I will get the Tecnics EAH-AZ100, and probably way too many others. I have been looking forward to the AZ100 even before the official announcement. I find myself loving the AZ80 even though I have the Denon Perl Pro, Bowers & Wilkins PI8, Status Between 3ANC, and way too many others. So I am expecting the AZ100 will be great. Just need to decide if I want the silver or the black. Cheers!

Same, i've got the AZ80 since a few months and i will upgrade to the 100 as I have an opportunity to return until end of jan. AZ100 have been ordered as soon as they on product list. Waiting for them, probably next week 🎉 Great review 👍🏽
Many are sleeping on the Technics headphones & earbuds. Ever since I switch to my AZ60M2s from my galaxy buds pro 2, I've been loving them! I know I'm still rocking out the AZ60's, but I really enjoy them. I have owned Sony, Samsung, Beats, Soundcore, and other brands but I still choose Technics. Straight out the box, they are good. But once you activate LDAC HiRes on them and tweek the sound settings, they are Amazing! I did get some foam tips for them to make them sound better and to make sure they stay in place when going beast mode at the gym. Yes, the size are on the bigger side but I got used to them quick. Best bang for your buck for a pair of quality earbuds. I can only imagine how these new AZ100's would sound! Awesome review Mark!
AZ80 were already great, definitely gonna get these, technics listen to their customers and have apparently made changes like improved ANC and improved bass extension in the sound.
Good to hear as these are the key issues I hesitated getting them as I want that flexibility to crank up the low end and a decent ANC. So I'll definitely get these.
The sound quality from these Technics earbuds is truly astonishing; I'm incredibly impressed. They offer excellent value for the price, excelling in all areas and boasting several useful features. The sound quality is exceptional -I'm at a loss for words to describe how good it is. The noise cancellation is also quite good (an 8 out of 10 for me), especially considering sound quality is my top priority. Call quality and noise cancellation have improved significantly from the AZ80 model. They are even more comfortable, and the volume level is much better, overall, everything is improved. I'm very pleased with them, and l'm still in the process of breaking in drivers.
Technics make some incredible head-fi technology. The AZ80's are the best sounding TW Earbuds I've heard, followed really closely by... The Samsung Buds Pro3 with an EQ Preset I found. I agree that there is a compromise to be had between the Sound Quality and the ANC, and they aren't a patch on the standard defining Bose Ultra's, but Sound Quality and ANC combined, it's pretty freaking awesome. I have an addiction so I own about 5 pairs right now, and I'd probably have my Bose for when I Fly, and the Technics/Samsungs for everything else.
When I was a little kid in the early ‘90s, I remember my family buying an awesome stereo system with a 6-CD cartridge player! It was made by Panasonic Technics. I thought they were long gone, as I haven’t heard that name mentioned in over a decade. Interesting! 😮 I’m such a Mac lover, and I’m ready to purchase the AirPods Pro 3 as soon as they’re released. I currently use the original AirPods Pro with my M4 Mac mini, and they’ve been doing the job just fine. Cheerio from Marin County, California Mark!
Fantastic video as always, az80 has been on my list for a long time, but it is changing to az100😁 the same problem is with the Philips Fidelio T2, I haven't found any reviews so far, I'm satisfied with the sound and the choice of materials, the only drawback is that in the transparent mode they lose the sound quality, which probably it can be fixed with software. I would really like one of you to make a video about them and hear your opinion. Greetings and keep it up👍👌🇷🇸🇦🇹
I have the AZ80's and am on the fence regarding upgrading. I wish they had a trade in program like Samsung does to provide a less painful path to upgrading. For the time being I'm going to wait to see what the other high end players come out with this year.
Are they louder than the 80s? I use the Devialet Gemini II. Love their sound and that I can go louder than what I normally use. Vs with the 80s I felt i.needed another click or 2 of more volume.
Awesome review again Markus! Nah, the reason they ain't on my list (but I truly wish they could be) is that they don't support Aptx and my phone doesn't support LDAC.... Absolutely gutted!! 😭
I’ll probably get them when they’re available, in a few months, I just bought the AZ80 in December. Still can’t get a hold of the Pi8. I’m worried about the size of this new ones. They seem very small, the AZ80 fit great for me.
