It's easy to add an aftermarket rearview backup camera to any vehicle, they're a great safety and convenience feature that give you a clear view of what is behind your vehicle while in reverse.
Most cameras are universal, meaning they will work with any vehicle, but there are also vehicle specific camera options for select makes and models of cars.
A double din Car Stereo is the most common monitor used, but stock screens can also be used but will require a vehicle specific harness or interface. Mirror Monitors and standalone monitors are the easiest to install because they don't require taking apart the dash or replacing the stereo.

I saw that you routed the cable threw airbag panel at 13:14 , the cable now in front of the airbag
Won't it prevent proper deployment of the air bag ? may be the better option is to remove the panel to rout it behind it ?

Thank you for this video. I tried installing the wires from the bottom instead of going through the top and this gave me much more slack so I didn't have to buy the extension cables.
On a factory head unit, what do you connect the red trigger wire that comes off of the yellow rca wire to? Accessory power wire?

Great video, Quick question, can you tap 2 wires (1- rear camera, 2- parking sensor) to the reverse light? If yes is it okay to tap them into one area or should i tap them separately?
I have a manufacture build in back up camera. It only works when you are backing up. Dealer as usual in no help. They always give you useless can answer. How do I make the camera work when I need to. Camera only cames on when I go reverse.

hi loooove ur vid whn i go to my fuse box whts the name on the fuse i need to look for im asn this cuz i need to check to see if it came loose or if i need s new fuse mu camest went out a yr ago it came on whn i went to mazda thn about almost two weeks to the day it went out again od rather do fix it myself i knw i can do i wnna at leas check everthng they wnt $130 just to look at it so pls can u tell me whn i go to the fuse box whts the name of the fuse its connected to the manual dnt help much ive read it and i just get annoyed and fustrated i hve a 2014 mazada 3 sedan so pls if u can help me out and point me in the right direction id really appreciate it very much thnx and pls keep up the really good vids and luv ur tatts and the issue im havn is i put it in reverse and no video shows the lil green lights blanks and nothing plllls reply thnx

Hello, Is it necessary to disconnect the 12V battery to bring the wiring to the rear camera? I don't know if the side airbags can be accidentally deployed. Thank you.
Its always a good idea to disconnect the negative wire when working on anything power related

Is it possible to install two 170º cameras at the back of my car and merge the two generated images into a single 270 with parking lanes? I have a Mitsubishi Outlander and the camera location is on either side of the rear handle. So, my current set up is a single camera which produces an angled 170º degree image. Therefore, the produced image is skewed. I'd like to purchase system with two cameras which produces a single better image. Is this even possible? Are there any such systems available for purchasing?

I have a 2009 rav4 that came with a back up camera .recently whenever I put it in reverse the display turns blue and then goes back blank. Toyota wants almost 500 to fix this ..any advice or help is much appreciated

Hi, one question. For the section in the video about positive and negative wire twisted, I have no instrument or knowledge to test of the rear light wires, is it a danger in case I twisted the wrong wires?
You might be able to find out what your vehicle's wire colors are online somewhere. Generally if one of the wires has a black line (solid or dashed) going down it, regardless of color, it is negative.
But really... the best thing to do is borrow a multimeter and figure it our for sure..
Or put on reverse then pick one cable then touch the car on metal surface if sparks its +
Where is the best place to get a stereo installed?
Probably a stupid question, but how do I know what strength of fuse is required for the fuse tap? I assume that the one we take out of the fuse box to make room for the tie in goes in to the tie in, but then we need another fuse for the backup camera, right? How can I figure out what size it needs to be?
Refer to the monitor manual. It should say how many watts the monitor needs to run. Divide the watts by 12 (volts) and you get amps. Multiply the amps by 1.5 or @ there and that will tell you the size fuse you need.
How do you know which fuse slot to plug into? I know you said the radio power, but does this replace the actual radio fuse? How does it work?

I got a Jbl CX-62SI pair of speakers. The rms of these speakers is 70 watt and peak output is 280 watt. Is this 70 watt means these both speakers have a combined rms of 70 watt(means each speaker has a rms of 35 watt) or the single speaker has a rms of 70 watt?

Hi got a question am installing a funanasun mirror dash cam it came with a rear camara but the wiring for the rear camara only has a red cable that connects to the reverse light but no ground cable and then it plugs to the camara do I need a ground cable to connect to reverse light?

Sir, I have 3800 watt 2 channel amplifier and one sony 12'' subwoofer (4 ohm) 420 RMS and 1800 peak power what are the best settings for these? please help me. I need deep and long bass.
There are videos you will have to look for to take your subs to 2 ohms witch will give you a deep bass sound. If you like the difference I would recommend setting your amp to 2 ohms or getting an amp to meet your needs (2 ohm option). Good luck.

@@GavstarLeo it actually wasnt too hard. It just took me a bit longer because it was too cold when I did it. Lol. I used wire splices when connecting it to the reverse lights. I need to go back in and tape them because when was finishing it up, the cold air kept hardening the electrical tape so it didnt stick.

They probably mean so you can use the reverse camera at any time. I dont care to have it on all the time. My car uses a can bus system aswell.

My deal with the invention of these back up cameras is I've noticed peps ain't even turning their heads just shoving the gearshift into reverse and backing up and cursing because someone or thing is in their way.....
Oh, sorry forgot to mention I'm not a big fan of tape summer months the glue gets soft and sloppy and as it gets colder over time starts to turn loose.
How would you accomplish this install on a regular sedan with no hatchback door?
I think you can rout the wires through the back seat but you can buy a wireless unit that don't required to run the wires from back to front of the car. They are under $30 on eBay and free shipping.

Tutorial is excellent until dude installs it to the rear view mirror whereas I want to install it underneath the dash and plug it into the back of the touchscreen stereo.
