- Kerala Christians boast of a history and culture as old as Christianity. The roots of Christianity in India can actually be traced back to the origin of Christianity. St. Thomas, one of the Apostles of Christ, is believed to be the founder of the religion in India in CE 52.

" ഞാൻ (യേശു ) പോകാഞ്ഞാൽ കാര്യസ്ഥൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ വരുകയില്ല. ഞാൻ പോയാൽ അവ നെ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുത്തേക്‌ അയക്കും. അവൻ വന്നു പാപങ്ങളെ കുറിചും നീതിയെ കുറിചും ന്യായവിധിയെ കുറിചും (പര ലോകം) ലോകത്തിനു ബോധ്യപ്പെടുത്തും.” (യോഹ :16: 7-9) .:“ സത്യത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവു വരുമ്പോഴോ അവൻ നിങ്ങളെ സകല സത്യത്തിലേക്കും നയിക്കും. അവൻ സ്വന്തമായി സംസാരിക്കാതെ താൻ കേൾകുന്നത്‌ സംസാരിക്കുകയും വരുവാനുള്ളത്‌ നിങ്ങൾക്‌ അറിയിച്ച്‌ തരുകയും ചെയ്യും. അവൻ എനിക്കുള്ളതിൽ നിന്നും എടുത്ത്‌ നിങ്ങൾക്‌ അറിയിക്കുക വഴി എന്നെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തും ”(യോഹ- 16: 13-14).
ഇനി ഇതിൽ പറഞ്ഞ കാര്യങ്ങൾ പരിശോധിക്കാം.
1. തുടക്കത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞ വാക്യത്തിലെ “കാര്യസ്ഥൻ” എന്നു മലയാളം ബിബിളിൽ അർത്ഥം കൊടുത്തത്‌ ഗ്രീക്‌ ബിബിളിലെ “പാര ക്ലീറ്റോസ്‌ ”(parakletos) എന്ന വാക്കിനാണു. യഥാർത്ത ഗ്രീകിൽ ഈ വാക്കിന്റെ അർത്ഥം “സ്തുതിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവർ ” എന്നാണു. ഇത് അറബിയിലെ “മുഹമ്മെദ്‌” എന്ന വാക്കിന്റെ അതേ അർത്ഥത്തതിനോട്‌ യോജിച്ചു വരുന്നു. !!! . അപ്പോൾ യേശു പറഞ്ഞ ആ ഭാഗം നമുക്ക്‌ ഇങ്ങനെ വായിക്കാം :
“ ഞാൻ പോകാഞ്ഞാൽ "മുഹമ്മെദ്‌” നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുത്തേക്ക്‌ വരില്ല. ഞാൻ പോയാൽ അവനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുത്തേക്‌ അയക്കും “ !!!
2. "അവൻ (മുഹമ്മെദ്‌) പാപ ത്തെ കുറിച്ചും നീതിയെ കുറിച്ചും ന്യായ വിധിയെ (പരലൊകത്തെ) കുറിച്ചും ലോകത്തെ ബോധ്യപ്പെടുത്തും ”-.
3. അവൻ നിങ്ങളെ സകല സത്യത്തിലേക്കും നയിക്കും.“
4. യേശു പറഞ്ഞത് അദ്ദേഹം ഇവിടെ നിന്നും പോയതിനു ശേഷം മുഹമ്മദ് നബി വരും (കാര്യസ്ഥൻ) എന്നാണ് ....ഇത് പരിശുന്ധ ആത്മവിനെ കുറിച്ച് അല്ല കാരണം യേശു ക്രിസ്തു ഉള്ളപ്പോൾ തന്നെ പരിശുന്ധ ആത്മാവ് ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ട് ...☝️☝️☝️☝️☝🏼
5)ബൈബിൾ ഓൾഡ് ടെസ്റ്റ്മെന്റ് മുഹമ്മദ് നബിയുടെ പേര് അത് പോലെ എടുത്തു ഉച്ചരിക്കുന്നു chapter സോങ് ഓഫ് ശലോമോൻ. "(Song of Solomon 5:16) "ഹിക്കോഎം മുമതക്കിൽ വ കുല്ല മുഹമ്മദ് ഡിം " ( Hebrew))☝️☝️☝️

Clearly mentioned in the Bible, Gospel of Mark 2 : 13-17 -

17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
We can see many of these in St Paul's letters too.
If they not adopted they will never survive in India India is flourished by Rich culture from sanathanadharmma from more than 3000 years
As a St Thomas Christian, I take pride in the Coonan cross oath that stated "we native kerala Christians will not submit to European dominance in ecclesiastical and secular life of Culture".
The Europeans wanted to remove our rich Indian traditions and latinise the churches but we survived so did our rich kerala culture.
We Syrian Christians feel safest living in Kerala than any other Christian majority country.

