- In this video, I'll share a bit from my one-week driving tour of Costa Rica. As this was my third time here, I thought avoiding the most touristy locations, such as Monteverde, La Fortuna, and Arenal, would be great.

I came for the photography videos. I subscribed for the humor!
My wife and I just got back from Costa Rica. Unbelievably beautiful country!
I moved to CR last Aug and can 100% relate to the GPS lies! LOL
Anyway, great video and lovely photography. It's amazing how good cameras are just so much better than our own eyes. Sounds like a dumb statement when I write it, but when you are witnessing something so beautiful in person and then you get home and look at the pictures, a lot of times they can't compete with your memory of the experience. However, with a good camera it can give you a sense of awe and wonderment. You get to then say to yourself, "I can't believe I actually saw that!"
Such diverse wildlife in Costa Rica. Such beautiful and colorful birds. Great video, Omar. Thanks for taking us for the ride.
Wonderful work! The shots are amazing and the cinematography was just that. Bravo!👏🏼
Takes me back to my trip in 2021. I love CR so much. Amazing food, gracious people, spectacular wildlife and landscapes. Also, Adobe rules - definitely the rental company to use.
This was fantastic. A different format than your usual, and you absolutely killed it. Wonderful job!
Beautiful wildlife photos Omar!
Perhaps you already know but the Quetzal is Guatemala’s National Bird (I’m Guatemalan) so really cool that you mentioned that according to the group it’s guaranteed to find one and you did without the tour :)
As always in your videos, I enjoy the funny side of you 😂
Keep it up!
follower here from Costa Rica! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
So much fun to watch, Omar!. I went to C.R. last year with a small group. A special hide was built for us and a natural nest and perch for the Quetzales. We also drove way before sunrise, set up and waited and waited for the male and female to come in and out of the nest to feed the chicks. It was So worth it!
sounds amazing!
The colours are breathtaking 😭✨
Gee Omar, you take “us” to the most beautiful places.
So glad I’m subscribed to your wonderful channel-I like your humor-And stunning photos!
Yes, go for the heat and humidity and the tripping and almost falling-😂 fun, fun.
I loved the "we" references, only to see that you were traveling alone. And I was almost crying laughing when I was watching you climb ( sorry! 😂) to the waterfall holding onto the rope. (I did that in Canada once...not fun). You always make me laugh. Another great video, Omar.
That hammock on the balcony at the birder spot, sigh...you'd find me there. That spot by the bridge...I would have wanted to pull over too. That bird sound had me thinking Hunger Games. What a spot...love to get there someday, the roads though, yeesh.
Wow... beautiful Costa Rica !
Incredible shots Omar!! Now adding Costa Rica to my travel list 😍
Images are stunning!!!! Congrats.
Careful Omar, you will become hooked on bird & wildlife photography 😉. What colourful birds you found. 👏
Thanks for the trip back to Costa Rica! One of my favorite places! Great shots and video!
I just hit the like button before the video started!😂❤
Impressive photos, just wow!!!
Those colours are amazing… what a fantastic trip
Love the editing and the pictures are just amazing! thanks for visiting my country.
Wonderful video, great photos! Makes me want to follow your footsteps.
Wonderful video Omar. Thank you.
That was wonderful- thank you!
Thanks Omar. Great video and fantastic wildlife photos. Great ! 😀
Superbe. The country have stuning places with a large variety of birds and oher animals. The colours are beautifull at stills and the filme is great. I saw two lenses... all zooms? And the big one was? The images of the dead corcodile being eated was completely out 😮
Looked like an amazing trip, Great photos!
Amazing. Beautiful birds! Probably one of the best places you visited I guess.
Thank you Omar for this video! It was very entertaining, good humor and the pictures and videos were beautiful, super sharp: it was like being there! I really enjoy it! Now you should tell us which camera it was, lens? Nikon...but which one? Best, Olivier Mannie, Belgium
Thank you for a great video. I actually went to Costa Rica about 6 years ago on my honeymoon and am now divorced and with someone else. My point is that we need to travel and enjoy life to the fullest and that's what you're doing here. Thanks for the inspiration
Im loving your travel videos! Wonderful work!!!
Astonishing pictures and video, Omar! Thanks for sharing.
Stunning imagery
Better you than me. Very happy to stay home and cozy warm inside looking out at the snow.
That was fantastic...thank you
lovely trip. I'm very jealous as I'm not allowed out on my own these days let alone leaving the country!!!
Beautiful trip, fantastic photos !
Beautiful video! I wish you can visit us next time. We captured 50+ birds this morning in a photo tour!
Sounds great!
absolutely beautiful images!!!!!
Great video! Thank you for sharing! Heading to Costa Rica in June and really looking forward to it. What camera do you use for video?
Forgot to ask, how did you come up with your itinerary? Great places.
Awesome video, thanks for sharing. Question though. How challenging was the humidity with your cameras? Any tips?
No issues unless there is air conditioning. Camera is weather sealed
Such a beautiful place 🙌🏼
never understimate the power of 'presas' while driving here :D, but you gave me a few ideas a weekend off doing something different.
