I’m 62 yr old and I rock this song. People look at me at the red lights jamming to this & probably thinking I’m nuts. But who gives a dam what they think, I’m jamming.
Incubus will always be that one in a million band. Back in the late 90’s early 2000’s their sound was so distinctive, just listening to the first few seconds on every song you knew it was Incubus. And still here in almost 2022, their sound has been almost impossible to replicate.
@@prodNievagood thing about LB is that you still know it’s LB when their new songs start playing unlike Linkin Park and Incubus who changed for the worse
I was at the show where they filmed this video. It was in Bakersfield, California. I've recently re-discovered Incubus and am surprised at how well their music has aged. Cant stop playing MAKE YOURSELF...
Years later i finally grasp the wildly evocative concept of these lyrics. as someone who has been struggling with a myriad of health issues, both mental and physical, when you find out you're actually showing signs of improvement it feels a lot like regaining a limb. Like the lock on a part of one's self has finally been shattered. Nice to know you, goodbye!
"So could it be that it has been there all along?" the best part of the song i love brandon voice damn he keeps me tuned in i love incubus and will remain a fan forever.
The lyric about how much this feels like a waking limb, pins and needles....is honestly one of my favourite lines from any song ever. It's the most perfect metaphor for so many situations in life. Perfectly encapsulated in the song :D
Brandon is such an amazing poet/lyricist. This song just feels so deep. Funny how he described the inspiration for the song - he fell asleep on his hand whilst on an airplane and it stayed numb for a long time, then when the sensation started coming back, the feeling was just indescribable. Lol
Would you mind explaining what that line means? English is not my mother language and despite knowing the literal meaning of each word I can't seem to find the whole sense...
@@adolfomarin2098 To me the song is about spiritual awakening, or gaining a wider perspective on the world, connecting to something bigger than ourselves. Brandon compares the feeling of "waking" in his spirit to an arm or hand that was numb and begins to regain feeling and sensation.
These guys are so good live it is ridiculous. Especially when you realize the level of technical difficulty. Their music is deceptively complex, specifically Mike's guitar parts and the effects he uses. Despite all their success, I still think they are criminally underrated.
I relate to incubus on a spiritual level. always listen to them when I'm going through tough times..Brandon boyd knows how to speak to your soul. and so does the music. collectively.
i see what you did there. also a good band my friend!I can totally agree and relate to you listening to incubus during tough times. Justs brings positive emotions / vibes and makes it easier to get through them moments

I was there too. I also got to go the preshow where they did most of the close up shots. We were all standing behind them. They also played a few songs for us they didn’t do at the show like 11am and even jammed on some covers.
