Oh gosh sweetheart!!!! You all have more patience than me!! I would've thrown them into the rose bush very early on! I love the relationship all of your family has! Missed seeing the royal fur babies! Hope you had a good break!! When you were fast forwarded talking I nearly lost it 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Loosen the strap at the back, it doesn’t need to be too tight. I’m actually using them in a daily basis and I used them on my 1.5k swim, just adjust it properly. What’s good about it iss the adjustability. The string nose piece can be adjusted by turning the goggles.
Swedish goggles fit my face better than any other goggles. Arena Cobras and Speedo Fastskins are so flat that my eyelashes rub up against the lenses. They also have a limited number of choices for the width of the nose bridge. Sweedish style goggles allow you to custom adjust every pair.
I got a pair of mirrored Swedish goggles for Christmas a year ago and I tried them at warmup... THEY WERE SOOO UNCOMFORTABLE! I had to stop after a 50 into my warmup! I was kinda sad cause I really wanted them to work, so you’re not the only one😂😂
Wow your parents are nicer than me. We never gave our kids spring break when we homeschooled. Keep up the good work my daughter loves your videos and as a kids coach I like to use them for my kids.
I was starting to have major problems with eye puffiness from standard goggles with gaskets, so I tried the Swedish goggles and they solved the problem! I think it really depends on whether your eye socket shape is a good match for them. In my case, I can get a great seal with just a fraction of the suction I needed with the standard goggles, and no more prolonged puffy/irritated eyes.
You can fine-adjust the nose bridge length by twisting and untwisting it (it does require disconnecting the strap, but allows for finer adjustment than just moving the knot).
Hi! I love your videos and was wondering if maybe in the future you would be able to do a video on some tips for bettering your backstroke start because mine really REALLY sucks. You have some awesome pointers and I find your vids very motivating and inspirational. Thanks :)
I'm training with Swedish goggles on a daily basis and I've been training with them since December last year. I thought that they were uncomfortable at first but when I started to get used to them they felt more comfortable. Today I feel like it's uncomfortable to wear regular goggles. However, when I first got them I couldn't dive with them and I could barely push of the wall cause the straps were to weak and they ended up leaking. I bought extra straps from arena that I nowadays use with my Swedish goggles, and now I can dive and push of without any problems. The only problem is that they can get quite foggy sometimes, and I wouldn't recommend using them for competing since they can get really uncomfortable if you tighten them to much. (Also, I'm Swedish and here a lot of my friends use them) :)
Unbelievable video you did I'm impressed. And I was surprised I mean the spring break vlog in California was incredible outside of Stanford University. And by the way can you do a vlog of you and Anna doing a first impression at Stanford Aquatic Center and Cal Berkeley plus Cal.
Your thoughts were different than mine I think they were uncomfortable for the first day but then they were better and mine were way different than yours mine you completely put them together and this allowed u to be able to have them fit u perfectly and mine do so yours must have been a newer version and my Swedish googles stay on better than regular ones so I think the kind u get definitely changes how they work so ya but thank u so much for making this video!❤️
Thanks so much for the info! I didn’t realize how much better Swedish goggles could be based on the brand. I just thought they were all pretty much the same. I’ll definitely look into another brand to try in the future! 🤗 What brand do you use?
Those googles looked so uncomfortable! I have seen people at my swim club ware them and now I am so confused on why. Hope you have a great spring break!!
I used swedish goggles a lot and i really like them, the sporti goggles meh i don't really like them but you should try another brand of swedish goggles, they are so comfortable.
Yup the joys of building Swedish goggles. Also tried them when I was younger, what a faff to build, only reason I got them as they were super cheap at 99p and the guy that lead our lane wore them for training all the time, dunno how and safe to say I had no eyes left after 25m swimming in them. They got filed in the bin. Goggle tech nowadays is so much better nowadays.
If you want more comfortable one's get the tyr socket rockets, they have a padding on it that doesn't dig into your eyes and buy them with Bungie cords it's way more comfortable They're about $5 so still pretty cheap 😄
SwimLifeGuru i mean, its technically engineered to reduce drag and not having rubber cup around the goggles. Lets just say its an alternative way of low profile goggles. :D
I really like them and I wear them to every practice accept for starts because I'm scared of them falling off. But I think that these are comfortable when you don't tie them that much. Oh and it's important to figure out who big the gap between your eyes is so the nose piece fits perfectly and don't squish your eyes or get water in. Best greetings from Germany👋 (And I'm sorry for my bad english😅)
I have like 3 or 4 pairs of sweedish goggles and I love them. But they are more expensive because they have rubber instead of being just plastic on your eyes I think that's why their more comfortable
I hope you don’t give up on swedish goggles just yet. I think some are made better than others and at times, you’d have to file some of the edges out so it’ll fit your face better or more comfortably. Speedo has it’s version and I find it to be alright. Blueseventy has the nero elite which has a different strap orientation on the side of each lens which i really like. I think, unless you’ll be diving, you don’t actually need to wear it real tight. It should just have enough contact pressure with the skin around your eyes such that the skin (or fat) forms a good seal with the lens. Might be better to wear under the cap or just double cap to keep the straps from moving (thus causing leaks) when you’re streamlining. Hope this helps. :)
