Hi Manie You are truly a gifted individual when it comes to the way you present and share your knowledge and research on CLIVIAS. You are probably one of the biggest assets to/ of Cliva communities and societies ! Can you perhaps comment or do a Video focusing on “myth or fact” when it comes to “dormancy” of Clivia Miniata (and other species perhaps). I get conflicting information from amateurs and breeders alike. Many thanks……
Hello Manie, wonderful information on your site. I was given a somewhat battered clivia five winters ago. I didn't know what it was and doubted it would survive but it as given me one huge flower each year and is enjoying its new home. It now needs to be repotted hence my search for information. The roots are breaking the pot so i will make the change after it flowers. Your lessons have given me the confidence to remove the little ones and try to expand the collection. Thank you very much from south east Spain.
Thank you for your message Lesley, it is always great to hear from fellow Clivia enthusiasts in other places in the world! Enjoy your Clivia is there in Spain 🇪🇸 Clivia Regards here from South Africa 🇿🇦 👨🌾, Manie
thanks for your video very informative. I'm going to start to follow your feeding techniques... My plants for some reason are developing brown spots on the edge of leaves, looks like something is trying to eat them.... I have removed the leaves that are like this as they are yellowing as well. Have you seen this before and is it a good idea to remove the leaves like this? thanks
Thank you I’ve learned so much from your videos! How often do you use the Multifeed? With every watering? How long and when do I start the dormant period since I’m in New Jersey, North America?
Hi Anne. I am glad you’re enjoying your clivias en my videos. They are such amazing plants! I give fertiliser roughly every 2 months Use a well draining and well composed medium, and water about weekly. Thats if its not raining. Also, adjust depending on season and temperatures. I keep the soil moist. Clivias don’t go dormant and I keep watering during winter as well, although lesser as they stay moist longer with the cooler temperatures.
