Regarding 5:19, the element Tantalum is named after Tantalus who in Greek Mythology was King of Phrygia. Tantalus tried to trick the gods into eating his sacrificed son Pelops whom he disguised by cutting up, boiling and serving to the gods during a banquet. For his punishment, Tantalus was imprisoned in the realm of Hades where he was constantly hungry and thirsty although a tempting fruit tree was above him and a stream of water was beneath him. Food and water were thus denied him forever. Tantalus' daughter was Niobe of whom the element Niobium is named @ 7:22. Niobe was Queen of Thebes in Greece. Niobe offended the gods Apollo and his sister Artemis by arrogantly boasting that Niobe's own children were more important than Leto who was the mother of Apollo and Artemis. Apollo and Artemis took revenge on Niobe's disrespectful insult of their mother Leto by irately killing all of Niobe's children with their bows & arrows. Zeus then turned sorrowful Niobe into the Weeping Rock at Mount Sipylus in Turkey.

Really interesting video, Sal. I work in the semiconductor industry. Tantalum is a material we run into all the time, which is funny because it’s far from a common metal lol. Molybdenum is gaining interest in the past year or two & may show up more in the coming few years with the most advanced technology. Same for Niobium. That is also one which started showing up periodically about a year ago. Definitely possible Mo & Nb in particular might see increased demand if chipmakers have success with them in the current R&D stage.

I want a one ounce rhodium bar. I’m just afraid that no dealer or shop would ever want to-buy it if I ever need to sell it. It’s expensive but if you buy rhodium by the grams your premiums are 5 times higher than gold or silver.

Tantalum is required for every cell phone's memory retention. Germanium may soon be unobtanium as may dysprosium found in mainland China. They had Halfnium, not anymore. Most are about double spot but nobody sells these in tiny quatities except Rhodium perhaps. Thanks Sal. 💋🐥

Apart from to other individual buyers ‘Technology Metals’ (which is what we’re talking about here) only have resale potential in large quantities (typically $10k or upwards depending on the metal) to specific refineries. And they require recognised certification. However…… some of these are worth serious money and are becoming more sought after year on year. Please do your own research folks and please don’t forget some of these are TOXIC ☠️☠️☠️

    Cute....
When I was a kid, silver was around 3 Space Bucks an ounce (Give/Take). So it Was still a lot of Money and a Big Deal for an 8 or 10 year old kid to buy some Silver. Man I was living Large buying my own 10 ounce Engelhard but remember being unpleasantly sidetracked by the Coin Shop Dealer. He's like how about this 1 ounce of Rhodium (He wanted like 300-350 for it).
    1) Never heard of this "Rhodium" stuff.... looks like Silver to me (this guy trying to rip me off or what?)
    2) The 40 or 50 Space Bucks for the Silver was a Lot of Money for me then (I was a kid)
    3) 40 years later of Regret... As an Adult, I see that I did have a chance at Going Wild... Saving Money and buying a couple+ ounces of Rhodium. Had a decade or two Before the Price went to the Moon
So Boys and Girls... with that in mind.... 100% GUARANTED there are Deals to be had on owning Exotic Metals. Problem is.... Which ones? I don't see Exotic Metals being traded on any Exchanges simply due to their rarities (Maybe in EFT's or Paper *Danger Will Robertson... Danger"). My guess is Rare Earth Metals would be a Great Investment. QED

(I understand there are daily products we use that have them and are almost unavoidable unless you become electronic free, which is already not good because of the source of a lot of them) I myself don’t plan on buying those and investing in children suffering so I can try to make a profit or even collect.
