depending on the firing order of the the engine you should have 1st and third on one side and 2nd and 4th on other , yes it makes the piping harder but it will make it run a lot better as it gives better cylinder scavenging (pulling inlet charge in using the exhaust pulse ) 1342 1&4 - 2&3

Exactly what I said, he's not preformance minded, and barely mechanically inclined.
He's highly intelligent, and has great ideas, but he's actually afraid of going anywhere near the capability of his creations.
Even though he's got over 650,000 subscribers, and should be making some serious pocket money, he unfortunately tends to take the cheapest options just because it's his nature I'm afraid.
He doesn't market himself nearly as well as many with far less subs than he's got, and that probably hurts his potential income from UA-cam, and merchandising sales which he has little if any of that.
Lotta things he could be doing to promote his channel, and himself he doesn't do, whether he's not interested, not motivated enough, or doesn't understand the true benefits of all the above.
Some times highly intelligent people, have the brain's to do great things, but don't have the common sense to do many things to help themselves in many ways.
Fact of life, and no I'm not putting him down are being disrespectful, just explaining what I've figured out about how he is from watching his channel from the beginning.
Watch long enough, and what I've described will clearly be evident.

To cover up the holes in the center console but still let the shifters move, you could use something commonly called "shifter bristles" or "shifter brushes", they're those stiff hairbrush-bristle-like things that surround the shifter stick so nothing goes underneath, but when you shift the stick just moves past in between them and the bristles interleave behind the stick as it goes , so nothing falls inside

you can also use Nitrile washers or O-rings to keep from cracking the Plexiglass as not to stress the glass as well. I would use under the bolts and between the glass and frame.

The addition of some type of rubber bushings in the shifting mechanisms sure sounds like a good idea. Especially to us headphone users.

That scrap header you bought is most likely from a boat. the extra pipe is to prevent the water from going back into the engine.

I would recommend for your cover panels to use countersunck socket head screws. To give the ultimate clean smooth finish. No shard edges when resting arms on the panels, or your knee hits it.

Honestly keep it NA, no need for a turbo, recently i've been watching a lot of Matt's Off Road Recovery videos and i cannot get over how reliable are the vehicles they build, just a simple recipe, LS, no turbo, not chasing power but torque thru gear reduction is the way to go. Great job Chris, love the Plexiglass idea

You should consider installing a H-pipe between your left and right exhaust pipe. There is a reason the stock pipes had an X in them. It has to do with scavenging the exhaust gases from the cylinders into the exhaust pipes.
It's like up draft on a wood stove.
The way you are setting it up you are preventing the left side of the engine from providing draft to the right side of the engine and vise versa.

If you're super worried about the heat from the headers to the trans you can always wrap them in heat shield. Makes a big difference.

  • @swaits4no1
    @swaits4no1 9 місяців тому +9

Add a cross pipe (H or X) you'll retain close to factory exhaust... they are all connected to keep cylinder pressure the same. That is important... and I think you answered your own question about the junk yard pipe.. "why if you, need to go from here to there, why all this?" Same reason you went around the support bar, and also to keep the exhaust nearly equal length

For your arm rest, rounded head with allen key may feel better on your arm .... also when tightening them down (suggestion) use blue locktight on the bolts and rubber washers. If the plexiglass is mounted too tight to the frame, vibrations and micro flex, will shatter it.

You should add some rgb leds in the chain tunnel and under the dash and stuff with some rgb rock lights too. The colored light coming through the plexiglass would look rad.

Doing a Turbo setup doesn't mean its gonna be unreliable. The most important thing to have a good, reliable turbo setup is the proper turbo for the engine and making sure the engine is built for boost. Plus you shuldn't get a trubo from with thats gonna explode at the slightest hint of boost. Anyway. Great Video!

Such a god idea with the clear panels! Displays all the tech goodness, but keeps things somewhat clean, and hands / legs safe.
Will get scratched to hell, but hey, so will the metal. That's just cool patina from use.
Exhaust looks killer! More packing means more BACK PRESSURE, which means CARB TUNING! Have to adjust the air/gas mixture, and maybe timing.
You gonna be running rich with them on. Ahh, this is all standard knowledge. Very cool. Gonna be more comfy without the ear-splitting noise.

As long as the engine is not revving a long time while parked, there should not be a heat problem. If the tank doesn't leak and is not under a lot of pressure, there is no danger from hot mufflers.

  • @TheTruthBeToId

Adding a connecting pipe to the headers would be neat for the scavenging and adds a deep tone to it but it's not necessary, what would help is some header wraps to prevent excessive heat.
