    Why can’t RTÉ/GAAGO create a dedicated tv sports channel & have all GAA matches shown on it? I’d be happy to pay my license fee for that over the usual shite you see them trying to peddle.

      Because RTE would rather show a movie we've all seen a hundred times before and bleed us for €160 for the pleasure.

    GAA isn’t the only sport in Ireland but it’s the most special and it’s ours. We should be celebrating it and be proud to showcase it at all times.

    Hurling is the quintessential Irish game, it should have priority. Why so many counties don't play it is a divine mystery.

    Virgin having a discussion about GAAGO and criticising it while they show no GAA themselves and only have time for rugby and Premier league football.

      Exactly! GAA Go is a great service (myself and my husband avail of it when there's a game we can't physically attend) but it would serve all the whingers right if they pulled the whole thing. On second though, would it? Because it's generally the people who don't avail of these things that do the most moaning 😊

    I'm sure the next Limerick match is behind a paywall too, pure greed from the GAA it's an amateur sport not fair on kids or elderly and even those who go to the pub have to endure the poor quality of the app

      Are the cameramen or commentators amateur? Incase you're not aware the answer is No! But shor let's send them out to all the games for GAA Go and not bother paying them because the selfish Irish people think it should be free. I guarantee the people moaning all have Netflix and it doesn't cost them a though when the bill arrives.

      @@tracydriscoll7689 a few points...1. I'm aware that the camera men and commentators are not amateur but that's irrelevant to my original comment they could be paid to commentate on rte 1, 2 or the rte news channel which sometimes shows matches simultaneously. 2. The 'selfish' Irish people are already paying enough for the TV licence and not getting good content in return and good for them if they can afford Netflix too. 3. You spelt sure wrong 4. You a clown. Good day to you

    the fans have to boycott the games behind the paywall,that will put manners on the bean counters

      Cop on! Should we all boycott Netflix because they have the cheek to charge for their streaming service? The audacity and sense of entitlement of the Irish people when it comes to the GAA is mind blowing.

    I would be inclined to believe RTE when they say they would have no capacity to show the match were it not for the fact that they stand to profit by not showing it.

    Why not put them on RTE. Think of all the wonderful womens GAA matches we now have on RTE .

    No one is happy with this, hopefully the govt will force the issue, if RTE cant show all the games, TG4 and Virgin will be interested,

    GAAGo is a scam . Rte is a scam . Both together is a shakedown. The right to show games a cosy placement without other bidders or options. Tv licensing or the new version, for what ? How do we benefit from that 🤷‍♂️ The whole amateur shite about Gaa , it’s a pro set up albeit without paying players 😂

    • @tracydriscoll7689
      @tracydriscoll7689 20 днів тому

      GAA Go a scam? RTE is, I'll give you that. But who says you have to avail of the streaming service? Last I checked GAA Go was a choice. But maybe in your area it's manditory 😊

    According to Dr Jordan, the games are merely a "product", and the GAA is right to maximise their profits. I’d like to put that one to Jarlath Burns! Jordan, of course, completely missed - or simply didn’t know - that most of the (may I use the word, “employees?) are not paid, even the high-performing ones like the players. What other company in the world can manage that? Complete nonsense by Jordan, of course and the presenter/host was also completely out of his depth.
