I miss him! There are skaters now who can do more tricks and "better" jumps, but they have no personality. Hats off to Scott, who kicked ass and made you smile every time you saw him.

Just asked; the King of Pop was much more than a mere pop star, and much more than a performer, Scotty exceeds the boundaries defined as a figure skater....both are ENTERTAINERS!! Over the years, many young men have modeled their skating styles after him, but there will never be another "Scott Hamilton".
What think is so amazing about Scott is he is the total package. So many skaters are all jumps or spins etc. Scott is everything plus something extra-showmanship! You loose yourself while watching him, he is so entertaining and special. I totally enjoyed his career.

He was one of the absolutely greatest skaters. The only one to do back flips on ice. Also completely silly and made people laugh. There will never be another Scott Hamilton. Edit to add: My favorite female skater who was also insanely talented was Dorthy Hamil.

This is the perfect example of a REAL SKATER not the boring old jumping beans you have today its tedious to watch now But Scott always brought a difference to skating that was refreshing !Look at that footwork the skaters of today couldnt do any of this!
I knew, in 1984, I would never love another skater like I did Scotty. There have been great, great skaters since then, but there’s only one Scott Hamilton. And I’ll always put him above any other. When he had his “Stars on Ice” tours I was fortunate enough to see him, and those amazing groups, three times. His personality, in person, slides right from that ice to you. God bless Scotty, and keep him well.
I've always love Scotty Hamilton's skating. He and Paul Wylie have been my most favorites, and I was fortunate to see a Stars On Ice in person when Scotty and Paul were both in the show.

Technically, working your feet/hips/ body that quickly in "footwork" on the ice is extremely difficult. In this performance, he is in his 30s and still doing pretty perfect triples under pressure in a lengthy, challenging program. Jumps are over in a second, difficult skating and footwrok is a sustained action taking real effort over time. Therefore, a 5.9 for sure!