Some great stills, and lovely video. There was plenty of "Quetzal" to go around for everyone. [I zipped across the Costa Rican border when we lived in Panama many, many years ago...but, I didn't even get my passport stamped (it wasn't an official border crossing place)]
Hey Omar, thanks for sharing! So cool :) cheers
Best travel video ever!
Beautiful video Omar! Fun to see you rockin the Shimoda as well (I think). I just bought the Explorer 35 v2 just before I watched it funny enough :D. You passed my fav flowers in the world looking for the... "Ketzel" (sp?)... Barbados Paradise. Love the music and edits in this one, outstanding job! Thanks for taking us on your journey. ...Oh, and I think the "bluebird" had just watched Close Encounters of the Third Kind :b.
Wow, just wow...Amazing video. (Seeing the conditions of the roads, I felt like home - Hungarian countryside, lol)
love the barenakedladies reference :)
Haven't you always wanted a monkeeeeey?
I arrived on the 13th of this month for a ten day stay. Immigration line was snaked to about 10 bends, which f'd up my plans. Two hours later, I left Alamo with my 4x4 and head to Sarchi I was way behind schedule to Aguas Zarcas where we'd spend our first three nights. La Fortuna was only a hr drive. We got caught on the 708 when night fell in a harrowing drive. I actually rigged the challenge as well as driving through clouds and mist down to hwy 1. towards Monteverde. Been to CR ~ 30x. Next time, likely a car drop off in Puerto Viejo, and back to San Jose before departure.
The birds were amazing, but the headless crocodile! Oh!
Superb !
Wow, what a place.
Man, you covered a LOT of territory! Fun to see it all. Was your 400mm lens all the lens you used for these photos?
Beautiful photos and video! National Geographic quality!
Thx Omar!
Thank you!
Omar this was exquisite to watch the beautiful cinematography is like wow! As one from South Africa I would say you would enjoy an almost similar environment in a place called Mpumalanga (loosely translated "where the sun rises") great nature there and also a place called Drunkensburg with great views to. One more thing I think if you do create a book of your content am sure it would be fascinating to see you tell a story in print of your journeys, just saying. I Loved watching this video. Absolutly beautiful work bro.
thanks....South Africa some day!
Hi Omar, saw your video while searching for more info for our upcoming Costa Rica trip in July. We are also booked at Laguna del Lagarto. :) Would you care to share how much the night tour is? Did you try the vulture blind? Would you have the cost of their tours in hand to share? Thanks!
Great video Omar, I loved it. What camera did you use for this trip?
Z8❤Zf
Omar, I am the Fuji fanboy who always gets a little sad when you aren’t covering our favorite cameras but this is amazing! 😂😂😂
If the X100IV is official come next week, I think we’ll see Omar covering Fuji’s again
Phenomenal!
I am going to CR in couple of weeks, which focal lengths (prime FF) do you recommend I bring for these bird shots? Thanks
Oh, forgot to ask: would love a quick review of the 400 4.5. Did you use a TC? Would you rock that again or take the 180-600 or perhaps 600 6.3?
Coming
Omar as always great video's, photos and narration of your trip. Question, how safe did you feel travelling without a guide or tour company? I speak Spanish, so I am sure that help you.
Safe. No worries.
Great videography! Beats wedding and Bar mitzvah photography, but doesn't pay as well.
Great great great pictures and videos. Stunning. At which frame rate did you get the slowed down ones? 60? 120?
4k120 mostly...z8
Fabulous
Purita vida!
Great Video!
The sound of the bird is like the mocking Jay from hunger games
Myadestes melanops we call it jilguero de costa rica
Did you heard the pajaro campana?
How do you get permission to go on a solo holiday? Is it a "business trip"?!
Incredible video Omar. Images and videos are stunning.
Best wife ever 😂
Pura vida
Wish to share the photo gear you used? Just in case I get permission to do a solo photo trip there.😂
Separate video coming
Great video. I am considering a trip to Costa Rica. Did you have any trouble with the police? Any language barriers?
I speak Spanish. No police problems.
What month was this?
January
Hay dadiga man wala gid ko padaog sa kontra ko tama kadamu sa ila!
Hey Omar! another great video with tons of great footage. I was wondering how often you used the binoculars in addition to your camera. I always tend to just go out with my camera+telephoto. Did you find the binoculars helped you spot things better than just looking through the viewfinder?
Z8 viewfinder was better and more stable. Nocs just out of habit
Holy monkeyballs!
Thank you so much. Well done !
Superb video, Omar! Love the photos. Expect National Geographic to come calling. 😎
Great video Omar!
Great vid Omar! Thanks.
But like…. How were the bugs ?? And all the deadly animals that could kill you with a sting ??😭
Bug repellent and boots 😂
great video!
thank you for taking us along! I have to admit that I laughed my a$$ off with the Beavis and Butthead segment. 😂
…stunning, thank you so much for sharing this….
Omar, your videos are amazing.. and you are so funny 🤣🤣🤣
