@@homestoker2410 Let me ask you this? Have you had your HUDL film evaluated yet? Once you do that, that will help give you direction so that you're noticed by the right coaches.

I came to this video looking to see the difference between football "star ratings" and baseball rankings. My son plays baseball and usually the videos I watch about the ranking system for baseball, between Prep Baseball Report and Perfect game, the content creators say most recruiters dont care. As the uninitiated in the football star world, I was looking to see if the same thing applied. So pretty much its all for show and a business. Maybe its my thought process fighting back against this idea that ranking systems mean little to nothing, but wont some notoriety get you some fresh looks if youre high enough? My son plays(ed) football as well, possibly could have gotten stars if he done the showcases/combines like he did for baseball. The only thing he really lacks is a good vert. I know there are hidden gems out there, people who cant spend or dont know about the showcases/combines and only play school ball, so a rating or ranking is only good against those who also participate in the events to show off metrics. So other than the sending videos, playing along side another highly recruitable athlete, wouldnt the rankings be worth it to get your name out there?

    Good stuff.
And how many 5 Star athletes completely TANKED.
Alabama or Georgia could give two sh$?s how many stars a rock solid, well disciplined player has. They want to see game film.

As imperfect as the star system and individual recruit rankings are with as much talent that falls thru the cracks, the system for team and class rankings is much more sound. The proof of this lies in the fact that since the BCS era only clemson has won a national title without landing top five recruiting classes the three previous seasons or more.

Bro stars don’t matter man. You gotta have offers to get stars in the first place so it rlly don’t matter. But you better be a dawg, make as many close friends as possible on your team(who knows they may get big time offers and recommend u to one of the coaches interested in them) go to local camps and run a hood 40 because who knows the recruiter or coach may pull u off to the side and talk to u about wanting to move forward recruiting you. (don’t go to the Alabama camp man it’s gonna be about 2000 people out there (NOT EXAGGERATING) there and you will not get noticed . Go to shoe camps, Nike, adidas , under armor and run a good 40 time! Also make a good highlight tape, don’t show your plays that you made in order week to week. Coaches usually only watch the first 30 seconds of your tape and that determines if they wanna keep watching or not. So (SHOW YOUR BEST PLAYS FIRST!!!) Make a list of 20 d1 schools
20 d2 schools and some naia schools. Go to their athletic website and find the position coaches, head coaches, or recruiting coordinator (if they have it) email. Email them a little bit about you your intangibles height , weight, even drop your phone number in there. Also put a link to your highlight tape in the email. If you get a response and they invite you to there camp because they like your film, then show up and perform. Also try to find the person that invited you so you can build a relationship with them . Also Follow coaches from schools you like on twitter!!! Message them the same exact thing and if it doesn’t let you message them, email them! Reply to me and let me know if you have what it takes or if you already have balled out and your able to show your film!

@@goatifiedvault1800 "go to local camps and run a hood 40 because who knows the recruiter or coach may pull u off to the side and talk to u about wanting to move forward recruiting you"
Solid advice. This is EXACTLY what happened to my boy. He showed out a little but no one actually approached me until they clocked 40s. If i could add on thing though, AAU and private HS dgaf but EVERY college coach asks the same question... "GRADES?" What they really mean are grades AND SATs though. I was actually surprised because I thought that secret was already out. Grades are what prevented our best players in the hood from playing in college a generation ago. Unfortunately, I guess it's still an issue...
      But your post was excellent.

@@coltononline that is also a very big thing. I’ve had friends in the past that were dawgs . Got pulled out of class by d1 coaches and they talked to them about recruiting and then asked “how are your grades”. They had to be honest and tel them they weren’t doing the best and the coach left right then and there . Said have a nice week and left. So grades are definitely a HUGE part of being recruited
