Anyone notice that Peggy is sitting with her arm stretched out with a cigarette, just like the way Don’s silhouette is at the end of the opening credits?
@@alexjames4770 No he became and abusive dick on several occasions. Someone telling "lets pretend I'm not responsible for every single thing that ever happened to you" is not a good friendship. Don't throw your desperation at other people.
@@ykMMD He is trying to keep her from leaving him all alone. If you rewatch the scene where she resigns, he actually goes through all the stages of grief while coming to terms with it. His entire life was falling apart and she was the one person he could consistently rely on. @@cduncan6182 nah I'm pretty well versed in the series....it's just that the way you talked about the character made her look like she's was a kind of mother theresa, wich obviously is'tn true. work ethic was not much of a concern in the series actually...maybe you need to watch again

One of the best friendships I’ve seen on tv.
Yes, having a friend being super paternalistic and throwing money at your face is top 10 friendship lol.
@@ykMMDthey have a good friendship, Don just became extremely desperate to keep the one good friend he had left close.

Mentor Mentee relationship. She became his equal eventually because she had the ethic, and innate talent that flourished. What a journey.

Don’s not a perfect mentor but he’s the right one for Peggy
Is that the music for Casino Royale? I wonder how Don would like that film!
Don lived a lie living with a dead man's name.
Since it's about multiple fake James Bonds trying to find the truth, it's probably somewhat applies to Don's identity crisis.
Those cigarettes burn incredibly slow.
Props
So does everything else about them...
That superb Bert Bacharach 007 film theme at the end!
Why the repeated mentions of Megan?
She was friends with megan before Megan even knew Don. Even Sally was friends with Megan when Megan had barely become Don's secretary
Don would go watch French new wave art films during the work day in season 1. Peggy is just becoming Don.
Lol she was startled
