Hey Daniel, I ordered my Apple Studio Display with height adjustment stand, matching black magic extended keyboard and mouse. I did the standard glass as I am in agreement that I don’t like the matte look of nano etched glass vs glossy. I owned the LG 27inch Ultra Fine for 7 days, I absolutely loved the display, and didn’t mind the plastic look that all critizied about the cheap look. The stand gave you height/tilt adjustment from 18.8 inches to almost 24 inches when fully extended. So, because I had the return receipt for 14 days and the Studio came out this week, I went for all the bells and whistles to join my MacBook Pro 16 that I just purchased in Feb 2022. almost paying 2000$ for a monitor without 120hz refresh rate lol…tbh apple did a very bad job including speakers and camera. Most people are just looking for the display and maybe buy 2-3 monitors. They should let customers buy their own external camera and speakers at different budgets.

As someone who owns two 27’ Thunderbolt Displays, anything is better than those. Definitely will be coping two with the adjustable stand, using the education pricing 👍.
Apple should've created a variant with no speaker and camera. Hey? What will you do with multiple Apple Studio Displays with a bunch of cameras and speakers? The ports on the back can be a single thunderbolt and 1 USB type-c or just enough for a daisy chain.
I think the monitor is a great product for longevity. With apple transitioning to their apple silicon I don't expect them supporting their computers longer than the life cycle of their iPhones and iPads which uses their chips. The M1 iMacs that they make now likely won't be useable past 10 years, at some point they will stop supporting it, but with this monitor, you can just keep replacing the Mac minis and not worry about being able to upgrade to their latest OS. I am currently using an M1 Mac mini with the apple Cinema Display 30. The only thing new is the Mac mini. I am going the monitor/Mac mini route as soon as I can no longer use my 2009 iMacs with an open core patcher.
For me...my Ultrafine 4K is still the best deal...good price, great quality, apple style..This one (for an MA/PhD student like me) is still a bit pricy..

For me it is just too much for a 27". The resolution is great but the realestate for multiple apps is still limited.
i was waiting for a monitor from apple for a long time... but this is not what i expected, you can't even connect the ps5 on it.
AGREED! Instead of all the extra crap give us lower price OR Mini-LED with Pro Motion. I’m really disappointed it’s a 60Hz LCD panel.
almost paying 2000$ for a monitor without 120hz refresh rate lol…tbh apple did a very bad job including speakers and camera. Most people are just looking for the display and maybe buy 2-3 monitors. They should let customers buy their own external camera and speakers at different budgets.
@@shuzenguyen334I was actually hoping they would unveil 3 or so monitors. Then it would be easier to please different customers. With ONLY 1 option there is no choice…
I’m not gonna buy this one, because it doesn’t have what I want and it has what I don’t need.
Pro Display XDR would check most of the boxes, but 6k for a monitor? - Maybe, if I my work required it, but it definitely doesn’t.
Besides the ridiculous price, what also bothers me, is that you can’t switch from a normal stand to a VESA and vice versa.
VESA mount is the best option! Then get an aluminum arm-- you can get a solid one for under $200.
If you are editing a bunch of 4k raw video as well as running Lightroom with large files and large photoshop files what Mac studio configuration would go with out of these below options?
1. M1 max 24 core gpu 64gb ram 4tb ssd
2. M1 max 32 core gpu 32gb ram 4tb ssd
3. M1 max 24 core gpu 32gb ram 4tb ssd
I know the 4tb ssd gets the speed bump for ssd speeds but it is hard to find info on what is more important with the M1 max… more gpu cores or more memory ? Love the channel, thanks for all the great content !
Number 1 or 3 is the best for that kind of workflow. I would say 1 base on your usage but you might still can get away with 3.
So buying a 27 5K iMac and using Universal Control to manage it with a M1 Pro MacBook could be a better deal?
Why Apple doesn't include the rotate feature on the downgraded Pro Stand?
I’m kind of wondering why Apple didn’t put the advance webcam on the base line iMac in the first place. I remember it being announced along side the new iPad Pro.
Great job Daniel 👏🏽 👍🏼
Spare a thought for those that will need 2 of these
I wonder if you have multiple displays, would they all sync up to produce a larger soundstage and for Dolby Atmos?
Probably not. And a decent external set up would end up sounding better
Would have bought it if it has promotion. I can’t see why they’re skimping on that front, would have made it a really great offering.
I agree if it had that variable refresh rate i would have bought it already but i cant convince myself without it at that price
@@George-yz3sb especially when you can get 4K, 144hz, 1ms, PD port for 1 cable set up with a Mac, HDMI 2.1 for next gen console gaming and accurate colours good enough for photo editing with the Eve Spectrum for £700.
@@Ghostzy01 its the apple tax they give us so much and leave out something that would make it perfect
@@George-yz3sb 100% it’s so annoying. There’s always something they could have absolutely put in but decided, likely for future sales of new products, to leave it out.
I know nothing about tech so if you buy this Mac you wouldn’t be able to access to the internet ? Like on its own ?
idk i am getting a studio monitor BECAUSE of integrated quality speakers / microphone / camera. I spend a lot of time in calls (like a lot of people these days, i think), and this allows me to retire my standalone camera and microphone (and, probably, the need to use headphones to avoid echo), and to simplify my desk setup.
@ZoneofTECH It has Hey Siri because the Mac Studio itself doesn't have microphones
As someone who owns two 27’ Thunderbolt Displays, anything is better than those. Definitely will be coping two with the adjustable stand, using the education pricing 👍.
Low refresh is disappointing- rest is decent.
Still would prefer to go with 42” oled or 34” QD oled
Apple should've created a variant with no speaker and camera. Hey? What will you do with multiple Apple Studio Displays with a bunch of cameras and speakers?
The ports on the back can be a single thunderbolt and 1 USB type-c or just enough for a daisy chain.
This thing is not a monitor, it’s just an accessory of the Mac Studio (or Mac mini), and should be bought only for those machines.
It is a monitor and should be treated as one. A monitor is always an accessory to a Desktop PC
Thank you, the most useful review of the recent Apple event I have seen so far!
Wow really informative. Watched all the Studio Display but this is really really good. Excellent
May you use UA-cam chapters please
So we can share each chapter
would buy the iMac instead if I could also use it as a monitor for my work windows pc. I really like this monitor but feel like it’s a bit too much.
Best coverage of this display so far, thanks!
So there’s no way we can connect Ps5 to this display?
The iMac at the back wallpaper say “สวัสดี”wow!!!
Since I've gone monitor arm, I have no interest in stands again.
agree with you great monitor i like and prefer the features mics speakers camer etc but should be several hundred less
I just bought one !
Solo por el sonido que tiene la Studio Display merece la pena y las “ 🖤 🖤
Ultrafine 4K is far from Apple-style. It's heavy plastic PC design.
Apple Studio is "only" 8 bit.😫
Thanks for you video, bye.