Really good points! Thanks!! I definitely won’t give up on them, don’t worry! I do plan on trying some other brands now that I’ve heard the Sporti ones aren’t the best. 👍🏻❤️
That seemed to be really tough...are these a thing now? Anyways, I am not so sure we need these...looks really uncomfortable. Or is it just that model? (Sorry, I am confused).
They were made as an alternative to the super old-fashioned/huge goggles about 20-30 years ago. Back when goggles were first coming out, these were also made, and they were so much smaller and more low-profile than the huge scuba goggles of the time. Nowadays, I think they’ve lost importance with the more advanced goggle technology we have now. But yes, definitely a real thing and actually real goggles! 😂😂😘
With the nose bridge make them pretty tight and the goggles should be pressed hard on your face. They should be tighter than normal goggles and get them with a bungee cord. Some people’s faces just don’t create a seal like my dads. It depends mostly if the gasket can fit in the eye socket. Hope that helps. Your vids are awesome.
Hi there, i'm afraid you did some mistakes with those swedish goggles... First, the tube and the rope is tricky to setup because it must exactly fit your nose and eyes distance. So you better do with the rubber strap. Second, your rubber strap was too loose, and so the goggles were so much separated. Rubber strap allows you to exact fit your eyes distance, and depends also on head strap tightness. No perfect fit equals to a lot of water in your goggles... And third, you don't put swedish goggles on by first placing goggles on your head and then set the strap. Instead, you first place goggles directly on your eyes, and the set the strap on your head. Thats all :-) Sorry for my english.
So I actually wear these all the time and prefer these... reason being they are more lightweight, and I find actually suction better to my eyes, however you don't wear them tight, they just sort of rest on ur face b abd suction well.... however I will say that this one's made by sporti aren't as good mainly because where the strap connects to the eyepiece is higher up so it puts more pressure on the outside of your face and takes less from the inside of the corners where it's needed to stay suction to your nose the ones made by malmsten AB are the original ones and are much better my opinion also bungee straps relieve a lot of the issues that these things have
Awesome advice! I’ve heard from a few people that the Sporti brand aren’t as good, which I didn’t know before, so I’ll definitely try out a different brand in the future! 👍🏻 What brand do you use? 🤗
SwimLifeGuru I use either the speedo brand, witch comes in packs of 2 (because they have s license to sell the original ones), or the original monterbara brand...if u look up "original sweedish goggles" they are the ones that come up..a company called Malmsten AB...now I will say my parents madee get these after losing a ton of goggles, and they hurt for about 3-4 days...but j swear if u get them tied justttt right...they are the most comfortable things ever after u get used to them
SwimLifeGuru I also use the arena ones, because they have this trippy vision thing that let's u see directly in front of u while looking down, and has a little bit of silicone on the plastic where it touches ur eye...I really enjoy ur content! Keep it up!!
SwimLifeGuru also this Maybe a little extra, but a fun thing u van do is buy a blue and a red pair, and tie one blue and red cup together, add a white bungee and have a red white and blue pair😂😂👌
I agree. I think it fits best to specific face contours. Regular goggles don't work well for me because their form doesn't inherently sit well on my nose ridges and brow ridges. Having it so adjustable makes it great for me. Swedish goggles are great for Asian features because most common goggles are designed predominantly for Caucasian bone structures.
Pure swedish I agree not comfartable at all ...after some use water enters in. The good point is they are really light. At least one should buy the ones with rubber inside the goggles the Tyr Swedish Socket Rockets for instance are good...
They're also similar takes on this but without the hard plastic so without the discomfort two particular ones are there tyr socket rockets in the arena swedix
They are not supposed to be that tight! The first days are not very comfortable because your face is adjusting to them, but then is way more comfortable to train because they don't suction your eyes and they have a bigger view
1) the head strap is the last thing to assemble. 2) put the string inside lenses and plastic tube and make a loose simple knot, like in your video at 3:07 (but without head strap!) 3) lean them over your eyes, by keeping them by the sides (keep the plastic pieces where the holes for head strap are, between your index and thumb). 4) Adjust the lenses over your eye sockets and make sure that they remain attached to eye socket by themselves creating a small vacuum. (they must remain attached for at least a few moments) 5) That is the right distance between the lenses! Now, keeping the lenses in that exact position, ask another people to tie a secure double plain knot. (you can do yourself but it's much easier with an helper) 6) Now that the lenses are at the right distance, you can put on the head strap. It have not to bee too tight. It works like other googles. Is the vacuum that ensure to keep the water out, the head strap is only for keeping them in place when when subjected to solicitations. with the piece of strap in place of string it's the same. Just play with nose piece and head strap lenght until you get a good suction. In your video, the head strap was toooooo tight. I hope this helps you, bye.
To assemble =/= to put on. It takes five minutes. For gasket goggles it is the same. You have to find the right nose piece (serious goggles come with interchangeble nose pieces) and adjust the strap. Plus swedish last forever, they are much cheaper and, since they have not a frame, the range of vision is wider. In short, if you don't like them, don't use them but, since they are one of the most used type of goggles, they are very effective. To state the contrary is objectively false.
You win this time Rosebush
It looks so pretty there! Have a nice spring break!
Thanks!! 😇😘
I love your channel. I’ve been subscribed for 3 years and you’ve really helped me with swimming.

