You weigh 9.4 stones... Christ that is light. I'm hovering around 4.1 w/kg right now but I'm 80kg @ 6ft tall. Hoping to push my w/kg up to around 4.5 by losing 5kg and upping my power a bit.
@@loc9588 unfortunately I ended up going back up in weight due to disruption with training. I’m just starting a nutrition plan now with the aim of getting sub 80kg. My weight is laughable right now (heavy) but shouldn’t take long to correct.
Im a xc rider not a road cyclist but right now im at about 4w/kg at 95kg and 1.93cm and im trying to get to around 5 but i have no idea how, i got to 4 just by riding and doing mamual labour Any tips
Impressive FTP Charlie you must be talented or got good gene to achieve over 5w/kg. I have been cycling /commuting for 4 years but my ftp seems stuck at 210watt/60kg = 3.5 watt/kg. Could you please share what is the best and effective way to raise ftp? How much time do you train on zone 2, 3, 4 , 5, 6 or sweetspot? Thanks in advance
I find for ftp it depends how much time you have. I have over 10 hours a week so spend my time in z2 or intervals at z4/5 . My favourite intervals for FTP are 4-6 * 8min intervals at FTP or just above. Start at 4* 8min at ftp then each week move up reps or intensity. If I had less time I would do sweetspot intervals spending between 40mins -1 hour in each session. Eg 2*20 or 3*15. You can do these back to back for up to 3 days as they are not too taxing. Then add in one vo2 max sesh Eg 4*6min efforts once a week. But main thing is consistency so if you can only do 2 interval sets a week then do that consistently than doing 4 some week and none the next. Hope that helps
Im 17 now started structured training 5months ago have 4.3w/k now and a vo2max of 70ml/kg ...ftp is 255-260 (60kg) looking for 5w/kg as well
16 right now, in structured training right now with 244w ftp @62kg (3.93w/kg)
cheers !
AureSK great ! Go for 4 now ^^
I’m 16 about 8 months of riding for fun (I was fat) and 4 months of training, I’m a 3.9W/KG (210W at 53KG). I hope to make it to 4.5W/KG this year..
Have you seen an increase in VO2 max after training? I tested mine about 2 months ago and it was only 64ml/kg
Damn lot of skinny boys. I am 17 years old and have a 290-300w ftp at 60kg. Started training last year

@@CharlieCarbsandCycling Will try to implement it. thanks.
what do you think you would run in a 5k race?
I have no idea tbh. I used to run quite a lot when I was young but stopped around 13. Can't remember what times I used to do.
Can you do what you eat in day? What is your usual daily diet
Vid out today on what I get up to in a day and what I normally eat
@@CharlieCarbsandCycling ahhh brilliant I need to loose bit of timber
Never do any sprinting?
Wont help much when your target is to increase your FTP. It's best to do intervals with a duration from 5-10 minutes
6 watts per kilo who do you think you are Richie Porte??? Lol. 300 watts
If you come to shanghai hit me up 🤙
