    Check this out, up North the ice fisherman who stay out on the ice when spring comes around wouldn't listen when they are told to bring the shanty in, the Coast Guard is now charging those folks if they have to be rescued. Ain't a cheap Sunday night dinner either...

    ADAM... First - Thanks again for stressing safety in boating. Second - How fortunate are we to have the US Coast Guard standing by to respond at a minutes notice, the USGS are bad ass!!! Amazing how millions of dollars of equipment and highly trained pro's that love what they do are right there when we need them..

    I got my gtx seadoo 170 and love it. I was on center hill lake TN. I try it out and had a blast. For safety there were plenty of boats around. I may bring my sos Bivy stick. Cell service is ok. I been thinking of a wetsuit for colder riding do I can run longer in the year. I type up seadoo and your channel pop up and your videos are very good informative and entertaining as well.

    Always carry a PLB personal rescue beacon (free from subscription) and keep your details updated with the coastguard. They are available on Amazon for under 100 dollars.

    USCG service looks second to none! Wow! To be there in 30mins using air and sea rescue is incredible and will certainly be a life saver. Maybe the device needs updating to a long press button or something like that.

    So sorry to hear about your back issues Adam. When you jumped off that high cliff on Catalina I instantly thought that with your previous back issues the week before, that it would certainly scrunch a few discs down your spine. It literally made me wince watching you do that! Chiro time and rest for sure. Hope you’re better soon and back to your adventures in good form.🥰👍🏻🥰

    We will go there and look for you, if you activated you beacon. make sure you have the proper equiptments just incase of any emergency or life treatening and make sure your VHF handheld radio has MMSI rather than nothing specially if your going on a long trip on and off the ocean on jet ski always used your proper gear PFD./Vest uscg rated, flares, air horn, orion safety alert 12gaug ,fire extinguisher, blowing whistle. Always always equip yourself properly. A long time ago as a Jnr soldier aged 15 we went to the Isle of Skye. It was May so not great weather but one morning we went canoeing in the sea. Now I had never been in a canoe but thought they where super steady, we where told how to escape if there was a problem. Anyway off I paddled enjoying being in the canoe but I realised I had paddles out too far and tried to get back, all to no avail, now I was very fit as we where in the Jnr Para Coy so lots of daily physical training but try as I might i couldn’t get closer. I called out but was told keep paddling which I did for around 25 mins and the sea was getting really rough when a wave flipped me over. I tried to get it too right itself but too no avail so I pulled the cover off so I could exit the canoe but my leg got trapped on one of the supports so my torso was one side and my leg the other. Try as I might i couldn’t get my leg released and my life jacket failed to inflate so the canoe was dragging me down with it. We had a rescue boat but the Officer in charge of it was acting the loon and flooded the engines. So by this time I,m exhausted, I have been in the sea ( The North Sea which is freezing) for over an hour and I just gave up, I was soo exhausted fighting too get a breath I thought this is it and you know when people say your life flashes in front of you well it does and I wasn’t scared I just felt warm and serene. When all of a sudden I felt a hand on my life jacket and I was hauled out of the water, onto a nearby fishing trawler. And you know in movies when someone pushes on your chest a spout of water cones out, well it does. Lol.. anyway we lost 3 canoes that morning and too cap it all off, the lorry we where being driven back to camp in crashed! The only thing I suffered from after the incident was a very high temperature when I caught the flu out of it all
    So make sure your equipment is fit for purpose, understand your own limitations and make sure you don’t have an idiot in charge of any safety equipment
    PS. Sorry it was soo long a story

    As a former paramedic…I’d rather have an oops than someone not be able to call…then be in an absolute disaster with a bunch of people calling in when it’s too late…I’ve always told people…I’d rather have you call in by mistake (butt dial) than it be a total disaster…it also gives the kids a chance to practice…

    Great story, wonderful outcome, and it shows that your educational Video actually has great value.
    Off Topic: I am one of those people who watch UA-cam Videos at home on my PC, connected to a TV.
    And that´s where you realize how utterly *stupid* vertical filming is and looks. It makes NO sense whatsoever to film in portrait mode.
    Yes, i know what Instagram or TikTok are, i don´t live under a rock, but its sill nonsense. It cuts off A LOT left and right.
    Have people completely lost the ability to turn their phones by 90 degrees and film ... horizontally ??
    Vertical filming, by far the *dumbest* trend in recent years.

    • @AdamSwords
      @AdamSwords  2 роки тому +1

      Lol. Just a sign of how lazy we get that we don’t even want to turn our phones 90 degrees to watch content.