Yay for the early squad!!😘😘 Thank you!🖤
WHO ELSE THINKS THAT SHE SHOULD ADJUST THE BACK ok thats all no hate
Adjust the back? Do you mean the straps? I’m definitely trying to learn from everyone, so please explain!😘😇
Loosen the strap at the back, it doesn’t need to be too tight. I’m actually using them in a daily basis and I used them on my 1.5k swim, just adjust it properly. What’s good about it iss the adjustability. The string nose piece can be adjusted by turning the goggles.
It is so pretty there! This video made me laugh so hard Anna is so weird and funny 💕😂😂💕you guys are great 👍
Thanks!!❤️ Anna is such a dork omg😝😝😂
Swedish goggles fit my face better than any other goggles. Arena Cobras and Speedo Fastskins are so flat that my eyelashes rub up against the lenses. They also have a limited number of choices for the width of the nose bridge. Sweedish style goggles allow you to custom adjust every pair.
Good to know! It does make sense that they would be a lot more customizable for people who have trouble finding good-fitting goggles. Thanks! 🤗
Anna should be in every single one of your videos
I got a pair of mirrored Swedish goggles for Christmas a year ago and I tried them at warmup... THEY WERE SOOO UNCOMFORTABLE! I had to stop after a 50 into my warmup! I was kinda sad cause I really wanted them to work, so you’re not the only one😂😂
Hahah!! At a swim meet warmup?? You’re brave!😝
No way! Haha it was at practice but it still sucked lol
I use swedish googles for training since I started swimming. I like these googles because their are cheap and fit very good on my eyes
Maybe they just fit differently for everyone? I’m glad they fit you so well! That’s awesome! 🎉🤗❤️
Awesome editing‼️
Wow your parents are nicer than me. We never gave our kids spring break when we homeschooled. Keep up the good work my daughter loves your videos and as a kids coach I like to use them for my kids.

