- Using my Logosol M8 Chainsaw Mill. This is only the second time I've used it and I really enjoy it. This is a great thing for milling lumber for my own projects and possibly milling a specialty log for someone. I hope to use it more, but time is hard to come by for it. Honestly I haven’t had a lot of time to use it. I’ve got some pine trees to fell and I’m hoping to use it soon. Well built product. Very light but sturdy. I would recommend this mill to anyone but it is a little slower that a band mill, but that’s the enjoyment to me. Using the saw to produce lumber.

Nice set up! Do you find that hand crank is useful? Does your hand tire out. I'm interested in the farmers model which doesn't come with the crank but is available as an add on, but I can't tell if its worth it. Thanks
I am wanting to buy either this saw mill or the Farmers M8 which does not have the crank handle. Just wanting to know if the hand crank is worth the extra money
So after a few years, are you still using it? How well did it or is it serving you? Looking at one now
curious to know why you went with the Logosol M8 instead of the Farmers m8 saw mill. Been thinking about buying one or the other and thought with hands on experience you could convince me to spend the extra $1,000
The supports of the standard seem too far apart to deal with short logs. Is there a good way to mill short logs on the standard M8 logosol?

There really isn’t a good way to mill short logs on the M8 mill. I’m not sure how wide the main supports are on the farmer mill. The only thing I can figure is to rig up a carriage that would span the distance on the M8 that would support a short log but I would be worried about how you would secure the log to prevent it from moving. Hope this helps out.

No progress at this time. Life is crazy and just doesn’t allow any time to use the mill. I hope to get to use it soon. I have a project I’d like to build and need some slabs for the project. Maybe I can catch that on video soon.