Technics were the best hifi makers in the 80s/90s imo. Thought the name had been put to pasture by Panasonic as they also faded. Good to see they are back with the quality products! Too rich for me so will stick with my Samsung Buds2 for now. 😺👍
Hello, Mark I want to ask you one thing I have an az80 The only problem is that the volume is too low I want to know if the az100 is as weak as the az80 or loud enough as the gemini or svanar wireless
I would like to know as well. My Denon Perl Pro are the only ones I own that play loud enough for recordings that are quiet. I'm definitely intrigued with the AZ100.
Is this just straight up better than the AZ80 in terms of sound quality, ANC and comfort? And they beat the 1+ Buds Pro 3 in every way? And the Jabra Elite Active 8 Gen 2?
Wonder how these compare to B&W ,, I own a pair of sennheiser CX plus true wireless which are brilliant esp sound stage only problem was issue with one of the ear buds giving up so recently had to buy a new one ( was my left one ) but always wondered about what to replace these with esp as I lost confidence in sennheiser products esp when you read lots of others with the same issue , so would love to have the same or better then the sennheiser but with better build quality
Hi Mark great review mate Been debating getting some AirPod pros recently for walking the dog in the morning, out and about listening and occasional whilst tattooing or when my girlfriends watching her stuff or gaming..would you chose these over the AirPod Pro2 or would you stick to Apple? Thanks 🤙
I believe he addressed that it wasn't as good as the Pi8's in his written review but not on this video, if that helps. Not sure why he didn't mention this here. I would say az100 would be a great choice for anyone that doesn't have the pi8 or Gemini 2's and don't want to spend the money to do it if they can get Near the same quality for less. I was given the AZ60 for Xmas, I asked for them as I didn’t know how good they’d be. I really love them, apart from one time when they lost connection. When I opened them I learned the are made by Panasonic! So I was instantly on the fence, however they did not disappoint. The sound is great, Hi-Fi like in the 80s-90s and noise cancellation is decent. Wonder if it is worth getting AZ100? I saw no much difference on the review apart from AI voice focus 🤔
Can you do an update on how the AI voice feature sounds? I saw that they put out a firmware update to increase the quality. I’m curious how it sounds versus this
I love my pair of A-zed 80’s lol but the only downfall is the my voice feature. The background noise takes over my voice according to my Gf when she calls.
I've had my 80s for just over a week and am very impressed with them and have an option to get a refund or exchange them for the 100s question is should I? Cheers
@@jasonMB999 honestly I didn't think the step up to the 80 was anywhere near justified. The 60m2 comes with additional eq settings on the app such as superbass same as the 80s. The deciding factor was fit but there was nowhere near enough difference in sound to warrant the extra cost of the 80s. Have never understood the lack of love for the 60m2, hands down best ear buds at the price point
Hopefully no static on these as I already bought them and now I'm waiting for them to arrive. Had buds FE with incredible annoying static that made them unusable for me with Anc
Exactly the question I want answered. Control wise and app support is gonna be oneplus all the way, but if I'm prioritizing comfort and sound quality (including rich detailed treble response) are the az100s going to be much better than the lovely oneplus buds pro 3?
Weird suggestion, but try to remove eartip and carefully clean the small grill with cotton bud. You are not the only one who have this problem, and weirdly it worked for me.
I just checked the official website and it's kinda hidden but the lower numbers are for using LDAC. So they're both correct, just depends on the codec. The AZ80 drop to or below 5hrs which I always felt was rather meh so that's good news.
how does it work with ios? i am an ios ecosystem “prisoner” and have the usb type c pro 2 but still looking for something that can improve the bass output…i mostly listen to edm with a bass heavy track selection
How do these compare to the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 earbuds? (£160), for classical, female vocals, jazz, hip hop.. Using uncompressed lossless with LDAC (I'm also using aptx lossless which on my Sony Xperia 1vi sounds better than LDAC).
What you know actually hurts less than what you don't know 😂. ... At least when it comes to my pocket. Real life too, but that's a conversation for another day. I found myself spending more when I didn't know than when I did know.
Mahalo that’s so awesome I’m gonna order one. That casino test was amazing no background noise at all. That put me over the top. Again Mahalo for the great review
I've got the AZ80s for over a year and really liked them (although I always missed something) and thought they sounded absolutely fantastic until I got the B&O Beoplay EX on sale a few weeks ago. The Beoplay EX and Elevens literally destroy the AZ80 when it comes to sound quality. I'm really interested to see how the AZ100 performs but don't think I would be go back from B&O after owning their H100 headphones and the EX (maybe Eleven in the future) earbuds.
