Awesome place to be with great, if not the lowest cost houses. A big price range for all kinds of budgets and not matter which house you get, the access to amenities is the same for everybody.
Hello! My fiancé and I watch your videos all the time! We’re from Seattle and still a few years out from retiring but plan on getting a home in the villages. Sally and I were wondering if you would do a little video more about yourselves? What you both do for a living? Where you grew up? How you met? And we’d even love to know what your parents did for a living etc. would that be possible? We just love learning about people and their lives. Thank you!!
Absolutely great video! Our top reasons were: (1) NO SNOW; (2) activity/entertainment options; (3) tax advantages; (4) the overall immaculate condition of The Villages; (5) being surrounded by generally "like minded" people that simply worked hard/saved/planned/etc.; and (6) sunshine/palm trees/weather.
I live in and LOVE The Village of Fenney - if looking to swim after dark- there are 4 pools that stay open until 11pm and all of them are in the historic area of The Villages- east of 441- Paradise, Hillside, Chula Vista and Southside.
My top 6 reasons for moving to TV……. 1. Clean, beautiful common areas 2. Golf car transportation 3. 3,500+ clubs and activities including any sport one could think of to play 4. Affordable housing with lots of options for every price range 5. Easy access to Indian Rocks Beach on the Gulf where we rent a studio apartment twice a year for our beach hit 6. More fun and friendly people than we can experience in a given day TV is truely a players paradise!!
The reason I moved to the north side of the Villages is because of the matured vegetation and , any and everything I want or to get there is by golf cart, beautiful trees, lots of little lakes and ponds most of all. I live right between Lake Sumter and Spanish Springs my favorite town squares, I never take my car out of the garage except run it around the block and back once a week. I take my golf cart everywhere if it’s not golf cart accessible I don’t go. I take the cart to the of course golf courses, VA, grocery shopping, restaurants with many to choose from. I use the boardwalk at Lake Sumter to do my 10,000 sets a day. I can’t imagine living anywhere else in my final years.
I have a lifestyle preview visit, 7 days, starting the 13th of October. I sure hope it lives up to your advanced billing. All your videos are so positive about the lifestyle there, looking forward to it. I'm a widower and looking for a change of scenery.
Thank you, Michael and Tiffany, for all the awesome videos that you have on your channel. My husband and I just finished a 4 day lifestyle preview on Tuesday wished we had done a 7 day. We were on the go the entire time and tried to get to some of the places you have highlighted. We loved the villages and have a 2 year plan but will try to make it sooner.
Always smiling and happy to share your knowledge and experience! If I moved to the Villages I would want to be your neighbor! Just all around great humans!
Disney is a great getaway for riding out hurricanes. We were at Port Orleans Riverside in the Alligator Bayou section when Ian came through in September of 2022. Could barely hear the torrential downpour outside and since the building is concrete it didn’t shake at all.
We do agree with your 6 reasons❤️We did a lifestyle visit to Ocala’s Top of the World & liked it a lot because of the prices. But when we visited TV after a Disney Cruise we knew we had found our place to live! Definitely living our best life here & we do travel 😎
Did a lifestyle and two separate visits over the past 3 months. House is for sale and waiting on lot releases in the Eastport area. Can’t wait. Thanks for your vids.
Thanks for sharing all those great adventures and pics, so much fun. Have you guys been to Naples yet? It is stunning. I went for the first time a year ago and will be going back next March. Can't wait! If you do go, be sure to take some time to enjoy Seed to Table. It's amazing!! And of course do a video :).
So from our villa in the Village of Santiago, it's 59 miles to Magic Kingdom. With bad traffic it took us over 2 hours to get there once but less than 90 minutes is average going to, and coming home in the evening it's about an hour and 15, not counting a bathroom stop at the Lake Okahumpka service Plaza. I love it up north of 466 and one reason is so my best stores including Hobby Lobby, the good Walmart, Ace, Publix and the Marshall's HomeGoods combo store are just a few nights away on 466. We've also got easy access to Spanish Springs and LSL, lots of golf and rec centers too. Although it's far from the new stuff.
Awesomeness! It really is a “Small World” (after all)! You will be here for a lifestyle visit or are you moving to TV mid September? Say hello if you see us out and about!
Great video. I really loved everything when I was there. Really could see us down there. My Mom loved it too. But she got FREAKED out by the prospect of hurricanes/storms/flooding. We did go to Disney when we were there and it was very convenient/easy to get there. Loved the golf carts. 2026 is my goal to be down in FL 😎
We just got back to Ca from our first week in the Villages. We hit several of the rec centers and a couple of activities, visited all of the town squares at one point. Sawgrass was smaller than we thought it would be, but still a nice place. I hit a few of the golf courses and only lost a handful of balls. We did hit Clearwater Beach as we wanted to visit a gulf coast beach, coming from Ca, the Atlantic beaches are similar to ours out here. That beach was well worth the drive to get there.. fluffy , soft white sand! Definitely planning another visit for next year as we are still a few years away from retiring. Thing to do... Kayak down the Weeki Wachi (sp?) Would love to see your take on it as it might be a new activity for you. We were too busy to fit it in this trip
Awesome! Glad you were able to get over Clearwater Beach and enjoy a lot of great experiences here at TV! Great suggestion. Will add kayaking to the list of experiences to go do, document and share. Thanks!
We're in HoF and love the Fenney Rec Center and nature trails. Went to Saluki recently and love all these is to do there! We'll be back in October so hopefully we'll run into y'all then. Thanks for your great shows!❤
Regarding moving South. My Villages sales agent said “Remember Central Parkway is master planned to be the North/South center of TV.” Just wait 20 years!
