To me the most amazing thing about Boca's choreo is that it actually allows Siyeon a space to recollect herself and sing and hit those notes without a care in the world. It's something that you don't see a lot but it's the proper way to do things.
yeah also the background track is still tuned for jiu actually so it will be difficult for Handong to find the right key cause on stage instruments sounds and echo can be very different from practice rooms so for her first comeback stage it is actually awsome I personally can't keep my eyes off her she is so stunning
I'm not going to lie, but when I watched this live, I had to wipe tears from my eyes so I could enjoy this. All of Handong's lines were perfect, the choreography was perfect, everything about this was perfect. This was only a taste of what the concert is going to be like, and I'm going to make sure to bring tissues this time.
Exactly! We all thought exactly that Handong came back with more confidence in stage! Also in "Scream" I was also soooo surprised she took this part. Hope they're going to use her lower register as well because it's quite interesting and pleasing. TLDR Notice: Handong's part and lines are there as for what I've heard from one of their V-Live like it was there for Handong but someone has to fill in for her but now that she's there that's hers even with the dance you will notice that there's always a gap or a space for one person and that's Handong's. And as for remake the songs and insert handong I don't think that will happen no matter how much we want to hear Handong's voice that would probably never happen because they already released the albums and it will not be fair for those people who already bought the album 😂 by the way that first part where Handong did Jiu's part was really meant for Jiu but one time Handong was asked what's her favorite part of scream and she immidiately answered Jiu's part 😂 and I think Jiu gave that part for her because Handong said she likes it so much 😂 Jiu is really kind and generous to all the members that's why I think she gave that to Handong and she really missed Handong so much. There's so much to anticipate in the next album! Handong is back and I'm thinking what you're thinking also. It will be Handong's era next album! HFE or Dreamcatcher Company should capitalize the fans craving for Handong and I'm pretty sure that the new InSomnias born during or after Scream is also looking forward seeing and hearing Handong in the next album 😂 even I was shocked when I first watched the video and I counted 7 I was like "wait 7? Chances are they might have a repackaged album if fans demanded it. I could see it happening especially in Dystopia series. Just imagine a repackaged album with Handong in it. Insomnias would buy them without hesitation. So there is a chance we will get that! We fans might have got the album already but we aren't complaining if we getting a repackaged OT7. It won't be unfair for us, the more albums they give, the more we are willing to get and support no matter what. Also, yeah, I believed in their vlive before that the lines Handong got are actually planned for hers. I don't think JiU just willingly gave hers to Handong. It was definitely meant for Handong from what I understand and they were just singing those part for her until she comes back.

