Took me a few days to find the free time to watch this all the way through, but it was pretty entertaining. I hope you recreate this speedrun when Skywind is finished!
Thanks. The run was decent, could be way better though. Don't think max difficulty will be a thing as no one has cared to do that in Morrowind Speedrun history
@@volvulusx5043 Yeah, nobody really cares about the difficulty slider in Morrowind. It just turns things into damage sponges. Still, great run, one of my favorite games of all time, and I'm glad to see how popular it remains!
Question: Do speedruns specify what platform the game is run on? Because I believe OpenMW has significantly faster load times (and no slowdowns due to draw distance), so it should probably be considered it's own category, but I wasn't sure if that were the case. Regardless, great run!
Thanks, yes for the leaderboards it has to be on the original version of the game because openmw is pretty different than vanilla, especially when it comes to the way menus work
@@volvulusx5043 That's what I figured. I prefer OpenMW by a long shot, but with how different it is, even in subtle ways, you couldn't equate the two in speed running.
Wouldn't it be better to do all the selling at the mudcrab merchant since he has more money? I know he's farther away but with that speed you could get to him then almsivi away once you're done.
Nice, a run that isn't just flying to the end of the game. Not the biggest fan of those. Elden Ring any percent seems like morrowind any percent in the sense that most of it is just inputs, menus, and loading. Barely any real game play or even fun and engaging content, but people go nuts over it for some reason.
Well I guess the idea with those runs is to really to see just how quickly that particular objective can be completed. It's an intuitive thing to pursue. Those runs get a lot of views because it's easier to recognize how absurd the concept is based on the title. Just looking at the leaderboards for Elden Ring, the actual Any% category you're talking about is extremely unpopular in terms of the number of runners. So yeah, people don't really like to actually run that category, it's just a silly idea that has been taken to an extreme with game-breaking bugs that aren't used in other runs. I'm sure it's very difficult to do as well, which should be impressive. But if you asked each person who submitted a run for that category, "what is your favorite category to run," I bet none of them would say "Any% Unrestricted." Morrowind Any% is extremely optimized in its' gameplay. That is the interesting/impressive aspect of that run. But yeah, there's other interesting aspects to appreciate in longer runs like this such as the route and certain strategies here and there. I can't really take credit for most of this run's route. It's based on the work of an individual who used their intricate knowledge of various mathematical/problem solving techniques (as well as Morrowind, of course). You can read about it here: www.kotaku.com.au/2018/06/solving-the-travelling-murderer-problem-of-morrowinds-leader-of-every-faction-speedrun/
Why's that? The idea of creating a route to complete the set of objectives is naturally appealing. Also, it's a very technical game with its movement and menuing. It's nothing out of the ordinary to Speedrun. I've already played this game normally for hundreds of hours, this is simply a different way of playing that you would only do after playing normally.
super cool run, it's funny how 'no major glitch' morrowind runs look a lot like just playing morrowind very familiarly.

Make sure Skywind has the Boots of Blind Speed, levitation, and a lot of Sujamma, other things are not important. 🤣
Incredible run!
This is one of the coolest thing that i've ever seen on this game, amazing job man. Next step is max difficulty? :P

Very cool, are you created routs by yourself? or part of it was prepared by the community?

love it!
this is such a random question for such a random video, but do you still stream on twitch? checked latest videos, seems like its been a year or so
I haven't streamed in a long time, not sure when I will next
@@volvulusx5043 all good man, was just curious when i was searching for some nostalgia dopamine. good luck with whatever you're doing!

Problem with that is there isn't any way to rest after I use levitate.
I've seen a couple of runs and I've noticed people taking the boots of blinding speed, but I don't know why..
It's an item that gives 200 speed, the reason should be very clear, I'd think!

@@volvulusx5043 Never thought I would see people using graph to find the shortest way possible to do all factions in Morrowind 😂
These seem like major glitches