I have been in Fl for 24yrs, hurricanes are not the worst thing about Fl. Irma was the worst hurricane I've experienced we got 80mph sustained winds in central Fl . Irma covered the whole state you could not evacuate..........We tried but would have taken a week to come back home so we stayed.......
You two are so much fun that you get an old gal like me all fired up. Would love to have a snowbird home there, but we are going to have to find a long-term snowbird rental but cant wait x
I wasn't aware that there were Soooo many active, adult communities in FL. Can you share which ones were of interest to you early on in your search, please? I love everything that TV offers, but it appears to be too large for my hubby, and he wants nothing to do with it. I do like the idea of getting around via golf car and having some activities at my fingertips, but we do want it to be 55+. Considering StoneCreek. Please keep the videos coming. You guys seem so happy with one another, and sharing Life with us along the way.
After living with a poorly managed, resident run HOA in Clearwater/St. Pete for 13 years, moving to TV with our state overseen District Government is such a relief. No more worrying about mismanagement, fiscal irresponsibility and small thinking about the wellbeing of the community as we did previously. Our HOA fee for 1 pool and pool house when we left in 2016 was $219. The 2024 Amenity fee here is $195. Be careful with resident run HOAs. Good luck with your search.
There are many 55+ communities in Florida. Stone Creek, Top of the world, Stone Crest, Spruce Creek are a few around the Villages. The nice thing about TV is everything it offers in a fairly small area, the golf cart lifestyle and the beautifully manicured area in general. Once you choose an area in TV to live you will find shopping, restaurants, medical care very close and easy to get to. It seems overwhelming at first but once you are here you see it really is quite convenient to everything. A lifestyle visit might change hubbys mind😎Good luck in your search.
I see some other awesome folks have already left some great comments and suggestions below. Come for a lifestyle visit and see if it works for you both of you. We will do a video or 2 or 3 of other 55+ communities in Florida. Glad you are enjoying our videos. Thanks!
Hello Michael and Tiffany, I wouldn't ever think about going to Disney before a hurricane. Glad you decided to move to TV and I think they have everything set up so no one will have a problem with water. I also picked TV because I thought it would be safer and all the activities it has to offer as well as all the places to visit in less than two hours. Great video as usual, hope you both will have a fantastic week.
Disney World is a great and safe place to ride out a hurricane. Plus they offer Florida Resident and Annual Pass Holder discounts. Hope you are having a fantastic week too! Thanks!
Headed to MK today for my Birthday 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 it’ll only take 55 min to get there…that’s a win!! Hey y’all should do a meet and greet for your TV anniversary 😊
You might like to go to Universal in December during the weekends, they have Mannheim Streamroller playing during the first couple weekends in December. The theme park are nice during the holiday season. I currently live in Groveland but I am building in Stone Creek Ocala. I live close enough to TV that I go to Barnes and Nobles monthly in TV but the community is too big for my liking and taking a golf cart takes over an hour from one end to the other
If you visit Busch Gardens in Tampa, stop at the nearby Mel’s Hotdog shop. One of my favorites. Say Hi to Mel! Visit Disney’s Vero Beach Resort on the Atlantic coast. It is beautiful 🏖️

All the reasons you guys mentioned. I know I will have more when I get there.

Absolutely! Great suggestion. A little far away for a day trip but perfect for a mini 2 or 3 night getaway. Thanks!
My wife and I are renting in Lake Denham for September and October, while our house in Shadybrook is being finished. We started out looking to retire in Ft Myers or Punta Gorda, but changed our minds after hurricane Ian. In your travels you should try a ride on the Key West Express from Ft Myers Beach to Key West. Will do!!
No one ever addresses boating while living in the Villages. I would love to know where the closest place to rent boats for the day is.
Lake Harris, Lake Eustis are big boating lakes just north of Leesburg. Yes you can rent pontoons and boats there. 😊
We will look into that to share in a future video. Just checked and they have 3 Freedom Boat Club locations nearby at Lake Harris and Lake Eustis. Great suggestion!
Thanks! 👍
How many nights a week do you shut the laptop lid for work and "go out"? My wife and I are debating how many nights a week would we actually go to a town square for music, boozy bingo, or other events.
You missed TWO of the Best Reasons:
#1 the PEOPLE …
Everyone we’ve met in the Villages is NICE!
I don’t know what it is, but … doesn’t matter if you’re listening to music at the square or just hanging out at a rec center, the person sitting next to you will strike up a conversation and suddenly your new best friend. If you pull off the side of the road in your golf cart and stop, within minutes someone will stop by and ask if everything is all right. They say Disney is the happiest place on Earth; but I’d argue that the Villages is.
#2 it’s CLEAN & PRETTY
Everyone that comes to visit compliments the landscaping, along the roads, the flower beds at the roundabouts, everywhere! Every house’ yard is well maintained, no mailboxes, no dumpsters, no above ground utilities (except the high power lines), no trash. Immediately after a storm, crews were out picking up palm branches and debris.
And this is true ANYWHERE in the entire 60 sq miles that is the Villages.
Good stuff, as always, Michael 👍🏻
Look forward to your next video
Absolutely! Totally agree! Will make sure to include the next time we do a video on this topic! Hope you are having a great summer. Thanks!
Thank you guys for sharing. Love your videos
Glad you like them! Thanks!
How about Disney Springs? How far? We love it there. Thank you,
Anna Maria Island is the best beach!! 😊
It’s on our list of places to visit! Hopefully soon! Thanks!
