I think the reverse. It’s way to easy to destroy the B29. Especially with that ridiculous repair cost. I don’t even fly one but I’ve sure knocked them down surprisingly easily.
Non premium alternatives to the Ju288's gameplay style : MB174/175 (2 7.5 MGs or 20mm MG151 in front, 2+3 7.5mm MG turrets) and LeO 451 (1 7.5 MG in front, 1 20mm HS 404 +2 7.5mm MG in the turret). All those bombers are particularly fast and *somewhat* manoeuvrable (you can sometimes outperform fighters), and the french 7.5 performs surprisingly well, even at taking out bombers. Heaven forbid the 288 had forward fixed weapons. It would be the best HEAVY fighter in the game :D As it is, Ace the crew and max the gunner skills and it is a BEAST. Even jets fear this thing.

yesterday evening my squad and me pulled out the ju 288 c in 2-3 sim matches, result we annihilated the enemy airfield in 30 minutes each and i gained 7 vehicles from rank 4 and rank 5 +1,5m sl and the enemy... well lets say they couldnt do much else than be angry and... dance with us... we thaught many lessons that day
Operation Husky isn’t too bad for the Germans. Really it can be quite fun; all you need are a bunch of 50kgs, a squad, a reasonably fast bomber, and some luck. It takes 1-2 German 50kgs to kill the heavy landing craft, and as long as you stay in a group their AA guns won’t be as troublesome. I’ve also noticed that Allied teams regularly ignore people going for the landing craft, so you often don’t have to worry about interception.
Napalmratte I mean if you’ve played spits. They are far from broken (Atleast in the sense of being overpowered liek the Ju 288.) especially in sim. Not just me saying it. It’s people who play this game really well, and have been for years.

@@alvardo3000 sim is pretty much the only gamemode where they get to have a role without abusing the aircraft just to rush one bomb zone and then most likely die because a bomber in AB or RB is fresh meat for everybody

The damage mode of this thing is broken. It can take 5x more damage than a B29 and 4 of 5 fires go out.

That said if you take engine damage you better be pretty high and RTB, it can't climb or even fly on 1 engine real well.

And even if an enemy gets close, your gunners can make quick work of them. As a general rule however, bombers in sim are very powerful.
