- This is a portrait of Shirley Sullivan, an 82-year old New Jersey-bred grandma and American Coaster Enthusiasts member who joined in 1989, produced by Meg D'Elia and Ella Blau. A special thanks to Meg and Ella for providing us with, and producing, the video! We all hope we can get to Shirley's age and still have a deep passion for roller coasters - it's what we are all about.

This is amazing. At 82 she's still going on the big rides. I've been a coaster enthusiast most of my life and now at age 58, I have trouble riding roller coasters. My body can't handle it like it used to. Some of us are lucky! Good for her!
The term 'life goals' gets thrown around a lot these days but this is genuinely one for me. The main reason I want to be alive into my '80s is so that I can experience all the incredible new rides that are around in the 2060s.
The important number here is not 82; it’s what her coaster count is! Rock on, Coaster Queen!

Who else was naming the coasters through the video?
Damn she is my inspiration. Hopefully sometime this summer I will go to Blue Bayou / Dixie Landin’ and go on Ragin’ Cajun (the Vekoma Boomerang) but I am nervous because I am afraid I won’t like it. I’m so excited for it, and I don’t want to get off of the ride, and not like it because it is such a big step from a kiddie coaster (about 30 or so feet tall which is the tallest coaster in my area). Wish me luck I guess.