Sound Quality... B&W, Sennheiser M4, AZ80... For me, Denon Pearl Pro blast them all... Maybe B&W in certain way, but still Denon the best in sound quality. PD: apple, Sony, bose... Maybe the best in technology, but very far behind in sound quality. Very far.
@bidzam that price is a joke for the sound it delivers... Surely this 2025 something interesting is coming. I have tried almost all top recommended sets... Denon still the top choise if you search only sound quality. That's my priority.
I have both the 80 and now the 100. Are the 100s better in a lot of ways? Yes, yes they are. In every way but one. They don’t have crisp clear highs that tickle my brain like the 80s do. So for me, they will probably be going back. Could I fix that issue via EQ? No. Adjusting the eq doesn’t make the highs higher they make the highest highs louder. These will be going back. I also don’t think the bass is as clear as the 80s. The bass feels muddier.
Ngl I am not familiar with many other brands besides AirPods, I got the AZ80 recently and I wasn’t impressed. The sound is very flat for a 300 dollar pair of earbuds. The aesthetics are very nice 👍🏻 but the earbuds definitely lack performance for the price point. I found the dynamic and bass+ were probably the best option for music but even then lacked something. I hope the AZ100 is not just another cash grab!
I can guess that it does not make any difference, and if you give an earphone to someone who does not know that it contains a driver like this, and Sol thinks that it is just a normal 1DD driver, and in the end, if it is compared to other things, it does not excel, so what is the benefit of the technology? Is it a technology or a marketing tool?
LOL C'mon Bro, these earbuds suck. I spent a relaxing six-hour flight to Vegas yesterday just messing with the EQ, trying to find some kind of decent sound. Turns out, they're totally better than... well, nothing, I guess? My EarFun Free Pro 3s sound better. My Momentum 4 Truly wireless blow these out of the water ....they're not even in the same league. Seriously, every "reviewer" is just hopping on the current bandwagon that currently exists about these for some reason. They're so worth $300, they're actually going back today. Because I know of $80 earbuds that I'd rather have than these.
I guess the end of the conversation on the hype is that once you get through with all the hype...the bottom line is that they are still not better then the Pi8's( as you confirmed on the your written review of the Az100 but I didn't hear you address in this video) or Gemini 2's if you already have one of them. Now if you told me that they were better than them and cost less ...then you got me. Now if you never bought the Pi8's or Gemini 2's, I truly think these are the best thing going for those people. Its just a mute item if you already have the best.
Appreciate you tuning into all of the content ;) As for the differences between the Pi8 and these, it's marginal, sound-wise. The big differences are the design, case, and audio retransmission for the Pi8. Otherwise, it's brand preference.
B&W and Sennheiser are the most overrated sound companies. B&W has always been and now that Sonova bought Sennheiser, their sound has went from audiophile to consumer. Technics are a true audiophile company and the AZ80 is the best sounding wireless earbuds hands down. No contest. Except for their now-released AZ100’s which are supposedly a huge upgrade! B&W, Sennheiser, Sony, Bose are all consumer sound with the first being the best of them…but Technics are audiophile.
Yea AZ-100 sound good like for a for bluetooth earbuds but there are some downsides: 1) Cannot turn them off without putting them back in the case. 2) Cannot switch between EQ modes directly from earbuds, you need to do it on the app. 3) LA audio mode/codec, which suppose to enable low latency is actually increasing it on my PC so you get lip sync and no point using these for gaming. 4) They are not connecting to my apple watch which has the same 5.3 bluetooth version. Instead they connect to my iPhone. They basically don't show in apple music app on apple watch. This was my main use case, use them with apple watch while leaving iphone at home during sports. I think I will return them. They are good but also bad in a way.
Sorry, these are not impressive. When connect to my Apple Mac M3 playing NetFlix or UA-cam the audio is out of sync and there is no way to fix it. This is bad... just is not in sync … how are you justifying sound quality as superb whereas a simpel audio video sync is so bad. Then sound quality means nothing … so back to my sony mx4…
£259??? Nope, not for me on price alone. I don’t care how good they are. I have a couple of pairs of Soundcore A40s that I am really happy with. The A40s these days go for about £50 on offer so why should I pay 5x when I have good active noise cancelling at £50?
