what is my Gigabyte 5500 xt damage if only show display in few seconds and after that the fan start spinning in maximum speed i already change the thermalpaste?
There is no need for rework station and ultrasonic cleaner. Its more simple to find a shorted MOSFET. You make this simple task looks complicated and its abviaus whay. Fancy and clean lab. Good for you
Awesome work dude! Good luck with the channel! Out of curiosity, you mention not using hot air to remove mosfets and suggest using a station. What is a station?
Thank you. I used rework station for this job. Hot air gun will also do the job, but will make some visible or unviable damage to the surrounding components.
@@KrisFixGermany Chris, does your rework station adjust the area where heat is applied? I'm wondering how to achieve that on mine with 40x40mm top heater...
@@KrisFixGermany thanks. I was just wondering if voltage injection through diode mode can damage components, like the gpu for example, since some meters inject 2-5v, or if it's considered safe
I have kohm range on fuse z top that on your tutorial is fuse z bottom . Did u want to help me or what number of mosfet that handled by fuse z top ? Thanks
I have the Gigabyte Gaming OC 3080 12gb, same PCB and heatsink as this card. What is the most common failure for these models? I've seen quite a few videos replacing these 2 little 0 ohm resistors. Imagine your card dying because of that...
So uh btw we're did you get the schematic? The gigabyte 3080 and 3090 schematics got leaked a while back but getting any others is extremely difficult.. do you have access to any others?
Hey Kris! Watching your videos for awhile now and you are awesome.I have a 2070 super that does the same exact thing but im from the Caribbean. Is there anyway you can take a look at it if i get it shipped to you??
I have a 2011 17inch MacBook Pro that I damaged like an idiot as I was cleaning dust inside while the machine was in sleep mode. I touched somewhere in the PCB around the lower side near the battery, I did feel a small shock. The MBP fans can spin if you try to reset the SMD but the machine was never able to boot. Would you give it a try if I fill the form to send it to you? I know is an old machine but it is still in mint condition and I damaged it in 2013 so it was nearly brand new. I decided long ago I would try to repair it myself but that board is just too complicated and I don't have the schematic.
@@KrisFixGermany I just sent it today your way :) I really hope you can try to fix it in a video :) I wrote with details the history of the machine so nothing comes up as a surprise. :)
@@KrisFixGermany Hi. The laptops shipment is taking forever. Seems like the post was confused for a week but I now see is going your way. (MacBookPro 2011)
Do you have the schenatics for the lower and top Magic 2R2? Mines has resistance to 0 on the 20K ohms on both . and it beeps on diodide mode. And the 4th pin on the left notch shows 0 resistance Q fuse is blown showing 3 Kilo ohms And both Z fuses shows 2 kilo ohms
Great video 👍 When you removed the mosfet did you use a board preheater and an infrared heater to desolder ? As you said using hot air can damage the nearby components. How do you stop heating the surrounding components? Do you use an adapter to focus the infrared heat?
Thank you. I replaced this mosfet with rework station. There i can control very accurately every single parameter and also use very small nuzzles for this tight area.
Gigabyte engineers just put random stickers on my GPU and said I fixable ! And I see you makes me think gigabyte on fox things that are easy. I have the same card and it was thermal throttling so I water blocked it and they say it has physical damage and refused to repair.
Keep em commin brother. The space needs more GPU repair techs who know what they're doing
Good first video!
One of the best gpu repair channels you can find. Great work.
Tech cemetry, NorthWestRepair and KrisFix-Germany these are top gpu repairing youtube channels and KrisFix-Germany is on the top.
hope you come back to youtube with more content
With one hand you are finally leveling the playing field with other techs with 2 hands.
Great video, it good to see someone like you able to repair those expensive card. Im giving you a thumbs up. Have a nice day.
Now, I know where to send my card for a fix. Your going to be big. Don't forget us little people.
Insane quality and knowledge in the first video, one question, can we test this gpu without those mosfets in place? would it work?
Please show us in details how you use the rework station. Thank you,
Nice video but i didn't know they exist boardviews for gpu cards. Where can you download it?
Awsesome video! Great details for diagnose procedure and repair. Love the camera setup. Get well and I can't wait for your next videos
People are still watching. Yup I'm people. Thanks for these very informative videos.
wow the fuses of the same value : this is the university of repair channels!
I really love these videos! It must require some expensive equipment right?
Really nice fix. You earned a sub. I am pretty sure this channel will grow fast. Welcome from Germany 😉

Hey Kris. Do you know a method or software for testig the legendary Voodoo 5 5500 AGP card? Especially identifying problematic RAM chips. Thanks.

Nevermind that was a two day trip :D haha
Might jump head onto the offer I have on this defect & see if you can bring it back to life :)
I've never had experience with GPU before. 0.22 Ohm is normal for Core Power supply line????
What software do you use to see pcb connections ? As shown on : 5:22?

Using smaller nuzzles for the tight areas
For those who cannot afford the station, would covering the other surrounding parts with Kapton tape help?
@@M00nsave445 Doable but risky.
Is diode mode ever recommended in a gpu board, or resistance mode is actually better and safer? In which instance would diode be used in a gpu?
Diode mode is used to take fast measurement. Resistance measurement is more accurate

Hey great video, what was the cost of this repair ?
Thank you. You can check our prices hier krisfix.de/grafikkarten
Nice.
I have d6 error on motherboard msi x570s carbon max, 3090 FE. I dont know why.
How do you get board diagrams?
I thought that is company secret.
Hi there, where do you get your schematics?

And the 4th pin on the left notch shows 0 resistance
Q fuse is blown showing 3 Kilo ohms

When i direct Q fuse shows 0 ohms
Same as Z fuses. so i assume they normal.
i will keep investigating the 2R2 until i find the short
Was it shorted to gnd via core (high side mosfet) or was it low side mosfet shorted?
Amazing

Hi, nice video..I subscribed to your discord but I can't find any information where to find the boardview for the graphics card. Thanks
That is a pcb view you make it by your self by continuity test from a known good card
Woow schematic 😯
I get error 53 after rebolling what is the solution ?
Is there a simple way to test the core isnt atleast damaged before buying a card sold as defekt :)
Unfortunately there is no simple way. Resistance reading for PEX, 1V8 and Vram is good information for Nvidia cards.