It was certainly something to get used to, but when Dongie busted out her first line in Boca, it was like, this was it. After a full year without her, she's finally back and these songs are going to be sung as they were meant to be sang. I know you're a baby InSomnia at this point, but for those of us who suffered through Dongie's artifically Covid-extended sabbatical? This was super emotional. The girls are back in full force, Dongie's more confident from her experiences in Idol Producer/Youth With You, got a solo song under her belt, and all is right with the InSomnia world. She's back right at the time they're exploding in popularity, too. I cannot wait for an OT7 EP featuring Dongie's re-recorded vocals, and the eventual Dystopia 3.
Dongie's vocals are softer in a different way because her vocal tone is way darker than Jiu. Jiu's voice reminds me of an anime character. It has that cheerfulness. Handong's tone reminds me of like dark chocolate
You're right Handong's voice a lill' weak at the beginning of the perf. But it's okay and you will notice as the performance goes on her vocal gets stronger and stable, specially in Scream(her last part in 🤘 is ❤️). maybe because she's a Lil nervous for her first performance as she mentioned in their recent Vlive that she's Completely nervous for this perf. Nonetheless, I really really love seeing the whole gang performing again.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
she had to be so nervous, her first performance with the group after a year, her first performance of these two songs when the other girls already have the experience of performing them... and she also had to practice for this in so litle time!!! all in all she did so so well
@@angiehdez22 Yeah, she mostly learned Scream from watching the masked dancer in the video, and she learned the choreo for Boca in her hotel room mostly from drawings on her tablet. That's some dedication, and she did brilliantly. 😁
@@angiehdez22 Right!!! That was an awesome perf from Handong considering the amount of time she had practiced for singing and dancing, and thats not the only thing she did for the past few days, there's a couple of other things too.
I may be wrong, but it seems that her mic was with a lower volume than the rest. I think (and again, I may be wrong) that the back track still doesn't have her voice in it, so her vocals sounds "weaker" than the rest, that have a little of back track to support (not that any of them need it)
Handong got Jiu's, Siyeon's and a bit of Yooheon's lines in Boca and Jiu's and Sua's lines in Scream. New distribution of the two songs is quite fair I think but it does feel very unusual to hear Handong sing Jiu's part in Scream for now. PS. In the moment when you got confused in Scream, I think it was Siyeon singing already, not Handong.
Her voice at the very end of the BOCA stood out to me the most. It got the same tone as she did in Deja Vu. Gotta use more of that kind of notes for her tbh. It seems like she's nervous and her voice were a little weak on the first part but as the performances get going, her voice found stability and stronger. I really can't wait more of her! I'm really hoping she would be the center for the next comeback. Also, she stood out the most I think because we haven't seen her and she's so tall so that's why! But that confident she got is so much better than before. And her visual just went up the notch. Having her make up style changes like that really suits her more. And arghhhh I think she's my 2nd fav visual after jiu.
i feel like Bocas distribution was a little impromptu since i felt it was written for 6 but Scream was something like what they really wanted with Handong because the flow actually felt new and refreshing with HanDongs vocals on par with Suas.
I'm so glad they gave Handong lines. They could have easily just had her learn the choreo and dance with them on stage. It just shows how much their company trusts and respects their idols.
I don't mind the pausing tbh. It's like we're freaking out with u 🤣✊ . Yeah it's like Dongie confidence tripled when she come back. Next album will be amazing!!
Also, Handong has said on a few occasions that with the members her heart feels secure and safe, so this first OT7 performance was really touching. She’s finally home!
I also hope they will let Handong sing other lines than just Jiu's. She does have a similar tone to Jiu's but I feel she struggles to get good volume behind those soft lines the way Jiu can. She seems to do better with things she can push into more. Her singing one of Siyeon's lines had me screaming! She sounded the best at that part. And yes, the blue hair is killer. She stole all my attention!
I see a lot of Insomnia unconsciously doing the hand movements of both Scream and Boca. I found it interesting, in a good way, that they didn't simply plug Handong into the choreo slots they'd filled with the masked dancer, but rather modified the choreo again to fully integrate her. I'd say she danced better than she sang the two songs. Considering she had to learn a very complex choreography in such a short time, that is probably where she put the bulk of her effort.
Yea those are real cars, its a solution they came up with for doing live concerts during the pandemic. Like a drive-in theater, you drive into the venue and watch the concert from inside your car.
I was watching it live and when I saw Handong get out of the car my heart raced. Wasn't I believing there were going to be 7 members, after 1 year of waiting? Yeah. It was so exciting and "Scream" was done with one piece missing and now Handong is back and that empty space is gone. 7:58 😂 The girls laughing was very rewarding, because it was their first performance with the whole group and everyone was so happy. The funniest thing was at the end, "I just wanna make you scream" and me trying not to scream because in Brazil it was 6 am and everyone was asleep.

I just wanna say that both Handong and Siyeon look so damn good in this performance...like wow. It just had to be said. Also Sua is wrecking me pretty hard lately
this is her first performance back with the group and i think she did fine overall. there a lot of fans who want to box her into just doing ballads and so they're okay with her not getting many lines or being overlooked in title tracks but as someone who biases her and has been waiting a full year for her to come back and perform with the girls, i am excited to see her gain more attention in the title tracks and music videos. she was a bit weak at the start but we have to remember that she was most likely mainly focusing on getting the hard dance moves down correctly (although from her vlogs, it seems like she learned most of the dances through looking at the music videos and dance practice videos while she was away). but i think she did so well during the scream performance. i feel like though fans want her to just do ballads, in order for her to get better and become a better singer, she needs to be able to sing the rock title tracks as well. you can't get better at anything if you never step out of your comfort zone. anyways, I'm excited to see more of her performing with the girls and i'm excited for the next installment.
I think it's not just to step out of her confort zone, she doesn't have a higher voice like Siyeon or Jiu so i think the most suitable is sing part that mix well with her voice and improve her singing on live to be able to be confortable

