Listening to Simms talk about Jeudy just enrages me at this point. I actually like the podcast and the stuff he does on PFT but I'm just worn out now by the Jeudy stuff. Hamler and Tee Higgins above him is truly remarkable. Jefferson is not better either, few think it and he wasn't the go to option on his offense. Has Simms heard of Ja'marr Chase or nah? Justin Jefferson is a good player, belongs at 4 or 5 on the list, he ran the same few routes over and over again, did it well but not well enough to displace Jeudy in my opinion. Also irritating how anyone could be so ignorant as to suggest that route running is so imminently coachable that anyone can learn it. Why do they even bother drafting good route runners if it's so coachable. It is coachable to an extent that's what it is. Jeudy takes it beyond that extent with what he can already do. Give me the elite technique guy with good physical traits (Jeudy actually ran a sub 4.5 40) instead of the guy with unreal physical traits and above average technique, the guys who seem to bust are the physical freaks. Last year Bosa with the A plus technique and good physical traits vs a Montez Sweat who ran a great 40 and tested off the charts, Bosa is 10 x the player Sweat is. Jeudy's strengths you can predict fairly confidently will carry over, he will always be a terrific route runner, he'll always understand leverage and how he can best utilise it. This unlike physical traits which don't always transfer because as you go up the level everyone is a better athlete than at the college level, sometimes they can overcome it but if that's all they have they'll likely struggle.

@@jeremyjones290 I was big on Jeudy before the media hyped him up. The reality is Jeudy is the most polished and advanced of all the receivers coming out this year. Also, if you're looking at numbers, you're evaluating talent in an ineffectual manner. Jeudy can do things no receiver has been able to achieve consistently, and already runs routes so well he would undoubtedly be in the top 3 of the best route runners in the NFL as soon as he's drafted. I love Cee Dee and Justin Jefferson, but Jeudy is a different kinda cat.

LOL at Tee Higgins having any chance of becoming the next Megatron. Bro what are you smoking? That really makes me think you have no idea what you're talking about. Lost a hell of a lot of credibility on that one bro. Almost didn't even respond when I saw that, but the other ridiculous stuff you said just needed to be addressed. Most of Jerry Jeudy's receptions are body catches??? Are you serious or you just playing around? Because one highlight reel video of Jerry Jeudy on youtube proves that statement as utterly false. Lastly, you keep saying how the majority of media has a clear cut favorite, that being Jeudy, but I don't think that's true at all. Chris Simms is just one example out of many in the media who think Lamb is a better prospect than Jeudy.

Jerry Jeudy is like OBJ but superior to him in most categories, but at the same time runs routes as good as or better than Keenan Allen. All in all, this is a player that will be far better than OBJ and Keenan Allen, and has a strong chance to eclipse the numbers AB put up, during his peak a few years ago, if he goes to a good team with a solid QB and functional offense (good compliment WRs, solid Oline, at least an average run game).

It is fascinating to me some of the different profiles I've seen on Jeudy. I think the thing people are maybe missing with Chris is that he clearly values extreme evident physical gifts. Jeudy doesn't necessarily have any that jump off the tape as far as size and raw speed (i know he is a great route runner and is actually quite fast, just talking tape speed) and Chris really values that stuff. He had DK Metcalf over Hollywood Brown last year I believe and that's because of the "unteachable" qualites DK has. Now Jeudy being out of the top 5 i do find ridiculous, but I have gotten used to what Chris looks for. In almost all positions he looks for raw unteachable talent versus players who master the small things

Brobsty I respect that, Julio is a GOAT for sure but on the panthers or broncos Ridley would be the #1 and have a 1000+ yd season as well (has more TDs already) and Jerry to me is more explosive and definitely more dangerous in open space. Chris, I know you are very familiar with Notre Dame football. I really like Chase Claypool, as I know you do, but I'm hesitant on him because of the similarity I see to EQ St. Brown. SO CHRIS SIMMS you said less than a month ago "Claypool is a first round talent"(which I strongly disagree with), and according to this Jeudy was your 6 I believe... So does that mean Claypool is your 7th wide receiver and that you believe all 7 belong to go in the first round?
Also, you think Claypool is better than guys like Reagor, Mims, Pittman, Shenault, & Aiyuk?
P.S. HOT TAKE: Higgins is going to have a fall similar to Jaelen Strong. Higgins runs acerage speed, with poor routes, had routine drops at times, and really did not show up against good teams. He is a contested catch artist.

Elite physical traits as a WR doesn’t equate to being better and Jeudy isn’t a slouch he tested very well at the combine, I like Jeudy as an Alabama fan and he was our best WR which says something because last year there were potentially four first round WRs on that team. One of my concerns is that he drops some passes. It’s funny that he has Lamb at one which I have no problem with but what is his elite trait, I thought he was a beast but at the combine he was 6’2 198 which I thought on tape he was like 6’2 and at least 210 and he ran a 4.5. When you look at the top WRs in the NFL that past couple of years, Deandre Hopkins wasn’t recognized as an elite traits guy, nor was Michael Thomas, nor was Antonio Brown, they all ran in the 4.5s I believe. The only exception is Julio Jones.

Simm's is definitely a better analyst than he was a pro, but i think Ahmed did him dirty with that comp!
I think people forget Simm's wasn't spectacular but he was solid his first year starting, & he was on track to at minimum be lower level journeyman starter or top tier backup & I think if he had continued progressing he could've been a top 15 to 20 QB for 10 to 15 years. Then he lost his spleen, lost all of his momentum & obviously his position on the depth chart. Then he missed I think almost 2 full seasons & he has said it took years for him to regain his arm strength which was probably 1 of his best attributes as a QB.
When people comment about his TD/interception ratio for his career it's pretty skewed pre spleen he was pretty solid, post spleen he was always coming off the bench in garbage time as a 2nd or 3rd string QB in garbage time & mostly surrounded by other benchwarmers & backups.
In 2005 his 2nd year he started 10 games threw 11 tds to 7 interceptions 2 of those ints came in games he came off the bench in garbage time he had 61% completion % & they made the playoffs after a poor start to the season before he was starting. I think that's a pretty good start to a career, & he was progressing. Then after the spleen he only threw 1 more td to like 8 ints. I think without the injury he would have been solid.
