@The RC Scotsman As far as I know it still inflicts damage through doors but it doesn't seem as effective and certainly doesn't leave bullet holes on the other side
Even on the original N64, I still use 1.2 Solitaire controls. Something about moving with the C-buttons and aiming with the analog stick just feels right to me on the original controller, even if the hands are swapped.
Yes!! This is the perfect configuration! I was playing it with the N64 controller and I was getting so dizzy but with the pro controller and this set up is the way to go.

This video is the proof that the modern gamer just doesn't know how to use an analog stick, this game's controls are one of the most precise I've ever experienced (alongside Super Mario 64 and other N64 titles), the way you play this game is by measuring how much of the analog stick you need to make the correct moves. Nowadays people seems to use analog sticks as if it were a D-Pad, you just push 100% to a direction and release it, people forget about that basic concept of "move slightly to make the character walk, move slight more and the character will run", this part here in 3:20 it's very clear the guy playing doesn't know how to use an analog stick and kept aiming as if it were a D-Pad, just tapping instead of actually measuring how much you have to push (that's the reason why the cursor is not locked to the center, it's supposed to indicate clearly the range of how much you're pushing the analog stick, but people just throw the stupid excuse of "oh it aged badly lol developers didn't know how to do things yet"). It's not all the player's fault tho since nowadays analog stick have decreased heavy in precision quality and doesn't match the same way an original N64 controller does (not even the Switch version of the N64 controller is 100% accurate)
@@lerp5555 Try swapping the dpad buttons with the x,y,a,b ones, it'll be just like the originals c-button, feels great. Basically, I have the left analog to move and turn, x,y,a,b to look up/down and strafe. I think it's as close to the original's controls as possible.