one tear from each eye when i watched it and didn't realized it until it dropped on my lap in Scream we had the masked dancer so we visually knew where Dongie would perform in the future (the future is now omg) but in Boca as amazing as the choreo is, it felt a bit empty without Dongie, now she completes the puzzle so amazingly , Boca is complete now :')
That's Handong's voice, and it's why she was always overlooked in their previous title tracks. Her voice simply does not suit rock music. She can sing a ballad like an angel, but rock is not her thing. When you hear her sing one of those heartbreaking lines like in Deja Vu it sticks with you forever. I want Leez and Ollounder to write a song especially for her. Maybe a duet with Jiu? Their voices should blend well together.
I am so hyped for Handongggg. She was soft for the parts she was given (though remember the track is still the original members, which makes her sound even softer than she is - compared to if the track had her own voice) BUT SHE ATE UP THAT 'SuA LINE' IN THE 2ND VERSE OF SCREAM MY GAWD. And their next comeback is a much brighter concept according to JiU, which would much better support her voice, so Handong could be popping off next era. :D
I'm very happy with Handong's return, of course I'm sad that she didn't make her debut on The9, but dreamcatcher needs her, for me her return is like bringing world peace
When you listened to it so much you instantly know which lines Handong got lmao. I think pretty much any InSomnia got equally shook and delighted by Handong's lines, she got so many lines too.
They actually were really balanced with who they took lines from for Handong, it was about equal between Jiu, Siyeon, Yoohyeon and Sua. Only a bit more from Siyeon
Is she first time on stage with her members in over a year obviously she's nervous Handong had to learn 7 choreography and songs during his confinement without help, only with his annotations.... She's only been practicing with his teammates for a week and a half or so...but they'll are singing live..... This is a great performance.....
Keep in mind that the backing tracks used in these performances are still attuned to Dongie-less versions of the songs. I imagine they'll redo them in the future, maybe they already have.
I may just cry on their concert. It was very difficult when she first left for China when they hadn't finished their tour and now she's back and gonna be in their concert and I don't know if I can handle that

I don't know if it has been mentioned yet, but in one of the last vlives, you kind of get the feeling, from what they say, that handong is way more confident in the scream performance than boca.
My favorite dreamcatcher song is Deja vu, and my favorite line is Handong' line : " so now I' m holding this pain...". I'm so anxious about the next comeback!
The algorithm today was like "Here's a video from almost a year ago. It's about Dreamcatcher so I know if I keep suggesting it you'll watch it.". It's not wrong. 😂 This performance was a month before I listened to Dreamcatcher for the first time and so I was lucky enough to start stanning after Handong had already returned. I do kind of get emo when I see Handong perform songs from the first two Dystopia albums because I watched a lot of performances without her in them. Seeing her perform Black or White at the Seven Spirits concert was so cleansing!
I think Handong has a beautiful voice, but she said that was very nervous because the other girls was practicing, performing, fixing and synchronizing their movements and voices for weeks. It isnt easy to arrive and fit perfectly in a group with the technique quality of Dreamcatcher after a year. She doing ok but in the next comeback we will see the Handong we know. In the online concert with a live band will be a challenge for Handong. Thanks
I love your reactions, you have a lot of knowledge about vocals, knowledge i lack. What you describe feeling seems to be resonating with me. Handong seems slightly out of place, but i realize to me that is partly because I'm not used to her in Scream and Boca. Even though i desperately want her to fit immediately, a part of me felt like her vocals could have been a bit better, you seem to have that opinion as well. I remember hearing somewhere that Handong was always fascinated by musicals and she was more trained in that way (opera in highschool). Something we must not forget; she had a year where she couldn't practice as a team in DC. Also the company didn't necessarily keep her in mind during those parts (Scream/Boca) as she was unable to return to Korea. I assume a company makes assurances. To assume she wasn't going to make it back to Korea in time for the comeback was the safer bet. Because you can always leave Handong out of a comeback even if she returned but you for sure can't let her perform if she isn't there. Also i don't think Handong and the members had a lot of time to prepare/adjust after she was out of quarantine in Korea for the concert. A week from now she has another concert having to do a lot more songs i believe. You said "this is not the same dongie is saw perform in some of the older videos". I like that you noticed how confident she is, this isn't to be underestimated. You paused on a moment where she looked extremely confident, maybe you compared that, but to me she was always confident in an equal manner as part of her personality. This seemed like that to me in older clips with her members. The lyrics in Handong's song that she wrote herself and admitted to be what she truly feels gave me the indication of her resolution and mental resolve (for example the strength she has to embrace loneliness referenced in her OST). Point is i think Handong is a person that is deeply confident that it's attached to her personality, the kind of confidence that is unwavering no matter ability. Most of us know that there is gonna be a third part after Scream and Boca. If DC delivers on their usual quality of their song/vocals/dance expecting the natural feel and personality of the members; Handong will now have sufficient time to practice together with all members. Keeping in mind the confidence Handong has; if Handong decides to work at it, this next comeback could be something else. I hope that Dreamcatcher not only wins in a Korean music show (a wish they have); but they can have a comeback as OT7 with all of them feeling they belong as such.

