  • Anthony Macri and Danny Dietrich combined for six wins and battled to the end for the Pennsylvania Speedweek title. Logan Schuchart showed up a stole some cash, and Troy Wagaman Jr. and others shined during the series. But the real star was the fans, and I tell you why on this edition of the SprintCarUnlimited 90 at 9.

Jeremy I will say this me and my buddy watch about 300 sprint car races a year. And we couldn’t wait for PA Speedweek we only got to one show because of work but we watched everyone on FLO and DV and the others threw your stream. Next year we are planning to go to all of them. PA Speedweek is everything to us hardcore fans. And I can honestly say the bigger the promoters make it the more it’s gonna make us fans wanna be at the track. Every morning we texted about the race last night and what was in store the next. To me PA Speedweek is just as important as Knoxville and I honestly enjoy Speedweek more. Hopefully this helps with your thoughts.

PA Speedweek is a special event each year for the racers and hard core fans. As an out of state race fan,I've dreamed of going to every race some year. It would be very expensive with hotel costs, gas and food costs, along with tickets. The upside is that, even with a couple of rain outs, you still get to see several races. PA race fans are the Best in the nation!

On a Hot Sunday night .... and we know a car count of 20 plus cars is a challenge. Selinsgrove easily got their biggest crowd. That's why Selinsgrove must stay on the Speedweek schedule. Jeremy thanks for the hard work.

Thank you for another insightful show. I thought Chad Trout's remarks about streaming on Friday night were not backed up by facts. Because of streaming, I have visited three tracks since 2020 that I would not have otherwise. I have now gone to Williams Grove, Attica, and Fremont. Port Royal, Husets, and Circle City are now on my bucket list.

It just comes out of nowhere. So many people continue to push that narrative with no actual evidence to back it up. Until tracks that have streaming actually release attendance numbers, there's no use speculating. The eye test works and most weeks its no different whether its on a platform or not.

It's a slippery slope. There is both good and bad with streaming under the subscription model ... especially when it comes to bad weather, weekly shows, etc.

@@SprintCarUnlimited Does it help drivers in their sales of merchandise? I bought merchandise from Ryan Timms and Tanner Holmes before I even saw them race live.

I was able to make 8 of the 10. It would be interesting to juggle the schedule next year. Maybe Port on a Friday and the Grove on a Saturday, and not always have Selinsgrove the last race where car counts are low. Perhaps put an open date in there in case of a rainout.

Friday is The Groves in Central Pa, it's just a tradition .

@@Reubenwray I get that, so let the Grove keep 1 Friday for the Mitch Smith memorial, and let Lincoln keep a Saturday for their Gobrecht Memorial, but other than that mix it up. I'm sure there are some that work Friday nights and can't ever get to the Grove.

I agree. I think Williams Grove needs to give up a Friday night and that all of the tracks need to give and take for the sake of variety in the PA Speedweek schedule. Selinsgrove should be given the opportunity to have a different night in the schedule rather than getting stuck with the final night. One more comment regarding Williams Grove(WG).....WG is no longer the best facility in Sprint Car racing here in Central PA. Port Royal is the new Sprint Car capital here in PA whether they like it or not. Let's face it, the management of WG has not made enough improvements in the facility to stay #1 whereas other facilities have and as a result WG has fallen behind.

@@blueliner_7inpa933 without the Woo races PR loses a lot of Clout. I love PR BTW and live 10 minutes from it. I don't think WG should get every Friday but it's just how it's been my whole 51 years.

@@blueliner_7inpa933 People talk about WG making improvements to the facility but the only thing I hear people complain about is the pits in the infield. I personally like the pits where they are because you can see some action that's not out on the track. (I like the technical side of the sport too) The infield pits is one thing that makes WG unique to me. Maybe it's possible to dig the pits out to lower it a few feet. I don't know if that's possible or not. The only improvements I would like to see at WG are maybe an upgrade to the PA system, and a scoring tower like Port Royal and Selinsgrove have.

Sort of a slow day in the sprint car world . Looks like the tin tops sucked all the oxygen out of the dirt racing room

Nah, not slow. I guess comparing it to the RTJ situation, sure. But I was really impressed with the crowds at PA Speedweek ... No invaders, no matter. It was good.

  • @geezer4962

Good to see most of the money staying in PA, not to the "invaders" for a change. I have heard from some fans that the local racing isn't promoted too much on the local TV channels, especially the local NBC channel WGAL. It's been said that WGAL covers nothing of the sprint cars.

There are rumblings that PA Speedweek may not be a thing come next year due to the high cost. Plus, there may not be that many cars after PA Speedweek until September due to the cost of parts, and even scarcity of parts for the lower budgetted teams.
Now, do I want to see that happen? Absolutely not! Do I believe it? Yes, and hopefully I'm wrong!
