    I realise that this comment is very late but I had to comment. I have a Cut N Boss which, due to four massive strokes, as a result of systemic lupus, I'd forgotten about!! However, I'd also forgotten that I'd ordered one of the new "Anna Griffin Empress" machines from QVC U.K. Watching & listening to your vlog, two things came to mind. If the Cut N Boss was already on clearance back in 2016, maybe it hasn't been such a success. I was appalled to see Teresa Collins herself on a vlog talking about the difficulties of cutting intricate or thin dies in the C.N.B. & we were being instructed where to place dies that matched either description on the plate so that it would at least cut a little better. She literally just passed off what is a design flaw as a foible to be tolerated!! Now to the Empress. It, apparently is very popular already as it cuts both types of "problem" dies perfectly (although I got it on sale it is now selling at around $280, so I suppose it better be good!!). However, if anyone is considering getting an Empress, you would need a crane to move it around it's so dreadfully heavy. So heavy, in fact that even though I would like to try it, I am cross that one can't remove it from the box without help. We lived in the U.S.A. for almost 20 years & I want to let my American fellow-crafters know how lucky you are with a plethora of craft stores to choose from (as well as the ubiquitous HSN). Btw., Felicia, I appreciate the time & tips which you share so generously with us all - Thank you!!

    I have beat myself up because I couldn't get out to find one of those machines. I wrote to the company and they told me that they could not help me on line. They told me to contact the stores to see if they had any more of them at the reduced price. Bottom line, I didn't find one and then I heard various crafters say that they are so glad they didn't buy it at full price because it really doesn't cut that easily. Now you are saying that it really needs all those other plates which I would also have to find and purchase. That is A LOT for this old girl. LOL!!! Thank you so much for all of the information.

      So sorry you couldn't find the machine locally. I didn't want this machine originally then a day or two later decided I did and was glad it was available. When you called the stores did you provide the item number? When I called the first time I was told none was available but I called back the next day with the item number and my store had 2. I hope I didn't imply that other plates are needed as they are optional. Non-intricate dies work just fine with the plates that came with the machine. I wanted to share that other plates work in the Cut n boss and that I was able to get good results with my most intricate dies using those other plates. Their are many different types of sandwiches that can be used (concerning any machine) and some work better than others so I wanted to share what sandwiches gave me good results. Poetspice commented that she is destashing her machine. You might check with her if your interested. In my opinion this machine is great and it is now my go2 machine. Thanks always for sharing. Blessings...

    Awesome tips Felecia! Thank you for sharing them! Congrats on finding the perfect machine to use to die cut when your having problems with your arm! I would have picked up two of them too! It's always good to have a backup, especially when you can find a sweet deal & can pick them up on clearance!! Enjoy your die cutting & I hope your arm gets better soon!! Have a great week! Take care!

      This is now my go to die cutting machine. I can't believe I waited so long to get an electric one. I think every crafter should have a type like this one. Thanks friend for your sentiments. Blessings...

    I also love this machine. I have had it a long time and it is my go to one. I love the size and I use it with all my dies. For intricate dies I always use the magnetic shim and it cuts the doily die like butter. I also have the Spellbinders tool and it's a must have. I bought the Sizzix one but found the bristles too far apart ( but love the small braver).

      I love this machine so much I purchased two just in case one goes out. I can't believe I waited so long to get an electric machine and yes I use this one ALL the time sometimes just sending one small die through. Thanks for sharing. I tried to message you privately but your channel doesn't have that feature. Please email me at biblescraps@yahoo.com as I like to share something with you. Blessings...

    Interesting I sm going to give dryer sheets a try and see what happens. I have not had any trouble with intricate dies yet so I wonder why everyone has issues....

      Do you have any doily dies by Cheery Lynn? If so have you tried them? The cutting results depends on the papers and dies used. I chose the two dies I did because these are my most intricate dies I own and if these dies can be cut out then any dies I have can be cut out given of course the right sandwich. This machine did a better job cutting out the doily dies than my Big Shot Pro with my super tips. In all fairness to the machine, most crafters expressed issues cutting out the doily die no matter the type of machine used. This machine is great and I hate I waited so long to buy it. Like me I'm glad you are enjoying your machine. Blessings....

      Yes I have the same die you have by cheery lynn. I have a few of their other doilies also. I will try them out tonight and let you know how well my dies cut out.

    Wonderful tips i have both those machine the grand calibur which has develop a kinda of a problem with cranking it thru it skips or catches a couple of time sending it thru. Also i have the the cut n boss which i had paid 60 dollars for it but sadly no.. dang I wish we had better stores here in Ont Canada then just a crappy Michaels. I would so love to have a JOanns or a hobby lobby here but no. So I have all those plates you mentioned I will have to give it a try. I have the tool in one by spellbinders but I love the toll that sizzix came out with better I find it works better and it also comes with a mat and when you use the loose pieces from the die sticks to the mat as you run the brush over it while it on the mat. Thank you once again for a very well done and informative video. Take care and have a wonderful day. Mary katherine

      Hi friend. Long time no write. That is great you already have the other plates. Yes, give it a try and let me know what results you get. I sure hope this video brings new life to your machine. I'm really loving this one and the deal was fantastic. And I hate to add salt to your wound but we just got a Hobby Lobby that opened the other day, lol. Look forward to hearing back from you. So, question, first thank you for the tips, if those methods do not work, just got a new doily die, is the die more then likely defective? Tried 4 cutting machines changed paper thickness different sandwiches.

    Thank you for doing this video. I bought one after I wore out my Grand Caliber. I really miss my Grand Caliber, but I can't always crank the handle, that is why I bought the Cut Emboss on Create Craft. I can't get it cut dies, so I got a Big Shot. We shouldn't have to use other plates from other machines. It should cut dies as the manual states with plates given. This machine is a piece poop! I regret spending $179 and buying this machine.

    • @biblescraps
      @biblescraps  8 років тому

      You are welcome Karen. I'm sorry you paid so much for it to only have cutting issues. I hope you find these sandwiches beneficial. Yes, you do have to spend money on buying accessories but in the long run the benefits will outweigh the cost. This machine is now my go to die cutting machine and I hate that I waited so long to purchase it. Had I known back then what I know now I would've paid full cost. Anything to relieve my hands and allow me to craft and write more. Thanks for sharing your sentiments. Blessings...
