Thanks! :-) This was one of my favourite effects too! It was simpler than you might think - the salt lamps were placed over small holes in the stage, underneath which were LED lights. These lights were plotted into the whole lighting plan and controlled on the night by the lighting techician. But I prefer to think of it as Prospero's actual magic!
