Talk about the ultimate symbols of what went wrong on that maiden voyage! The only thing that would be more striking would be a lifeboat but it's fairly certain the lifeboats have all rotted away or were destroyed.

@@ferrari2k Fleyer oder etwas ähnliches, Bücher schon gar nicht, gab es nicht. Das war eine Wanderausstellung, die rund um die Welt ging und für Hamburg noch mal um 4 Wochen verlängert wurde, da wurde schon vor Schluss viel wieder entfernt. Schon über 25 Jahre her, bin froh, dass ich die ganzen Originalteile sehen konnte. Heute ist fast alles in Auktionen verkauft.

It's cool and fascinating to see the artifacts. I just cant help but feel nothing should be salvaged from the ship. It's a graveyard. Its l the equivalent of grave robbing. I see the items and cant help but feel that these things were owned by the dead and should be respected and left in peace
I say save it all. Titanic will be relevant hundreds of years from now. By then, the ship will be a rust stain. There's a lot of lessons to be learned from titanic and we need physical manifestations to keep those lessons alive.
Yes pull SOME artifacts not all, it's still a mass grave site. Including being respectful to the articfacts and only keeping them displayed in museums. It is speculated that given the next few years all that is left of the wreak will be artifacts from the ship. Due to a metal eating bacteria that is causing the wreak to disappear.

It's a mixture of chemicals in the water which helps protect the metal, the water keeps air out as well. If the metals were in the open air they would corrode, become brittle and fall to pieces.
It prevents rust. I think it is not plain water, I remember in the 90's (maybe still nowadays) they put additives in the water which helps inhibit rust and degradation. Having the items in fresh air they will erode, become brittle and disintegrate.
They are so badly corroded that of they were suddenly moved from the environment theyve been aacustomed to for the past 106 years theyd decintigrate. So its safer to keep them in water, this phenomena is also a huge factor in why its impossible to raise a ship like titanic. The metal has just become to weak to be in contact with air.

Yes since 1985 they've collected 5,000 or so artifacts from the wreckage. Which isnt even close to whats left down there. Pretty much they have not gotten access to or been able to access 98% of the inside of the ship.
Hey, i was wrong! Actually NObody has gone into the titanic wreck at all! Under uk & us laws, nobody is allowed to go inside the wreck! All the artifacts that have been collected were already out of the ship! Laying all over the ocean floor. They did get permission to enter 1 part of the ship to obtain the communication system out of there this august! I guess upon further research, they decided to prohibit entry into the ship deeming it as a "gaveyard" and respecting the dead. So besides all the artifacts collected since 1985, only coming from the ocean floor, (fell out when ship snapped in half) , the entire ship itself has never been "entered" therefore 100% of the ship has NOT been touched! Amazing lol

Titanic had a few pairs. But they were all designated for certain officers. The lookouts designated pair was even on board but locked up. It was the key to the lock box that was missing, not the binoculars. An officer from the sea trials accidentally took it with him.
Mir ist grad was Merkwürdiges aufgefallen. Es wird doch immer wieder gesagt das Die Titanic nicht nur wegen dem Eisberg selber Unterging sondern auch weil sie den Berg zu spät gesehen haben. Da sie keine Ferngläser hatten, die seiend vergessen worden oder so ähnlich. Aber bei 2:00 das ist doch ein Fernglas. Wie kann das sein?
Der Ausguck hatte die Ferngläser nicht, das ist soweit richtig. Jedoch waren diese trotzdem an Board. Diese waren in einen Schrank eingeschlossen. Kurz vor Abfahrt wurde ein Matrose ausgewechselt dieser hatte den Schlüssel für die Ferngläser. In aller eile wurde allerdings die Schlüsselübergabe vergessen. Somit kam niemand an die Ferngläser ran.

They run electricity through the was in one direction then the other to stop the corrosion process.Depending on the size of the object it could take months to ten years for very large and heavy steel and iron objects.once this is done it's fine and only needs the usual TLC.If it's taken out of the water too soon it will disintegrate very quickly.