i also originally thought handong taking sua's part in boca would make more sense, it's very very soft and delicate in that part which would have fit her more comfortably; however, i'm just glad to have her back in general and performing with the girls as 7 lol
They are real cars; it was a drive-in festival. I think you're right, the audio skipped a little, and Dami altered her flow fractionally to compensate. And Handong definitely warmed up during this. Her voice may have been a little weak at first (good old first-show nerves, I assume), but she really got into the swing of it by Scream. I honestly expected them to keep her in the hole (like an ace, y'know?) till the concert next week, but I'm _so_ happy to see them back together..! 😁😍
The reason why Handongs vocals sounded off key is because shes not on the vocal track and is signing LIVE, while the other members have the vocal track with their live vocals ... Also she had some Siyeon and Jiu's lines. Also keep in mind they saved lines for Handong she didn't take any, they were meant for her.
I do believe she’s on the vocal track cause on vlive she was talking about all the recording they’ve been doing. Could be wrong tho, I think she just has a rlly soft voice that can come across as weak in certain songs, especially when compared to Siyeon and whatnot, but she’s still an amazing vocalist

Yes Handong's Vocal is A Bit Little Weaker T4han Say JiU's But She Has Gained More Confidence Than Before And Lets Not Forget This Is Her First Performance Back On Stage With The Entire Group In A Year; Let Alone Having To Sing Both New Songs To Her. She Hasn't Had Much Pratice Time To Prepare (In A Recent Live Video, She Met With One of Their Producers and They Were Working On What Parts She Would Get And I Think Recording A New Backing Track For Live Stage Performances With Her Vocals). With So Little Prep Time, I Think Nerves Were Probably A Big Factor During This Performance For Are Lovely Dongie. It Was Probably Like Debuting All Over Again for her. Also with BOCA from one of the V Lives with Handong, since being back, when she was talking about the up coming performances, she seemed like she was more confident about performing Scream rather than performing BOCA. Handong really came back with a lot of confidence this time! Also, I love it when you analyze vocals of many groups. I want you to check out performances in Produce series, the ones that made I.O.I. and IZ*ONE. There are a lot of amazing vocals (yes, I'd like to hear you discuss their high notes) in many performances. My favorite performances are Produce 101 - In the same place, Yanghwa bridge, Into the new world (group 2) and Produce 48 - To reach you, Meri Chrii, Don't know you, Into the new world, The truth untold. You will find a lot of interesting vocalists there. Please give it a try. :)

