2023 & still here. I was 16 when I first heard this and it's been on ever since. I feel if this was released today they would be 100x's bigger. These guys have or had such a loyal following (I was one of them) that if they use the internet/social media to fund projects they would kill it. I hope they do, we need CYNE in our lives! I hope all you out there are good and still striving in this life.
Great message man. Yeah I used to listen to these guys through college. If you like them you should check out "Under The Hood" by the Specifics. Another VERY underrated duo I discovered through Nujabes. R.I.P to that man. Practically developed the whole lo-fi rap genre.
I just discovered these dudes yesterday through Nujabes (R.I.P.). Legend brought me to another. These dudes have risen into my top tier of music, those who master the art, with just one of their songs. Hands down in my top 10 if not top 5. Thank you Nujabes! Legendary. Cannot believe they've escaped my german shepard and spidey senses for good music for so long...
cyne is probably the most consistent group i have ever heard. every track is so far and above the average, it really is amazing. i just hope they know people love there music to death
i honestly think this is their best song, not by lyrics standard, but synchronizing the beat, rhythm, the words, tone, everything together just creates this harmony that symbolizes perfect hip hop. i dont even know if this makes sense, its just how crazy this beat is :P
i remember discovering nujabes feather and I went down a rabbit hole of hiphop/jazz and by pure luck I found Cyne, this song specifically got me through some tough times. recently I moved back to NYC after 8 years of being away and its been my theme song everytime I go somewhere
Man this is ILL both the beat and the lyrics are so dope makes me wonder why is it that people that have a concience and that are sincere never get the mainstream recognition....
Hip hop is dead. Graffiti is made by anybody who practices, rap is done by bitches like drake, break dancing is on America got talent. I wouldn't know what to call this besides underground. Shit that's not seen on the mainstream surface.
+Butchered Mouse hip hop lives and will always live in the underground, as where mainstream artists who came from the underground recreate from their past and try and stick with what's expected but along the way that little bit of hip hop that leaves with them is never the same their roots die and that happens nearly all the time underground artistry is ever changing the style and flow makes the man not the beat.
Thanks man...totally right on that one ya know....I started listening to Cyne from "Starship Utopia...didn't know they had such a good album years before. And still sounds fresh!! Seems like Water For Mars is they're latest....and I thought this year couldn't get any better in terms of good Hip-Hop music...
Hahaha, hip-hop started in America. So yeah. Where hip-hop is nurtured most, it would be in America. CYNE is IMO the best hip-hop representation for me. =)
@DRbaste Because this music is spiritual. It asks the person who is listening to reach deep into their thoughts, and to let go of the things that people want you to believe. That's how I see it. To me, it's philosophy. And sadly the most adopted philosophy today, is the one that says "You need money to be happy".
the number of times the troll has told random people to get a life and called them a troll is literally over 500 times in the last month. and over his lifetime it's probably over 9000.
@BeatsOutDBricks we get your point on the difference between the opposing sounds of the genre. The point is... this kind of "rap" as you call it sounds much better. And since you like this kind of "rap" much better than your so called mainstream "hip-hop" then that's all that really matters. What sounds good, and what's trash.
@samjs721 Every MC has his unique style, 2Pac is more legendary and made tracks about anything in this world, Cyne is some fresh material. That track is from 2005 year, Pac died in 1996.
I listened to this bout a decade before piñata but it’s crazy how madlib made such a different vibe instrumental than Speck and Enoch with the exact same sample.
@zzzzJAGJEETzzzz I'm white and can't stand mainstream. It's about the meaning and lyrics to me with real hip hop and for any genre of music. When you stereotype us "whites" all your doing is contradicting yourself. Music doesn't discriminate whether the artist is black or white and I'm sure Cyne and many other hip hop artists agree. It's not about the race, it's all about the music. There's plenty of dope white artists like Macklemore out there too. So Please, refrain from ignorant comments.
To the viewers of this video, I apologize. I lured 4 psychopathic stalkers to pollute this song. Do not have any association with them. They are trolls.
Cyne is the most underrated rapper group I've ever seen in my life.
Agree with you. And check these underground nuggets:
CunninLynguists, Compnay Flow, Cannibal Ox, Aesop Rock, Hieroglyphics.