Ich wünschte so etwas gäbe es noch einmal. Sehr interessant! Allerdings finde ich es nicht gut, wenn persönliche Gegenstände, wie Zahnbürsten oder Socken, hochgeholt und ausgestellt werden. Mechanische Teile von Schiff oder allgemeine Sachen, wie die Glocke, Geschirr oder Plaketten, würden meiner Meinung nach völlig reichen.
Hm, so unterschiedlich sind die Meinungen. Ich finde gerade die persönlichen Gegenstände machen es nochmal greifbarer, dass da viele Leute auf dem Schiff waren und zeigen deutlich, wie diese lebten.
They tried to, but given it's safety record and modern safety standards it wouldn't be legal to float a ship like that again. Also the old techniques of building ships like that are not used today, there are some small specialty shipyards but they lack the production scale, space and staff to pull something like that off. I think the legality with regards to safety is the main obstacle though. It's a shame, I would love to see an old steamer sail again, they were all gone in my lifetime.

All of those artefacts belong at the bottom of the ocean. Not in a fish tank in a museum. These artefacts have no archeological value whatsoever and there was no justification for bringing it up from the depths other than to make a profit somewhere.

Everything you see in the exhibit are replicas .Specally the artifact that you see in the aquariums .

Ich habe die Ausstellung in Berlin 1998 gesehen, da wurde ich 7 Jahre alt.

Dann letzten Sonntag kam der Film und ich hab ihn nach Jahren wieder gesehen. ( Hatten den sogar, als er nochmal als 3D Film in die Kinos kam, mit meiner damaligen Freundin gesehen) Und auf einmal BAAM habe ich mich wieder an die Ausstellung erinnert. ( Im Kino hab ich nicht an die Ausstellung gedacht und wenn dann vielleicht nur beiläufig erwähnt)
Heute kann man ja googeln und jetzt wo ich das Video seh, erinnere ich mich wieder an den Tag und wie sehr ich davon fasziniert war. Ich war einfach hin und weg. Auch wenn es hauptsächlich Alltagsgegenstände waren, fand ich es unglaublich interessant. Dann diese Modele, vor allem das wie es unter Wasser aussieht, haben mich echt gefesselt. Einfach der Wahnsinn.
Aber irgendwann ist diese Erinnerung daran einfach aus meinem Leben verschwunden und das schockt mich jetzt echt und finde es auch ehrlich gesagt traurig, wie so etwas Schönes einfach aus meinem Leben verschwunden ist und mich solange nicht mehr daran erinnert hab.
Erschreckend wie sowas einfach aus dem Gedächtnis verschwinden kann ohne das man es merkt.

The only thing that would be more striking would be a lifeboat but it's fairly certain the lifeboats have all rotted away or were destroyed.
Two years ago when I was on a Titanic exhibition there was a complete replica of a lifeboat

@@ferrari2k Fleyer oder etwas ähnliches, Bücher schon gar nicht, gab es nicht. Das war eine Wanderausstellung, die rund um die Welt ging und für Hamburg noch mal um 4 Wochen verlängert wurde, da wurde schon vor Schluss viel wieder entfernt. Schon über 25 Jahre her, bin froh, dass ich die ganzen Originalteile sehen konnte. Heute ist fast alles in Auktionen verkauft.

It's cool and fascinating to see the artifacts. I just cant help but feel nothing should be salvaged from the ship. It's a graveyard. Its l the equivalent of grave robbing. I see the items and cant help but feel that these things were owned by the dead and should be respected and left in peace

I say save it all. Titanic will be relevant hundreds of years from now. By then, the ship will be a rust stain. There's a lot of lessons to be learned from titanic and we need physical manifestations to keep those lessons alive.

Yes pull SOME artifacts not all, it's still a mass grave site. Including being respectful to the articfacts and only keeping them displayed in museums. It is speculated that given the next few years all that is left of the wreak will be artifacts from the ship. Due to a metal eating bacteria that is causing the wreak to disappear.

Hi all,been to Liverpool and stayed in white star Office’s ( now hotel) engineers built it before going to Belfast to build titanic and Olympic.also going to Belfast next year to see birthplace of the ship and also have a hand written letter from Eva hart, last surviving member with memories of the ill fated ship.

That may not be the one off the bridge could be from the engine room when the ship opened up.

Why are some of the pieces kept under water ?
It's a mixture of chemicals in the water which helps protect the metal, the water keeps air out as well. If the metals were in the open air they would corrode, become brittle and fall to pieces.

Rust needs air. So long as the items are in water, and the water is deoxygenated, the artifacts will be preserved.

It prevents rust. I think it is not plain water, I remember in the 90's (maybe still nowadays) they put additives in the water which helps inhibit rust and degradation. Having the items in fresh air they will erode, become brittle and disintegrate.

