Not the x games we once knew… I was the only person in my family that was into moto x, but when the x games rolled around the whole family would sit around and love the energy that the staples center crowds would bring. Now I’m sitting in my room watching a boring competition on my phone with no energy and no passion for the sport from the riders… sad stuff

I was on vacation with my friends family back in 2006. Totally normal family except their son and I were both skaters. When Moto best trick came on. The whole vacation stopped so we could watch Travis Pastrana land the first double back flip. Those were the days.

I think back when my buddies and I were hitting dirtpiles on our BMX bikes we had more people watching on the sidelines than these guys who are risking their lives with every jump....and it was just my grandma and neighbor spectating

Nitro world games took over the x-games. Real pro’s saving the big tricks for Nitro World Games. Last year got canceled due to covid. But back open in October
I wonder if anyone is going to ever figure out the TP Roll and send it. Missing the innovation Pastrana brought to X Games. Very rarely do we see new tricks. Everyone is doing the same stunts for the past half decade at best with the exception of 1 or two guys now and then. Maybe next year X Games should try some new setups like nitro does. Bigger ramps and a safer landing so the guys can push themselves harder and minimize the risk. This sport is getting stale at this point. Something is going to have to change.
I couldn't even finish watching. Commentators need to be fired up and keep us fired up...most of the time they sound like they're callin out numbers at senior bingo. Meanwhile buddy on the bike is changing a spark plug hanging upside down mid way through a double back flip. Commentator: "Meh, the double back was solid but he could have at least gapped the plug."....lol 😂

I don't follow this stuff, I'm relatively new. But as far as the first tricks, why did Adelberg's trick do so much better than Vanstippen's? Vanstippen's looked a lot more difficult, and it felt like a cleaner landing.
When doing a front flip, you are going completely against the original momentum of the bike. It's a whole lot easier to pull up on the handles than down. It's also much harder to guadge where you are in the air due to the first wheel that hits the ground is (hopefully) the back one, when you're still looking at sky. But idk, i just like watching dirt bikes go weeeee

How did Taka's first run get such a high score? Both tricks following his run were way more difficult and scored lower than his. A perfect double backflip with any variation should always beat a single with a basic variation.
My only answer to that is... Maybe preference for being a Monster Energy Athlete, i believe Monster Energy is big Xgames Sponsor, plus Luke is Red Bull rider so i guess....
Because it was a sick trick, letting go of the bike completely while you're upside down and it's above you is absolutely gnarly. Didn't see anyone else try it did you? Compared to a double backflip with a tiny leg shuffle it just looks better and scarier. Variations count for more than you understand, I think.

X games motocross has not evolved since 2016. Same tricks but kids working them out on technology to better perform tricks. Momentum is gone. They are great but repeating innovation
