I’m a native English speaker but have never learned this lesson in English grammar. By the end I felt like I fully grasped the material! I love that you speak very slowly and clearly, with plenty of pauses so the material can sink in. Even for native speakers this is too technical to comprehend if spoken too quickly. The examples were all very useful and the homework questions asking for personal examples helped to bring interest and ownership over the concepts. I subscribed and I’m excited to have such a great teacher teaching me grammar!
I am not native english but i am leaning it. But the problem is , you natives, speak very fast. it's not easy to understand you when you are talking. It seems what you speak and what you write is not same. When you write we understand but when you are talking we do not understand above all american people. However english is a nice language.
girl you literally saved my life. i have been struggling with tenses for months. so i couldn't learn other grammar subjects. i learned better in this 1 hour lesson more than my works for months. THANK YOU 💖
I get 12 out of 12 for the first test, and I get 11 out of 12 for the second test. You know what, the grammar is the most painful thing in learning english, and your videos are the cure of that pain. So, I can't tank you enough. You're helping me a lot for learning english; certain here, the place when I live, there no resources for learning. So, I really appreciat your effort. Your videos like the hope in this desert
Arnel, without a doubt you are a born teacher and teaching is your calling. You also demonstrate understanding of effective learning patterns, and you take your listeners through the easiest path to learning every topic. You are a teaching legend, living your purpose, we are blessed for it. We appreciate you so much, Thank you.
I don't know how she has so much air to speak. She is so fantastic, I love the way how she express and manages the class, I love the examples and the way that she is smiling all the time!
No hate to my teacher; I respect her so much, But I have to admit that your way of teaching and explaining is way more understandable. I have an English exam tomorrow and this video has prepared me to acquire all the tenses. Thank you so much!!
I have been working on my English language skills, both orally and in writing. Before the pandemic hit, I had been studying at the university as a student. By the end of this year, hopefully, I will be working at the call center as an English speaker.
Thank you for this helpful lesson. I really love your lectures. I have learned lots of lessons from you. I live in Afghanistan and I wish I could have these 61 pages of all tenses. I learn from you and then teach my neighbor teenage girls because they are abandoned to go to school by the Taliban government in my country. we are learning in hidden schools at our houses. We love you and thank you.
Honestly, one of the best classes I've ever watched on You Tube. Congratulations, I would like to know if you have an online course, I've had so many verb classes here in Brazil and none have been as enlightening as yours. Thank you very much
Agreed, Edson. She's amazing! Since you're looking for online classes and you're from Brazil: I have been taking lessons from an online course from N.Y. Check them out: KetchupOnEnglish.com Developed with Brazilians in mind! Extraordinary!
¡Gracias! I prefer to take your classes thar assist to presential class. I'm leaving my english school to watch your videos. You are one of best english teacher I have had.
I really loved this lesson. I will come back to revise it a lot of times! This is the best lesson on all verb tenses, and it's easy and clear to understand!
I had been finishing my work at the restaurant for long day , i have been watching your grammar for two weeks , by end of this year , i will have been looking for someone practice English with me ,and watching you ongoing, thank you so much my teacher 😊 Bahy from Egypt 🇪🇬
I've never had teachers. Therefore I've always had to study by myself. I could speak English correctly but my ability was mainly based on lots of input I was getting rather than deep understanding of the rules. I would not trust myself while speaking which always made me feel uncomfortable. I can finally feel relaxed and confident in what I want to put across while speaking. You've made a difference in this situation. Thank you.
I can’t believe it. I have been trying to learn tenses so hard. It is the first time I completed a test perfectly. I’m so grateful. Please take some more tests if it is possible for you.
I love your method, your passion, your enthusiasm and your energy that you put into your videos! One would be so lucky to meet you in person, Arni. Keep doing what you're doing. You're awesome at it, lady! I too teach ESL and, from time to time, I turn to your videos for inspiration. Be well.......and thank you so much for all your insights!
@@manoridickumbura6136 Yes energy! Did you watch this video? Ms. Arnel is an entertaining and dynamic person. Her method works really works for better memory retention. I suggest you search UA-cam for all videos related to "12 English tenses" or even "16 English tenses" and compare them with Ms. Arnel's "more energetic" presentation. You'll be surprised at the difference. I wouldn't just try to make her "feel better". I would rather encourage her using positive reviews to make more well-thought-out videos like this for the benefit of all ESL learners out there.