My church is Lee Siyeon's Church and my religion is Blue Dongie. She looks AMAZING with that hair and outfit. Actually, that "halloween stuff in the background" it's just DC regular background hahahaha. Handong sang Jiu's, Bora's and even Siyeon's lines. I can imagine how nervous she was, all eyes was on her after all. It's overwhelming. I don't know about the recording with her lines tho, her voice seemed to be louder than other member's, the mixing doesn't sound too good to me, but I hope I'm wrong. PS. yes, those were real cars hahaha it was a drive-in festival :) how rude it was not to honk at them
Well, she did say she'd learned the choreo for those four songs, and had recorded parts for something like eight tracks (at the time she said it; she may well have done more by now), so I'd assume you're right. I'm also hoping she sings First Light for her unit performance (maybe even a Korean-translated version? Who knows?)...
@@Black3ight I don't recall where eight came from offhand; I think it was a Vlive (or maybe a Weibo thing), but I do recall that the four tracks you mentioned were the ones she'd specifically learned the _dance_ for, but she'd recorded the vocals for others as well (bearing in mind they don't dance for _all_ their songs)...
geeking out is what we love to see u share with us cause where else would u let it out hehe xD anyway that last handong line before siyeon's part in scream is definitely my fav line of hers in this performance...it just sounds strong and really well done and especially sounds confident as some of her other line idk if its the mixing or they are actually singing live with backing track but handong's voice seem outta place a bit like that "obseo" line earlier in scream and the "bam" line after sua's line in boca...then again its our first time hearing the parts she took from other members so it definitely needs to simmer in our ears a bit more similar to how when i listen to their songs thats sang in japanese xD
Don't worry, I think we all felt the same way. It's so exciting to have Handong back but we also love Scream and Boca the way they were, we just want it to be perfect y'know? Of course we would be a little worried about which lines were redistributed, but I think it came out perfectly :D And her stage presence! It was a long year without Handong but I knew she would come back stronger than ever. I'm so happy ^_^

Handong's visuals certainly stole many of the spotlight in this performance, for me at least. She exudes this really intimidating aura in a good way that matches their concept perfectly.
Seeing the OT7 together on stage, united, together as the power team we know and love just made me cry. I missed Handong so much but it wasn't until seeing her with the rest of them that made it really hit that she has been missed and that no-one can ever fill her shoes or spot. She is one of the seven vital parts that makes Dreamcatcher work! Welcome back Handong you have been missed my Insomias and your team!
This is why I hope they put a lot of effort into the future songs to make them better for all because I understand why that use jiu's parts but truthfully she doesn't have that much so I hope they can write it where it's not so siyeon and yoohyeon (although they are so good and bring so much of the voices the rock parts need) heavy and so it doesn't cut jius parts but instead is divided equally.
It's the recording that was glitched. I watched it live on other platform and there was no problem at all. I think there were other recordings that have no glitch issue if you look for it but overall it doesn't really matter even with the glitch haha. And hey!! I can relate whenever you flinched a little with their singing😂👍🏻 AND OT7 DREAMCATCHER YES.

Handong's part and lines are there as for what I've heard from one of their V-Live like it was there for Handong but someone has to fill in for her but now that she's there that's hers even with the dance you will notice that there's always a gap or a space for one person and that's Handong's. And as for remake the songs and insert handong I don't think that will happen no matter how much we want to hear Handong's voice that would probably never happen because they already released the albums and it will not be fair for those people who already bought the album 😂 by the way that first part where Handong did Jiu's part was really meant for Jiu but one time Handong was asked what's her favorite part of scream and she immidiately answered Jiu's part 😂 and I think Jiu gave that part for her because Handong said she likes it so much 😂 Jiu is really kind and generous to all the members that's why I think she gave that to Handong and she really missed Handong so much. There's so much to anticipate in the next album! Handong is back and I'm thinking what you're thinking also. It will be Handong's era next album! HFE or Dreamcatcher Company should capitalize the fans craving for Handong and I'm pretty sure that the new InSomnias born during or after Scream is also looking forward seeing and hearing Handong in the next album 😂 even I was shocked when I first watched the video and I counted 7 I was like "wait 7? WTFFFFFF HANDOOOOONG!" 😂 I did expect Handong to be on the concert but to have a performance before the concert is freaking awesome!! This is a treat for all of InSomnias 😂
Chances are they might have a repackaged album if fans demanded it. I could see it happening especially in Dystopia series. Just imagine a repackaged album with Handong in it. Insomnias would buy them without hesitation. So there is a chance we will get that! We fans might have got the album already but we aren't complaining if we getting a repackaged OT7. It won't be unfair for us, the more albums they give, the more we are willing to get and support no matter what.
Also, yeah, I believed in their vlive before that the lines Handong got are actually planned for hers. I don't think JiU just willingly gave hers to Handong. It was definitely meant for Handong from what I understand and they were just singing those part for her until she comes back.