We had recently seen honor killing of dalit Christian in Kottayam for marrying his girlfriend. My second point was, unlike minorities of Pakistan, minorities in India enjoys full rights and freedom. They even enjoy more rights than majority. This was my point. We are always thankful to Christians for their contributions in educational and medical field. Sorry, if I hurted you.

Nasranis are always a big part of Keralas history. They were the masters in spice trade and also in other things like Martial arts.
Never heard any association with Martial arts. Christians always stayed away from physical protection, attacks and stuff. Scripture itself says, if someone beats you on one cheek, show the other cheek as well. That is the reason why you won't see any Christian characters in Vadakkan Pattu and all the heroic folklore. Participation in arts also was taboo till recently. Dramas etc. were named as "verikoothu" prohibited in scripture.

What we call globalization today is something that happened in Kerala hundreds of years ago. I think that is what gives the unique broad outlook of all Keralites today, and their ability to live comfortably in any part of the world.

However historically the Syrian Christians of Kerala were ardently faithful to the Hindu Kingdoms they served. Syrian Christians, though found all throughout Kerala, were initially situated in the city states of Kodungallur and Kollam. In these kingdoms and their tributaries, the Syrian Christians played great roles as tax collectors, ministers, and soldiers to the Hindu Kings they served. Historical Hindu kingdoms in Kerala beloved the Syrian Christians, as well as other minorities like the Mappila Muslims and Cochin Jews because they served the purpose of further enriching the economies of these kingdoms. Perhaps in other parts of India religious tensions were turbulent but Kerala is unique in the fact that the Hindu Kings were always benevolent to their citizens of minority ethnic backgrounds.
all people in kerala are chera tamil people and lived there long before namboodiris brought their sanskrit, dominated the tamil chera people and corrupted the language. The nairs who are other caste people born to namboodiris try to hinder the restoration of the original language. The grace of God will restore the original language.

Koonan krishu was against forced latinisation of nasranis(who were eastern syrian or more specific east syriac rite liturgy under church of east) by Portuguese and it didn't create rites. Latin rites and other eastern rites were there since start of Christianity. Portuguese introduced Latin rite to Kerala and conversions to it started after than might be better explanation. But it looks like a blunder to say the event divided Christianity into these rites!!

1. തുടക്കത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞ വാക്യത്തിലെ “കാര്യസ്ഥൻ” എന്നു മലയാളം ബിബിളിൽ അർത്ഥം കൊടുത്തത്‌ ഗ്രീക്‌ ബിബിളിലെ “പാര ക്ലീറ്റോസ്‌ ”(parakletos) എന്ന വാക്കിനാണു. യഥാർത്ത ഗ്രീകിൽ ഈ വാക്കിന്റെ അർത്ഥം “സ്തുതിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവർ ” എന്നാണു. ഇത് അറബിയിലെ “മുഹമ്മെദ്‌” എന്ന വാക്കിന്റെ അതേ അർത്ഥത്തതിനോട്‌ യോജിച്ചു വരുന്നു. !!! . അപ്പോൾ യേശു പറഞ്ഞ ആ ഭാഗം നമുക്ക്‌ ഇങ്ങനെ വായിക്കാം :
“ ഞാൻ പോകാഞ്ഞാൽ "മുഹമ്മെദ്‌” നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുത്തേക്ക്‌ വരില്ല. ഞാൻ പോയാൽ അവനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുത്തേക്‌ അയക്കും “ !!!

After his resurrection Christ gave the great commission to his Apostles (including Thomas) to go out into the world and proclaim the Good News (the Gospel) to all the nations. Thomas obviously travelled the trade routes. It is reasonable to assume that Thomas started his ministry with the proclamation of the Messianic kingdom to Jews and then the natives.

St. Jerome in his writings mentions a deputation sent from India to Alexandria. This deputation requested Demetrius (127-232 AD), the bishop of Alexandria (Egypt), to send Clement of Alexandria (150 AD- 215 AD) to India. These writings point to a Christian community existing in the first and second centuries in Kerala (India). As per the traditions of the St. Thomas Christians, Thomas established seven churches in south India. Today there are above 4 million St. Thomas Christians belonging to various denominations (Syro-Malabar Catholic, Syro-Malankara Catholic, Syrian Orthodox, Jacobite, Mar Thoma Church etc) in South India. Cosmas the Monk was a Greek merchant from Alexandria of Egypt who wrote in his travelogue (Cosmas Indicopleustes ) about his travel to India in the 6th-century during the reign of emperor Justinian. In 522 AD, he visited the Malabar Coast (South India) and was the first traveller to mention Suriyani Christians in present-day Kerala in India. He wrote, "In the Island of Taprobane (Ceylon), there is a church of the Christians, and clerks and faithful. Likewise at Malé where the pepper grows; and in the town of Kalliana (Maharashtra). The present Day Kalyan where Comas used to rule, there is also a bishop consecrated in Persia."
The apocryphal Acts of Judas Thomas narrate Thomas, the Apostle, travelling to the court of Gondophares I, the Indo-Parthian ruler. From archeological findings in Taxila (Pakistan) Gondophares ruled from 19 to 46 AD. In the excavated Palace of Gondophores, the guide at the place point out, that in addition to Jain and Buddhist worship places in the area there is also a baptismal font which Thomas would have used for his conversions. This suggests the route Thomas would have taken from Jerusalem to Persia and finally into India through Taxila (Pakistan).