They are so badly corroded that of they were suddenly moved from the environment theyve been aacustomed to for the past 106 years theyd decintigrate. So its safer to keep them in water, this phenomena is also a huge factor in why its impossible to raise a ship like titanic. The metal has just become to weak to be in contact with air.
@@themusicalpilot1382 Not quite accurate of the metal. The thicker parts have been cut once brought back up, exposing fresh mirror finish alloy. The matal is fine, just caked, it's the structure itself that's fucked. It can be brought up with electromagnetic propulsion, but not in our lifetime.

All of this was saved from the ship?
Yes since 1985 they've collected 5,000 or so artifacts from the wreckage. Which isnt even close to whats left down there. Pretty much they have not gotten access to or been able to access 98% of the inside of the ship.
Hey, i was wrong! Actually NObody has gone into the titanic wreck at all! Under uk & us laws, nobody is allowed to go inside the wreck! All the artifacts that have been collected were already out of the ship! Laying all over the ocean floor. They did get permission to enter 1 part of the ship to obtain the communication system out of there this august!
I guess upon further research, they decided to prohibit entry into the ship deeming it as a "gaveyard" and respecting the dead.
So besides all the artifacts collected since 1985, only coming from the ocean floor, (fell out when ship snapped in half) , the entire ship itself has never been "entered" therefore 100% of the ship has NOT been touched! Amazing lol

probably to preserve them. those artifacts have been under water for so long now that if they were exposed to the air it'd ruin them very quickly

Auf der Titanic Ausstellung in hamburg war ich auch schon mal in der spreicherstadt.... da konnte Mann 10 fennig in so ein Automaten werden und der hat da denn die Titanic drauf gestandst ...schön und traurig zu gleich... 😭🔨🔧🚢🔔

Titanic had a few pairs. But they were all designated for certain officers. The lookouts designated pair was even on board but locked up. It was the key to the lock box that was missing, not the binoculars. An officer from the sea trials accidentally took it with him.

Mir ist grad was Merkwürdiges aufgefallen. Es wird doch immer wieder gesagt das Die Titanic nicht nur wegen dem Eisberg selber Unterging sondern auch weil sie den Berg zu spät gesehen haben. Da sie keine Ferngläser hatten, die seiend vergessen worden oder so ähnlich. Aber bei 2:00 das ist doch ein Fernglas. Wie kann das sein?
Der Ausguck hatte die Ferngläser nicht, das ist soweit richtig. Jedoch waren diese trotzdem an Board. Diese waren in einen Schrank eingeschlossen.
Kurz vor Abfahrt wurde ein Matrose ausgewechselt dieser hatte den Schlüssel für die Ferngläser. In aller eile wurde allerdings die Schlüsselübergabe vergessen.
Somit kam niemand an die Ferngläser ran.
Sie hatten. Ferngläser, alles dürfen sie nicht glauben........
Aber bei 18. Grad minus sieht man schlecht mit einem. Fernglas!!!!!!!

Why some item keep.in the salty water?
They run electricity through the was in one direction then the other to stop the corrosion process.Depending on the size of the object it could take months to ten years for very large and heavy steel and iron objects.once this is done it's fine and only needs the usual TLC.If it's taken out of the water too soon it will disintegrate very quickly.

Ich wünschte so etwas gäbe es noch einmal. Sehr interessant! Allerdings finde ich es nicht gut, wenn persönliche Gegenstände, wie Zahnbürsten oder Socken, hochgeholt und ausgestellt werden. Mechanische Teile von Schiff oder allgemeine Sachen, wie die Glocke, Geschirr oder Plaketten, würden meiner Meinung nach völlig reichen.

Ich finde gerade die persönlichen Gegenstände machen es nochmal greifbarer, dass da viele Leute auf dem Schiff waren und zeigen deutlich, wie diese lebten.

Why not make titanic again
They tried to, but given it's safety record and modern safety standards it wouldn't be legal to float a ship like that again. Also the old techniques of building ships like that are not used today, there are some small specialty shipyards but they lack the production scale, space and staff to pull something like that off. I think the legality with regards to safety is the main obstacle though. It's a shame, I would love to see an old steamer sail again, they were all gone in my lifetime.

All of those artefacts belong at the bottom of the ocean. Not in a fish tank in a museum.
These artefacts have no archeological value whatsoever and there was no justification for bringing it up from the depths other than to make a profit somewhere.