It was certainly something to get used to, but when Dongie busted out her first line in Boca, it was like, this was it. After a full year without her, she's finally back and these songs are going to be sung as they were meant to be sang.
I know you're a baby InSomnia at this point, but for those of us who suffered through Dongie's artifically Covid-extended sabbatical? This was super emotional. The girls are back in full force, Dongie's more confident from her experiences in Idol Producer/Youth With You, got a solo song under her belt, and all is right with the InSomnia world. She's back right at the time they're exploding in popularity, too.
I cannot wait for an OT7 EP featuring Dongie's re-recorded vocals, and the eventual Dystopia 3.

Dongie's vocals are softer in a different way because her vocal tone is way darker than Jiu. Jiu's voice reminds me of an anime character. It has that cheerfulness. Handong's tone reminds me of like dark chocolate

You're right Handong's voice a lill' weak at the beginning of the perf. But it's okay and you will notice as the performance goes on her vocal gets stronger and stable, specially in Scream(her last part in 🤘 is ❤️). maybe because she's a Lil nervous for her first performance as she mentioned in their recent Vlive that she's Completely nervous for this perf.

she had to be so nervous, her first performance with the group after a year, her first performance of these two songs when the other girls already have the experience of performing them... and she also had to practice for this in so litle time!!! all in all she did so so well

I may be wrong, but it seems that her mic was with a lower volume than the rest. I think (and again, I may be wrong) that the back track still doesn't have her voice in it, so her vocals sounds "weaker" than the rest, that have a little of back track to support (not that any of them need it)
Handong got Jiu's, Siyeon's and a bit of Yooheon's lines in Boca and Jiu's and Sua's lines in Scream. New distribution of the two songs is quite fair I think but it does feel very unusual to hear Handong sing Jiu's part in Scream for now.
PS. In the moment when you got confused in Scream, I think it was Siyeon singing already, not Handong.
Her voice at the very end of the BOCA stood out to me the most. It got the same tone as she did in Deja Vu. Gotta use more of that kind of notes for her tbh. It seems like she's nervous and her voice were a little weak on the first part but as the performances get going, her voice found stability and stronger. I really can't wait more of her! I'm really hoping she would be the center for the next comeback. Also, she stood out the most I think because we haven't seen her and she's so tall so that's why! But that confident she got is so much better than before. And her visual just went up the notch. Having her make up style changes like that really suits her more. And arghhhh I think she's my 2nd fav visual after jiu.
i feel like Bocas distribution was a little impromptu since i felt it was written for 6 but Scream was something like what they really wanted with Handong because the flow actually felt new and refreshing with HanDongs vocals on par with Suas.
I'm so glad they gave Handong lines. They could have easily just had her learn the choreo and dance with them on stage. It just shows how much their company trusts and respects their idols.
I don't mind the pausing tbh. It's like we're freaking out with u 🤣✊ . Yeah it's like Dongie confidence tripled when she come back. Next album will be amazing!!

I also hope they will let Handong sing other lines than just Jiu's. She does have a similar tone to Jiu's but I feel she struggles to get good volume behind those soft lines the way Jiu can. She seems to do better with things she can push into more. Her singing one of Siyeon's lines had me screaming! She sounded the best at that part. And yes, the blue hair is killer. She stole all my attention!
But she got not only Jiu's parts. Also Siyeon's and Sua's.

I see a lot of Insomnia unconsciously doing the hand movements of both Scream and Boca.
I found it interesting, in a good way, that they didn't simply plug Handong into the choreo slots they'd filled with the masked dancer, but rather modified the choreo again to fully integrate her. I'd say she danced better than she sang the two songs. Considering she had to learn a very complex choreography in such a short time, that is probably where she put the bulk of her effort.
In regards to 12:43, Dami made no mistake nor did the backing track make an error. It was the stream.
Yea those are real cars, its a solution they came up with for doing live concerts during the pandemic. Like a drive-in theater, you drive into the venue and watch the concert from inside your car.
I was watching it live and when I saw Handong get out of the car my heart raced. Wasn't I believing there were going to be 7 members, after 1 year of waiting? Yeah. It was so exciting and "Scream" was done with one piece missing and now Handong is back and that empty space is gone.