Just because they both have noise cancelling doesn't mean they're in the same class. The quality let alone noise cancelling between A40s and these are unparallel and vastly different. It's not even comparable lol. If you have to ask why you would pay 5x more for top of the line, most premium earbuds currently in the market, then don't get it if you don't think it's worth it in your financial situation. Your ideology is like saying, Why do I need a Porsche when I can buy a Honda?
Which earbuds are you going to buy in 2025, and why?
AirPods Pro 3 because I’m American lol😅
i just order liberty 4 nc 😀

Hopefully no static on these as I already bought them and now I'm waiting for them to arrive. Had buds FE with incredible annoying static that made them unusable for me with Anc
Can you confirm if the bass is deeper and more powerful?
The AZ80 does feel balanced and nice, but I do like a bit more bass rumble and feel.
AZ100 or Sennheiser MTW4?
THX
Are these headphones better than oneplus buds pro 3?
Exactly the question I want answered. Control wise and app support is gonna be oneplus all the way, but if I'm prioritizing comfort and sound quality (including rich detailed treble response) are the az100s going to be much better than the lovely oneplus buds pro 3?
I've had the AZ80's for a few months and the left bud went quiet. Lost bass, volume went down, etc.
Hopefully warranty will get them changed.
Weird suggestion, but try to remove eartip and carefully clean the small grill with cotton bud. You are not the only one who have this problem, and weirdly it worked for me.
Confusing battery life. 7h/18 ANC on instead the Technics stated 10h/28 so which one is the correct one?
I just checked the official website and it's kinda hidden but the lower numbers are for using LDAC. So they're both correct, just depends on the codec. The AZ80 drop to or below 5hrs which I always felt was rather meh so that's good news.
how does it work with ios? i am an ios ecosystem “prisoner” and have the usb type c pro 2 but still looking for something that can improve the bass output…i mostly listen to edm with a bass heavy track selection
works without alternatives on the usual AAC codec. to be a prisoner of iOS, it is your personal choice😂😂
Voice Focus AI is built in the ear buds so it works on both Android and iOS? Not like the AirPod Pros that “Voice Isolation” only works with an iPhone
Yes, it's a feature of the buds - not the phone you're connecting to.
Mahalo that’s so awesome I’m gonna order one. That casino test was amazing no background noise at all. That put me over the top. Again Mahalo for the great review
Are they good enough to go up to 11?
Yes.
Same here.. you can't go out from the sound signature of B&O. Fantastic !!!
2025 - The EAH-AZ100 with spatial audio optimised for Dolby Atmos.
Will be available for RRP £259 / €299 from Technics’ official retail site.
Are they the latest best ever lol
I bought the AZ80 a week ago ☹
I've also bought the AZ80 last month and no option to return or replace :(
Sound Quality... B&W, Sennheiser M4, AZ80... For me, Denon Pearl Pro blast them all... Maybe B&W in certain way, but still Denon the best in sound quality.
PD: apple, Sony, bose... Maybe the best in technology, but very far behind in sound quality. Very far.
Got Denon Pearl Pro for $150 last month and WOW. Hard to listen to something else after trying them.
@bidzam that price is a joke for the sound it delivers... Surely this 2025 something interesting is coming. I have tried almost all top recommended sets... Denon still the top choise if you search only sound quality. That's my priority.
You are costing me money> I ordered these and they arrive tomorrow.
Enjoy.
I'm gone need the ANC to match bose or sony.
I love the way the az80 sound.
But I'm gone need ANC to rival Bose.
I tried these on a shop few days ago, Bose still has far better ANC, but az100 is close to Sony, much much better than az80
Too bad it's not getting sold in my country (The Netherlands) yet
10.5 hours with ANC on not 7.
Sound quality: bose qc ultra vs jabra elite10 vs 1plus buds pro 3 vs az100?
Great sounding, but good luck if you need to return them under warranty
Yea AZ-100 sound good like for a for bluetooth earbuds but there are some downsides:
1) Cannot turn them off without putting them back in the case.
Everyone has a different experience
40Khz? 🤣
20Hz to 40 kHz… I don't believe it
Your ideology is like saying, Why do I need a Porsche when I can buy a Honda?
too bad you can't change the Q on the EQ, as you can with the NOTHING EAR 2024