ഇനി ഇതിൽ പറഞ്ഞ കാര്യങ്ങൾ പരിശോധിക്കാം.
1. തുടക്കത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞ വാക്യത്തിലെ “കാര്യസ്ഥൻ” എന്നു മലയാളം ബിബിളിൽ അർത്ഥം കൊടുത്തത്‌ ഗ്രീക്‌ ബിബിളിലെ “പാര ക്ലീറ്റോസ്‌ ”(parakletos) എന്ന വാക്കിനാണു. യഥാർത്ത ഗ്രീകിൽ ഈ വാക്കിന്റെ അർത്ഥം “സ്തുതിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവർ ” എന്നാണു. ഇത് അറബിയിലെ “മുഹമ്മെദ്‌” എന്ന വാക്കിന്റെ അതേ അർത്ഥത്തതിനോട്‌ യോജിച്ചു വരുന്നു. !!! . അപ്പോൾ യേശു പറഞ്ഞ ആ ഭാഗം നമുക്ക്‌ ഇങ്ങനെ വായിക്കാം :

If the Syro Malabar faction had joined the Jacobite Syrian Church together with Archdeacon Thoma then that would have been the end of the East Syriac liturgy and heritage in Malankara.

Thus, latin influence has grown and you even adopted many of their roman catholic feast day like all saints day and christ the king. You only received autonomy after pope Leo the 13th realized how bad latinization was and banned it all together. Then making them separate from the latin rite and giving them their own hierarchy.

South Indians especially Tamils and Malayalis are welcoming...those days people had many gods even for each clan they had an god it was not an organized religion they were practising.even upto date Hinduism is not organized one...so it was to move to other faiths..they were inspired by Christianity and Islam in Kerala...to be very honest Christianity or Islam was spread rapidly due to the behaviour ( because the Arab moors (Muslims)and the Syrian nasranis (Christians) was very good to the indigenous people... they had very good friendly relationship... their concept of God and the way of life inspired them.. may be.. Christianity and Islam spread in Kerala in very calm and in a very good way with love.. unlike in north India where incident of forceful conversions happened 😄
The actual reason was, back when the early christian "converted" to christianity, it was not actually conversion. Back then christianity was not even a organized religion, it was some philosophies and all. We are talking about 1st century where christianity didnt even reached many parts of europe . It was under pope , christianity became an organized religion.

Kerala roots are not related to Francis Xavier or western Christians. The ancient Kerala Christians were not part of Catholic Church but part of Eastern churches. However, there were catholic inquisitions happened during Portuguese period (100-150 years) destruction of local churches/ seminaries/ documents & they killed priest & bishops etc. but Portugal lost and forced out of Kerala. 1. തുടക്കത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞ വാക്യത്തിലെ “കാര്യസ്ഥൻ” എന്നു മലയാളം ബിബിളിൽ അർത്ഥം കൊടുത്തത്‌ ഗ്രീക്‌ ബിബിളിലെ “പാര ക്ലീറ്റോസ്‌ ”(parakletos) എന്ന വാക്കിനാണു. യഥാർത്ത ഗ്രീകിൽ ഈ വാക്കിന്റെ അർത്ഥം “സ്തുതിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവർ ” എന്നാണു. ഇത് അറബിയിലെ “മുഹമ്മെദ്‌” എന്ന വാക്കിന്റെ അതേ അർത്ഥത്തതിനോട്‌ യോജിച്ചു വരുന്നു. !!! . അപ്പോൾ യേശു പറഞ്ഞ ആ ഭാഗം നമുക്ക്‌ ഇങ്ങനെ വായിക്കാം :
“ ഞാൻ പോകാഞ്ഞാൽ "മുഹമ്മെദ്‌” നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുത്തേക്ക്‌ വരില്ല. ഞാൻ പോയാൽ അവനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുത്തേക്‌ അയക്കും “ !!!