I just wanna say that both Handong and Siyeon look so damn good in this performance...like wow. It just had to be said. Also Sua is wrecking me pretty hard lately
this is her first performance back with the group and i think she did fine overall. there a lot of fans who want to box her into just doing ballads and so they're okay with her not getting many lines or being overlooked in title tracks but as someone who biases her and has been waiting a full year for her to come back and perform with the girls, i am excited to see her gain more attention in the title tracks and music videos.
she was a bit weak at the start but we have to remember that she was most likely mainly focusing on getting the hard dance moves down correctly (although from her vlogs, it seems like she learned most of the dances through looking at the music videos and dance practice videos while she was away). but i think she did so well during the scream performance. i feel like though fans want her to just do ballads, in order for her to get better and become a better singer, she needs to be able to sing the rock title tracks as well. you can't get better at anything if you never step out of your comfort zone. anyways, I'm excited to see more of her performing with the girls and i'm excited for the next installment.
I think it's not just to step out of her confort zone, she doesn't have a higher voice like Siyeon or Jiu so i think the most suitable is sing part that mix well with her voice and improve her singing on live to be able to be confortable

That's Handong's voice, and it's why she was always overlooked in their previous title tracks. Her voice simply does not suit rock music. She can sing a ballad like an angel, but rock is not her thing. When you hear her sing one of those heartbreaking lines like in Deja Vu it sticks with you forever. I want Leez and Ollounder to write a song especially for her. Maybe a duet with Jiu? Their voices should blend well together.

Well JiU said the the 3rd part of Dystopia is a much brighter concept, so this might be a perfect era for Handong.
In my opinion she suited SuA's part in Scream perfectly but not so much the softer parts meant for JiU. Her voice sounded fuller and fierce I think^^

Handong had to learn 7 choreography and songs during his confinement without help, only with his annotations.... She's only been practicing with his teammates for a week and a half or so...but they'll are singing live..... This is a great performance.....
Keep in mind that the backing tracks used in these performances are still attuned to Dongie-less versions of the songs. I imagine they'll redo them in the future, maybe they already have.
I may just cry on their concert. It was very difficult when she first left for China when they hadn't finished their tour and now she's back and gonna be in their concert and I don't know if I can handle that

I'm telling ya this handong is a dangerous woman. She didn't have as many parts, but she fcking slayed each one of them
The algorithm today was like "Here's a video from almost a year ago. It's about Dreamcatcher so I know if I keep suggesting it you'll watch it.". It's not wrong. 😂 This performance was a month before I listened to Dreamcatcher for the first time and so I was lucky enough to start stanning after Handong had already returned. I do kind of get emo when I see Handong perform songs from the first two Dystopia albums because I watched a lot of performances without her in them. Seeing her perform Black or White at the Seven Spirits concert was so cleansing!
I think Handong has a beautiful voice, but she said that was very nervous because the other girls was practicing, performing, fixing and synchronizing their movements and voices for weeks. It isnt easy to arrive and fit perfectly in a group with the technique quality of Dreamcatcher after a year. She doing ok but in the next comeback we will see the Handong we know.
In the online concert with a live band will be a challenge for Handong.

I love your reactions, you have a lot of knowledge about vocals, knowledge i lack. What you describe feeling seems to be resonating with me.
Handong seems slightly out of place, but i realize to me that is partly because I'm not used to her in Scream and Boca.
Even though i desperately want her to fit immediately, a part of me felt like her vocals could have been a bit better, you seem to have that opinion as well.
I remember hearing somewhere that Handong was always fascinated by musicals and she was more trained in that way (opera in highschool).
Something we must not forget; she had a year where she couldn't practice as a team in DC. Also the company didn't necessarily keep her in mind during those parts (Scream/Boca) as she was unable to return to Korea. I assume a company makes assurances. To assume she wasn't going to make it back to Korea in time for the comeback was the safer bet. Because you can always leave Handong out of a comeback even if she returned but you for sure can't let her perform if she isn't there. Also i don't think Handong and the members had a lot of time to prepare/adjust after she was out of quarantine in Korea for the concert. A week from now she has another concert having to do a lot more songs i believe.

