Absolutely incredible sized trees for zone 7! I also live in zone 7 and I have a small trifoliate orange tree. I love the trifoliate orange and its hybrids - the taste compromise is fine with me if it means growing citrus outdoors here!

@@sweethomealabamahomestead4504 I'll be crossing my fingers for you. I'm growing in southern NY state; lowest temperatures we had this winter were about 3°F, but there's been huge swings in temperature which killed off some smaller seedlings down to the roots.

I sprouted some seed from mine for the first time this year and they are doing great but I did not hand pollinated so don't know what they crossed with just the mother fruit. I'll do more videos as they start to come out so everyone can see how they did. I think we need to share what works and what does not to grow this his far north.

Beautiful trees! Thank you for sharing.
I am on the border of zone 7B/8A up here in Chesapeake, VA. I just put my first 4 citrus into the ground this year in a microclimate against the South side of the bricks on my home.
Two Meyer Lemons (Copies on their own roots that I made... so they can come back) and two satsuma Mandarines on Trifoliate.
I also have two seedlings of Thomasville Citrangequat in containers that will find a home in the ground when they get to the right size/age.
The only other citrus I aim to acquire is Yuzu.
All of my trees are under frost jackets and have some of those wonderful C9 Christmas lights on them. They are running right now actually!

I hope you do too! Mine were fine down to 12F several times last Wonter in the same area but in pots with the same protection they have now. Those C9 lights bump up the temps 20F under the frost jacket probably.

I wound up moving three large 15gal container trees that are 1st year/sensitive up between the Meyer Lemons... then adding a second massive frost jacket layer on top. I hope that will do.
I don't have the time to hunt down and acquire some barrels. It is supposed get down to 12F in a few days... and my actual temps are usually about 5F colder than what they predict for my area since I live out in the sticks away from the city and bay/ocean.

I live in south Alabama in zone 8b, I’ve seen several of these citrus trees around town in peoples yard, not sure about varieties though. I see one yard with a large grapefruit tree. I think most are Meyer lemon trees and maybe some cold hardy version of orange.

I think you all down there can grow satsumas which are better then anything we can do this far north. I did not know of any real grapefruit that can grow there, so that sounds neat.