Arnel you are a miracle. I appreciate you so much.❤ By the way, in the first quiz I did not have any mistakes. In the 2nd one, I had only one mistake. From now on I am a great fan of your lessons.

A great thank to you Miss Arnel. Before the video I didn't even know what are tenses ? But now I am rocking in it . I have scored full in both the tests.
Thank you for this video, Arnel. I know it can be tough to get a better understanding of the tenses. I was recently abroad for an english-speaking exchange semester and still have my little problems by using the right tenses and grammar as well. I think you did an amazing job. For all the people who feel overwhelmed, I can tell you that using the right tense isn’t that important as you may think. The most important think is, that other people are able to understand you - even natives sometimes make mistakes - keep that in mind. 😊
I've really enjoyed this lesson. I got 12/12 on both tests. I'm fortunate I found your channel. I really appreciate you've taken some hours of your time and made this video for us.

Good work, nice workmanship and of course you have an advantage over others because you are sympathetic to it all. 👨💻🤝
Hi maam. How about the “I am studying tomorrow” is that a present continuous or future continuous l?
I think it is a present continuous because it is a future plan. A personal future plan.

Bahy from Egypt 🇪🇬
I've never had teachers. Therefore I've always had to study by myself. I could speak English correctly but my ability was mainly based on lots of input I was getting rather than deep understanding of the rules. I would not trust myself while speaking which always made me feel uncomfortable. I can finally feel relaxed and confident in what I want to put across while speaking. You've made a difference in this situation. Thank you.
@Anníe Smith yeah. These two channels are the best out here, imho.
Be well.......and thank you so much for all your insights!
energy ?? Don't try to make her feel better
@@manoridickumbura6136 go watch the video properly please

25:20 some verbs can be Static and Dynamic, but Love is Stative Verb that can't use in Present Continuous Tense
Great video as always!👍 I have made one mistake.

Perfect Continuous Tense
53:02 USE(S): an action continues up to another point | Emphasis is on duration, how long
The pie has been baking.
The pie had been baking.
The pie will have been baking.
54:04 ARNEL’S GRAMMAR WEB! (same for Present, Past, and Future)
If the verb is Dynamic and the action is ongoing use Present Perfect Continuous.
The guests have been eating all evening.
Else use Present Perfect. (Dynamic and the action is completed, Stative and the action is completed or ongoing)
The guests have eaten the main course. (dynamic verb | completed action)
I have been a dog walker. (stative verb | completed action)
I have been a babysitter. (stative verb | completed action)
I have been a nurse since 2015. (stative verb | ongoing action)
56:45 Present Perfect Continuous examples
The pie has been baking for 20 minutes and the kitchen smells wonderful. (Dynamic and the action is ongoing)
It has been raining non-stop. (Dynamic and the action is ongoing)
"Been" is an auxiliary verb and does not fit into the categories of stative or dynamic verbs by itself.
"Raining" (the main verb in this case) is dynamic because it describes an ongoing action or process.
58:30 Compare
Present Perfect Cont.: The pie has been baking for 20 minutes and the kitchen smells wonderful.
Present Perfect.: The pie has baked, cooled and is now ready to cut.
Past Simple: The pie baked beautifully yesterday and everyone loved it.
Present Cont.: The pie is baking now.
1:00:59 Exception | ‘Live’ and ‘work’ are dynamic verbs, but they can function similarly to stative verbs because they describe situations that don't often change. Therefore, the present perfect continuous or the present perfect can be used interchangeably with them.
Jane has lived in Canada for 22 years. *OR* Jane has been living in Canada for 22 years.
I have worked at this school for as long as I can remember. *OR* I have been working at this school for as long as I can remember.
1:01:37 Past Perfect Continuous (A past action continues up to another past point.)
When I checked on the pie, it had been baking for 20 minutes.
Use "checked on" to emphasize that you were actively monitoring the pie's progress over time.
Use "checked" to convey a more neutral action of inspecting the pie at that moment.
The river burst its banks as it had been pouring for days.
1:03:57 Compare
Past Perf. Cont.: When I checked on the pie, it had been baking for 20 minutes.
Past Peft.: By the time I took the pie out of the oven, its crust had turned golden brown.
Past Simple: The other day I was really in the mood to do some baking, so I baked a pie.
"The other day" is a colloquial phrase used to refer to a recent but unspecified day in the past.
Past Cont.: The pie was baking in the oven when we had a power cut.
not emphasizing the duration like past perf. cont. but it's giving the background action and is interrupted by another action.
1:05:11 Future Perfect Continuous
