It might be a bit difficult because if they show up at the event, the way our fandoms work, it basically becomes a coming out event even if they are not LGTBQ. This would become a problem later when inevitably most of them marry someone of the opposite sex or are seen dating someone of the opposite sex. The only way not to walk into this issue is to publically announce their sexuality, which for the vast majority of ships, would sink the ships. It's gotten better in the last few years, with some actresses saying up front what their sexuality is regardless of the role they are playing, but that is rare. It might have to be enough that they spend all their time portraying community positively.