You paused on a moment where she looked extremely confident, maybe you compared that, but to me she was always confident in an equal manner as part of her personality.
This seemed like that to me in older clips with her members.
The lyrics in Handong's song that she wrote herself and admitted to be what she truly feels gave me the indication of her resolution and mental resolve (for example the strength she has to embrace loneliness referenced in her OST). Point is i think Handong is a person that is deeply confident that it's attached to her personality, the kind of confidence that is unwavering no matter ability.
Most of us know that there is gonna be a third part after Scream and Boca. If DC delivers on their usual quality of their song/vocals/dance expecting the natural feel and personality of the members; Handong will now have sufficient time to practice together with all members.
Keeping in mind the confidence Handong has; if Handong decides to work at it, this next comeback could be something else.
I hope that Dreamcatcher not only wins in a Korean music show (a wish they have); but they can have a comeback as OT7 with all of them feeling they belong as such.

The reason why Handongs vocals sounded off key is because shes not on the vocal track and is signing LIVE, while the other members have the vocal track with their live vocals ... Also she had some Siyeon and Jiu's lines.

I do believe she’s on the vocal track cause on vlive she was talking about all the recording they’ve been doing. Yes Handong's Vocal is A Bit Little Weaker T4han Say JiU's But She Has Gained More Confidence Than Before And Lets Not Forget This Is Her First Performance Back On Stage With The Entire Group In A Year; Let Alone Having To Sing Both New Songs To Her. She Hasn't Had Much Pratice Time To Prepare (In A Recent Live Video, She Met With One of Their Producers and They Were Working On What Parts She Would Get And I Think Recording A New Backing Track For Live Stage Performances With Her Vocals). With So Little Prep Time, I Think Nerves Were Probably A Big Factor During This Performance For Are Lovely Dongie. It Was Probably Like Debuting All Over Again for her. Also with BOCA from one of the V Lives with Handong, since being back, when she was talking about the up coming performances, she seemed like she was more confident about performing Scream rather than performing BOCA. Hopefully by This Weeks My Music Taste Dystopia: Seven Spirits Concert all the rough edges will be ironed out. So let's just think of this as a practice dry run for her. Over all it was A Good Performance and It feels so good to have Dongie and OT7 Back!😊❤

@@Black3ight I don't recall where eight came from offhand; I think it was a Vlive (or maybe a Weibo thing), but I do recall that the four tracks you mentioned were the ones she'd specifically learned the _dance_ for, but she'd recorded the vocals for others as well (bearing in mind they don't dance for _all_ their songs)...
The first couple lines Donggie sang in Boca, were Siyeon's, the second time it was JiU's and I'm pretty sure that she sang the last Yoohyeon's lines.

Yeah, Handong's sound is "lower" so it would make sense to be swapping with Gahyeon or Sua.
Don't worry, I think we all felt the same way. It's so exciting to have Handong back but we also love Scream and Boca the way they were, we just want it to be perfect y'know? Handong's visuals certainly stole many of the spotlight in this performance, for me at least. She exudes this really intimidating aura in a good way that matches their concept perfectly.
Seeing the OT7 together on stage, united, together as the power team we know and love just made me cry. I missed Handong so much but it wasn't until seeing her with the rest of them that made it really hit that she has been missed and that no-one can ever fill her shoes or spot. She is one of the seven vital parts that makes Dreamcatcher work! Welcome back Handong you have been missed my Insomias and your team!

This is why I hope they put a lot of effort into the future songs to make them better for all because I understand why that use jiu's parts but truthfully she doesn't have that much so I hope they can write it where it's not so siyeon and yoohyeon (although they are so good and bring so much of the voices the rock parts need) heavy and so it doesn't cut jius parts but instead is divided equally.
Check out Handongs youth with you performances, she lets loose a little more.

It's the recording that was glitched. I watched it live on other platform and there was no problem at all. I think there were other recordings that have no glitch issue if you look for it but overall it doesn't really matter even with the glitch haha.