Oooo yes! I’ll definitely do a backstroke start video! ❤️❤️

i’m in palm desert for spring break too! also i was thinking about getting swedish goggles but i never knew if they were good but now i know.
Fun!! It’s so beautiful here😍😍
Swedish goggles is unique. Never tried one but, i always see those kind of goggles.

No. You don't have to look at another brand. I wear all of them. But you do need to learn how to wear them. It's not complicated.
Yup the joys of building Swedish goggles. Oooo thanks for the suggestion! I do need to try out some other brands!! 👍🏻❤️
I think some wear them because its a low profile goggles and it doesnt use the suction tech. Its like a straight forward goggles.
A confusing goggles...😝 They didn’t seem very straight forward to me lol😂❤️
SwimLifeGuru i mean, its technically engineered to reduce drag and not having rubber cup around the goggles. Lets just say its an alternative way of low profile goggles. :D

Thank you so much!! I will!😇❤️
Your and inspiration u inspired me to steer my on UA-cam channel your so amazing
You should try the same model but some more modern, like the Arena swedix. This model are very famous and still used by many professional swimmers.
Thanks so much! I’ll check them out!❤️

I use them a lot but mine are like $15 and I prefer them over my speedsockets

Can you do the FINIS back stroke start wedge please I have a really bad back stroke start and I would like to know if it works
Ooo that’s an awesome idea!! Definitely!👍🏻👍🏻

Can you try vorgee goggles?
i love vorgee goggles theyre reALy similar to speedo vanquishers tho
Omg!4:10😂😂😂😂
You should try the better quality Swedish goggles: mp chronos
They are not supposed to be that tight! The first days are not very comfortable because your face is adjusting to them, but then is way more comfortable to train because they don't suction your eyes and they have a bigger view
Good to know! Thanks! I’ll definitely be trying out another brand in the future👍🏻
Tell me why I got a giggle cleaner add for this video
Oops sweetheart! It's me groovyjudi just with a new name!
1st comment😊
👍🏻👍🏻😘
I am from sweden🇸🇪❤️👍🏻
Awesome!! 😜😘
There Swedish goggles at the swim store I go to.
Do a review on the arena pythons
100% never make the band to tight on swedish goggles unless u have the string tied at the bridge, then its fine I guess
Lucky I’m back in school :(
That sucks😝 Your spring break must’ve been a lot earlier!
These are my go-to goggles every day. They are way comfortable. You guys have no idea what you're doing. A couple swim Jerrys.
Not sure what “swim Jerry” means but I’m assuming it’s an insult... 😜😂
People also use them because they're literally indestructible
😂😂 Really??
SwimLifeGuru yes, I have seen people run over them (LOL) and I've known people who've had the same pair for 5 years
I have Swedes that are more than 15 years old. I love all of them.
Can you do a Hot or Not on the Roka Swim Goggles please?
You did all wrong.
What did I do wrong?? Please let me know! 😇😇😘
1) the head strap is the last thing to assemble.
2) put the string inside lenses and plastic tube and make a loose simple knot, like in your video at 3:07 (but without head strap!)
3) lean them over your eyes, by keeping them by the sides (keep the plastic pieces where the holes for head strap are, between your index and thumb).
4) Adjust the lenses over your eye sockets and make sure that they remain attached to eye socket by themselves creating a small vacuum. (they must remain attached for at least a few moments)
5) That is the right distance between the lenses! Now, keeping the lenses in that exact position, ask another people to tie a secure double plain knot. (you can do yourself but it's much easier with an helper)
6) Now that the lenses are at the right distance, you can put on the head strap.
Awesome, thank you so much!! I’ll definitely give this a try! 👍🏻👍🏻
Scottie Ferguson ah here why on earth would you use these contraptions over a normal pair of goggles.
Steps to put on normal goggles:
1 - put them on.

Try them with a bunjee
both of you dont know how to use the swedish goggles
