Sir i have one objection on your suggestion about Tyre pressure. While driving on highways and expressways due to friction Tyre gets heated and pressure will increase ( simple thermodynamics) and it may be dangerous, so better approach is to maintain the mentioned air pressure and rather than driving continuously just take small 15-20 mints brakes after every 100 kms or 2 hours.
Absolutely correct comment regarding tyre pressure. Just keep exact what the tyre co recommends. Less pressure gets increased in long drive if your tyre is ok that is without leaks
@@automobile7 nitrogen is a specific case. Nitrogen not avilable everywhere. I mentioned situation with normal air which is the case with 95% car bikes
Tire pressure should never be low. As you mentioned, simple thermodynamics.if a tire has low pressure, its sidewall will expand and retract more leading to heat generation. The sidewall of a tire is its weakest point, and if it heats up, it will expand and eventually result in a tire burst. On the other hand, a tire can withstand three times more pressure. Just check the kPa written on it.
tire pressure can go up to 60 psi or even 70 after a non stop drive for three hours on a highway at 100 kmph speed. Check the tire pressure and reduce it ( deflate them) if the pressure is higher than 35psi. I travelled from Kashmir to Kanyakumari , all over India , several journeys by car with family and also alone ( SUV SANTA FE AND SKODA YETI) and my experience had been problems with deflated tires. At one time, the tire was cut by rim running on it for some distance completely deflated.. it happened twice in my journeys. I advise that you fit new tires for long journeys if the tires had already been running for 35000 km and/or above and remember this is must be done because out of road accidents ( about 3 lakh 20 thousand people died in road accidents in India in year 2022 year alone ) 3 out of ten ( 30 percent ) did happen because of bad , worn out tires. Tires would develop bends, they become hard and also lose grip as they age through the time. Second care is about eatables, snacks, chocolates, biscuits, drinking water, pepper spray, butter fly knife, butane stove, tire inflator, tire pressure monitor. You must always carry cash which is a must and hide it in the car , tool box is better place to hide cash which should be enough for fuel diesel or petrol to reach back home. Second problem was at one time while returning from Sikkim , one of the head light was burnt and Hyundai work shop near Vishakhapatnam had no bulbs in stock.
nice tips.. thanks.. I use nitrogen in tyres.. so does it expand while running at 100-120kph? will be covering entire Thackeray Expressway in a single stretch plus onward journey.. car is XUV 500.. thanks..
One important thing that I do before going on long trips / driving in night - I carry a small bottle of Colin Spray and old newspapers. Before switching on the headlights, I clean the windscreen with Colin and newspaper. I never use cloth to wipe the glass as it leaves marks and makes night drive difficult.
add shampoo type of cleaning chemical in the windscreen wash pump located nearby engine bay with a blue cap. First spray out all of waste water and fill one small cup of washer fluid and then fill with mineral water. carry tissue paper roll with you.
Apki preparation for a road trip by car has helped me a lot. Electrical wire aur ek knife plastic tape hona bhi bahat jaroori hai and some of the fuses are necessary to be carried. Thanks.
You should have fuses though company providing only one of each. I had to change two times same because of electrical problem. One light 12 volt input.1 umbrella. 1 torch which have sit belt cutter & glass breaker. I am carrying in my i10 always
Thank you for the information. Very straight forward and simple vlog. Keep up the good work. Just came across some of your vlogs and they are very interesting 🙏🏽👍🏽.
best is to carry an inflator, a puncture repair kit and a rope for towing. You can also carry bottles for washing and a cloth for dusting the car. That's enough for any extra luggage imo. He's carrying extra nuts in case one of the nuts get lost. That's a good precaution. But other than that, you don't need to carry anything. A puncture patching kit won't take any space of your boot. You can even slid it inside one of the seat's pockets. A rope also won't occupy that much space. But, an inflator will definitely acquire some space which might be problematic if you have a lot of luggage. Buy the one which is smaller and still efficient and good enough to fill up all your tyres without taking too long. I won't recommend you those mini pocket sized inflators. If the boot is full, you can place it on the boot tray. I'd try to squeeze it somewhere inside the boot though. We've been travelling distances like 1000km or 1200km on a tour in our car. We never needed any steering lock or extra led bulbs or any polishing gear. Just make sure that you carry a rope big enough and also some pliers to cut it. Once, our car's bottom got scraped by an illegal speed bump and the plastic below the bumper started hanging. We had to find a mechanic to get it fixed the next morning. We could have fixed it temporarily if we had some rope to tie up the hanging plastic.
It is helpful if the tyre gets flat, and it is a lonely road you can fill it and drive to a safe place and repair it. very helpful in case of tubeless tyres. I have faced it once.
A very very Happy New Year Ravi sir!! You are a multitalented person to sum up. It's a very useful video for those planning a long car trip. I have a request sir. Plz, make a video on how you shoot your trip videos and edit them like which mobile/camera, gimbal, camera stand mic etc you use during the trip and which editing app you use for editing the video. Hope, you will oblige! - Rajiv (Senior Faculty (biology), Narayana IIT-NEET Academy, Jamshedpur)

Only 1 way get tyre pressure 1 less than given
It will not increase if you fill the Nitrogen 😊
