I think you should have gotten more into how it's different from the E-100, as it was popularized by World of Tanks and War Thunder (the latter even has the Mausturm, so one could even argue the WT E-100 isn't even the E-100). From what I understood, the only differences include the turret and the suspension variant, and that I gleaned from the comments, not the video.
Im with you on wanting to hear differences, but in an objective sense it is best to talk about only this vehicle. An encyclopedia article should talk about what it's about, not something else. The reader can tell the differences by reading both articles. If you start talking about how Tiger Maus is different to E100 you have to do that in both articles, and repeating the same information twice in two different places is a bad idea, at least for an encyclopedia. In terms of a one off video yeah differences would be nice, but considering this is meant to be part of a larger project it makes sense why they left it out.
@@biscuit715 That logic makes a lot of sense, yes. Might have been cool for the sake of the video, but I get why it would result in a never-ending redundancy for the encyclopedia articles. Cheers, and thanks for the reply.
A long time ago I read a theory that Wa Pruf 6 endorsed the Tiger-Maus specifically to undercut the Porsche Maus, as they wanted nothing to do with Porsche's tank designs. The article suggested that Wa Pruf 6 had decided that if Hitler was determined to have 100+ ton tanks, they at least wanted some say in the direction of the project which they absolutely would not get with Porsche being involved. Remember that Wa Pruf 6 had cancelled Krupp's 80 ton Lowe in the spring of 1942 for being too heavy, approving the lighter Tiger II in it's place. For them to perform an complete one-eighty and endorse the even heavier Tiger-Maus within six months of that decision doesn't make any sense unless they were trying to impose some form of control on a "rogue" development program that had managed to outflank them - which is exactly what Porsche had done by taking his Maus proposal directly to Hitler. If true, the Tiger-Maus was a project born of politics and it was killed by politics - basically Porsche had Hitler's ear so his project was going to go ahead no matter how hare-brained it was and Wa Pruf 6 just had to suck it up.
Bigger tank, bigger target. Not necessary to penetrate it. Just damage the tracks/drive sprocket. Let the Air Force finish it off. Or let it get stuck or collapse a bridge under it.
So... I am corrected wrong... the Maus II turret was NOT used on the E-100 ? And the original 205 turret was? LOl.. confusing help ! Otherwise thanks .
I have only one question. So, the Tiger-Maus had a Porsche Maus style turret but in reality the torret of the Tiger-Maus was exactly the same as the Porsche Maus or it's basically a similar turret?
Here is an idea for future videos. Let's have one on the designs presented by Turdinand Porsche that weren't dismal failures/doomed to failure. I realize the Tiger Maus wasn't his design, but the Maus was, and because he had Hitler's ear, it got the nod. IMO that man did more than any other single person to bring about the downfall of Nazi Germany.
Can you make a video about the Panzer III/IV (the Real design,Not the wargaming design) and discuss it's utility? Because i would like to learn more about this project

No. Tiger-Maus is the predecessor of the E-100. The Tiger-Maus was the competitor of the Porsche Maus, not the E100. The Tiger Maus had an early style Maus turret (curved front), the E100 had a lightened Maus II type turret (angled front). The Tiger Maus had torsion bar suspension.
I really wish Mr H hated Porsche instead of loving him. A lot would change, if Porsches experiments and prototypes never came close to becoming reality.
As a side note. THIS IS NOT THE E 100
Indeed

could you do an article on the various KV-4 proposals? The KV-4 is really interesting. Apparently there are over 10 proposals

Basically a minimal different E100 hull with a Maus turret

This and the Maus 2 should both be a thing in warthunder. I don't even play germany but these massives would be so fun to fight and see.

Shame the better design didn't prevail. Can't help but think some of the weight would have been saved with sloped armor, especially on the turret.

Strange they struggle to get the power out of the machines why not just use a aircraft engine?
Size, shape, different torque constraints, cooling, etc...
Late war German tank design just gets more and more disappointing...
