- In the past I've talked a lot about how to repair and restore various pinball components. Today I was confronted with a harsh reality: sometimes it may be better to replace than repair. Take a look at what I mean when I try to work on a heavily heat-damaged WPC dot matrix driver board.

Seeing as I have no experience soldering I'd go with a replacement board
I would check the Rottendog boards carefully and if you are using it for a repair on someone else's machine, let it burn in for a day or two. I have some of them that were DOA or died within a few days. They were declared "old stock" by the wonderful new owners of Rottendog and not warrantied.
Interesting.. I'll keep that in mind. I've heard some stories about some of their boards but I have not had any issues myself and I've probably installed at least 20 of them.
