I walked all of the AT in PA. back in the summer of '76 and there was so much rock on the trails that if we found a little patch of dirt we'd just stand on it for a few moments to rest our weary soles. I also remember running out of drinkable water one day up there, not fun.
What lovely colors! I love fall and spring too. The color and scents of each have their own charm. The warm autumn sun and the sound of only nature is so calming. Beautiful video!!!
Like the new camera. Pictures are clear and sharp. Also noticed the new hat! BTW the only time falling leaves hitting the ground make a pleasant sound is when you don't have to rake them up.
That was super fantastic. This camera is so much better how crystal clear is it. Loved the crunching of the leaves as you walk along. Autumn is my fave season, while Spring is pretty allergies are not. I so enjoyed that, thanks for taking me along and p,ease stay safe and take care
I grew up with French Toast cooked on a griddle - not baked. When I see a Hickory in Autumn color, it reminds me of French Toast - that eggy yellow with dark toasted patches. Lindera is familiar from my teenaged weekend horseback days - used to be along the trails, and remember the camphor-scent of leaves bruised by the horse's passing.
I was there the following day, the next sunday I went to the cove mountion shelter ,I think that"s around where rocksavania starts, enjoy all your videos
Your new camera certainly makes a difference to audio and picture is so much better! Lovely to see the leaves falling as you are walking along the trail and hear the leaves crunching under your shoes always love that sound. We are coming into our Summer and so soon will be too hot to walk our trails here in the Sth West of Western Australia. So may have to be up very early in the morning to walk them. Longest walk we have done is 7kms which is 4.35 miles but enjoy being out and walking in the forest, so quiet also. Look forward to your next video Cliff.
Great video. One of my favorite trails. You just missed the Cumberland Valley overlook if you would have walked another 1/4 mile South of the shelter. It has a nice stone bench for resting and having a snack.
What a beautiful day to hike on this trail . Enjoyed the view of the woodlands and seeing butterflies, grasshoppers and those gorgeous golden trees . Thank you for taking us along with you Saturday hilke
Wow. Even i noticed upgrade in video before you explained new camera. Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY With election almost forgot. Remember it is first week in November like my dad's. 😀🍨🍦🍧🎂
I love you stopping to look at a grasshopper. Years back, my SO was watching me cut the lawn on a tractor, and was baffled when I stopped for a long period and later asked about it. I was watching a praying mantis cross my path and was waiting for him/her to finish crossing. Couldn't see any reason to destroy the journey;
Hi Cliff, the picture and sound quality of the camera is awesome, it really picks up every little sound like the rustling of the leaves in the tree's and your feet walking through them. The quality that you get with the picture on close up shots is stunning, those butterflies you caught were so beautiful and crisp. A definite big thumbs up from me, what a great camera. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx💖🦋🍁
That really has a crisp, clear picture. Very nice! And it’s so calming to watch this. Very much needed right now. Plus I heard a chickadee. One of my favorite birds 🥰. Thanks for taking me along! God Bless! 😊
Just gorgeous hike!! That red crimson leave was so beautiful. Love your new camera, it is so clear! This was absolutely beautiful Cliff! Glad Naomi has recovered & up for the trip. Thanks. Take good care.🍁🥰
I just hiked up Blue Mountain to Flat Rock on November 1, my last full day back in PA. It was cold, drizzling, foggy and windy at the overlook. It was great to be back.
If I can remember correctly that shelter has a large composting outhouse that you can see from your video known as The Taj Mahal. Maybe somebody can confirm this? I hiked to this shelter for an overnighter and parked in a lot off of Sterretts Gap using the Tuscarora Trail. When I got out tge next morning my car was gone. Apparently the guide I had used was old and the lot was no longer available for public uses! Lol. That was an interesting adventure trying to locate my car. Great video Cliff. And be careful where you park. I may check this route out very soon. Thanks.
I noticed some of the trail went through people's land. How did you get them to open up for hikers? Where I live, we tried to make a rail trail into hiking paths, but the landowners said no and, filed suit. It was a big fight and now no nice country areas to hike. Sad really.
It’s the Appalachian Trail which is a National Scenic Trail. The trail traverses quite a bit of private land, especially in the Cumberland Valley. The trail right of way is maintained by the Federal government.
Have you been to General Francis Nash’s grave in Towamencin/Kulpsville Pa? Its close to where i am from (Harleysville) and I feel that it doesn’t get the publicity that I feel it should given that he was 1 of only 10 generals who died during the revolution. Not to mention Nashville Tennessee is named after him.
@@thewanderingwoodsman7227 If you ever are driving down or up the northeast extension (i 476) pull off at exit 31. The Grave is in the Towamencin meeting house cemetery. George Washington attended Nash’s burial ceremony in the days following the Colonials loss at Germantown. The continental army stayed in the fields adjacent to the meeting house on the other side of the highway.
Wanted to say thanks for stopping and chatting with me on this trail that day..definitely re-energize me for my return trip to Boiling Springs; 33 mi total, but the views, animals, trees, creeks, forest colors made it worth it! Like I told you on trail, the videos inspire me to keep going!
I have the Sony ax 43. I made 4K videos and when I transferred the SD card 4K videos to my iPad the footage came out very bad. I have the correct equipment but why does the footage look so bad? Do Sony products not work with Apple iPads? Do you edit on tablet or desktop or laptop or something?
georgous would love to pitch a tent in that beautiful landscape. its so beautiful. One thing I noticed is not so many big rocks on the walking path. Is it that some mountians have more rocks than others? Really interesting how God planed this world. Many thanks.
Hello Cliff, I am wondering how you keep the camera so steady when you are at max zoom? Do you have to use a tripod or is it just the stabilization built into your new camera?
Go to flint valley it’s the most beautiful valley in Snyder county and beautiful look out on the Schaffer hill and dump hill so beautiful check it out plz
Took that hike today! Not much color but the view of the mountain thru the trees ...amazing!!!
Awesome beauty thank you Cliff 😊
New camera is perfection.
Thanks Cliff and you sound great and look clear.

They've removed all of those rocks since then.

It was a beautiful day and fall woods!!! Awesome new camera!!!

Wow the quality is so clear. Nice camera Cliff. (Johnny Y)
That trail looks so narrow in the beginning! In the woods it looks like the leaves are trying to hide the trail.
I was there the following day, the next sunday I went to the cove mountion shelter ,I think that"s around where rocksavania starts, enjoy all your videos

Sadly no more wineberries at this time of year for Cliff to eat along the way.

Is that the stock microphone or an addition?

I don't film in 4k just 1080p. You may need to upgrade your SD card, not all can handle UHD 4k video. Otherwise I'm not sure what to tell you.

Some mountains are definitely more rockier than others.
Also wanted to ask.... Is that a Peak Design Capture your DSLR is hanging from? Peak Design makes good stuff.
Nope

Hello Cliff, I am wondering how you keep the camera so steady when you are at max zoom? Do you have to use a tripod or is it just the stabilization built into your new camera?
This camera has an internal Gimbal for stabalization.
Also wondering if u should be wearing orange...
The sound seems different. What kind of microphone are you using? Is it the same one?
It's the same microphone (Nikon Me-1), the sony just works better with it.
