Good Lord!! When did you guys become such germaphobes? Ketchup containers? Seriously? Using your logic we should ask avoid hotel ice machines, soda fountains, any taxi cab or Uber, door handles (period), ballpoint pens at banks or restaurants, shopping carts, salt and pepper shakers, or anything that anybody may have touched ever! Practice proper personal hygiene, keep your fingers out of your mouth, and respect the people around you and you’ll be fine. Goodness!
Sounds like a list for the snobbish type. Yes, I use the ketchup bottles, yes, I drink tap water (at restaurants and at home), yes I'll order the special knowing it was fresh 2 days ago (it's still getting cooked today). Sheesh, live a little and stop worrying so much.
OK...Thanks, Now no one wants to eat ANWHERE. WHO SNEEZED on my bread wrapper at the bakery? Who scratched them selves at the store just before stocking the milk jugs?? WHO took a hot steamy dump and wiped their butt and didn't wash their hands before stocking the yogurt ?? AAAAGGHHH!!!! Now I must starve !!!
I love the over concern of bacteria in this video. You opened the door. Everyone entering that restaurant touched that door, not everyone used the same Ketchup bottle that's sitting on your table, and not everyone used the tongs to get your favorite buffet dish, but everyone did touch the entrance and exit doors. Hands touched your plate at some point, along with your fork and knife. If you took public transportation to your dining experience, you were exposed to trillions of bacteria. Not to mention that you're eating meer feet away from people you don't know. One of them may cough, or sneeze. If you're too afraid to touch the tongs, you had probably better eat at home and get groceries delivered and left on your doorstep. Leave them there for 12 hours to make sure that your delivery guy's bacteria has died before bringing them in to your house. Ultimately, 330 million Americans dine out, or drive through, eating billions or 10 of billions of meals prepared outside their homes each year. 3 people in Las Angelas get hospitalized for contaminated restaurant food, it's considered an outbreak. My guess is that driving to and from dinner is more dangerous when it comes to serious injury or death than the eating part of your dining experience by orders of magnitude. Otherwise, when 3 people are hospitalized in LA, we wouldn't be saying outbreak, we'd be saying, only 3?
covid be like The moment I watched the beginning part with the buffet I realized the whole video would be stupid and that I should stop watching. These are the kind of people who take a shower with there masks on lol or while they are eating , we have immune systems for a reason.
The old bread goes into salads as croutons, and breadcrumbs in meatballs. Old baked potatoes get mashed, or go into potato salad or "roasted potato " sides.
4:13 I’m so sorry but this is so annoying, “imagine how many fingers have touched that ketchup bottle” I promise you the chair you’re sitting on at that restaurant might not even be cleaned properly 💀💀
I am a former manager for McDonald's and the items you should never order is anything on the menu the time codes they use just get reset. so whatever you order could be sitting there forever. This goes for coffee and McCafe as well. Coffee can linger for hours and McCafe machines don't always get cleaned and sanitized properly. The same goes for the ice cream/shake machine.
@@playadeldiablo you are so wrong I left McDonald's because I refused to time shave. How dare you. I never yelled or belittled my employees I led by example and got great results. When I left 2/3 of the crew walked as well.
If the restaurant can't be bothered to have filtered tap water, who is to say they have filtered soft drinks either? Many fountain drink dispensers have water dispensers on them.
I've worked at a buffet and have seen people do the grossest shit, don't even get me started on how many times I had to yell at grown ass adults to not grab the food with their bare hands...... Yet I will still eat at A buffet lmao
As a Chilis employee don’t use the blank condiment bottles those don’t get cleaned but the retail bottles are bought in bulk (at least at my location) so they’ll get thrown out and replaced with an unopened fresh bottle. Neither is completely germ free (nothing is) but the retail bottles are safer for consumption cause they’re not refilled.
I worked in a local bar and grill too all of our bottles were washed out when emptied and cleaned in between tables (in a commercial dishwasher) then filled with new stuff from back storage. The risk is the spout touching a contaminated surface and not being cleaned properly or contaminated storage but there are ways minimizing that. I think now though our food regulations here (because of that) means every new table gets packets or a sealed bottle and anything unused is destroyed after the meal.
Any establishment that can't provide water cleaner than my own home provides, isn't one I want to eat at. If they can't provide that, what else are they skipping at?
People don't change their gloves when switching stations or task, nor is it enforced for customers (usually). Dirty gloves are more cross-contamination risk than dirty utensils and is really good for illness outbreaks. Its just window dressing and they teach you this in safe food handling courses.
I usually offset the buffet and ketchup bottle concern by using my non-dominate hand to pick the buffet utensils/ketchup bottles up and then eat with my dominate hand. I've got to hand it to you though, these are some handy tips. Although the hands down best piece of advice I can give you is to wash and dry your hands right before you use your hands to eat, because I wouldn't want to be caught red handed eating with unclean hands.

Idc about the bread basket.... if I'm at texas road house, I'm eating that bread!
I like Hometown Buffet and I love Golden Corral.

I’m still eating from the bread basket, even when it’s bad it’s still pretty good because it’s BREAD
Yes, there are a number of places where their bread is so good, I doubt it is getting returned.
Hell naw ain’t avoiding buffet I love it 😍
I literally could care less about the buffet and the ketchup if I want it imma eat it as long as it ain't expired

Wait, so you're saying to never order ANYTHING from McDonald's? The wording's a bit off.
@@durandlewis1382 this is just my opinion and what I saw during my time there

Uhh so the avoid the buffet part I wonder if afterwards you all understand most buffet places now make you wear plastic gloves when using the utensil

do you take showers with your mask on?
It's the fact that these companies/staff are consistently doing this is the problem.
One time I went to the Pizza Place and the plates weren’t even clean
I detest buffets for all the reasons mentioned. No thanks. Gross.
Ok good luck in life being worried about everything
If you must dine out, choose deep fried. Safest bet.
The buffet can be a very dangerous place indeed !
