Excellent video on how to use the Rabaconda! It is always great to be self sufficient for anything related to doing work on your bikes. This is really great!!
After the 5th set of tires… each use will be like putting a $100 bill in your pocket!
Wow, That was way better than I thought it was going to be. Definitely a game changer. Thank you Kyle!
Nice tool! Definitely on my wish list now.
I’ve done 5 changes now… KTM 890, Africa Twin, Tuareg, KTM 1190 and KTM 390. All were well.
Great tutorial Kyle. Jakob makes it look super easy after probably thousands of tire changes on it so I appreciate your real time showing how this works. …and showing that it is in fact easy to use. I purchased one after your last video and I email Jakob to let him know that your video was the deciding factor. Keep up the great work.
Fantastic!!! Thank you for your support. You will love it… it’s such a great tool.
Add me as a person that just purchased one of these tire changers with your video being the deciding factor. I hope it works well!
@@geneshaw1234 Awesome! You will love it! I’ve used it three times now and it’s getting easier and easier. Tonight is an Africa Twin tire change!
That thing is awesome, perfect tool for the moto garage. Thank you so much for sharing! I'm definitely getting one!!!
I love it! For a "first use" it was a bit rough but will be so easy after a couple installations. Needed for any garage where multiple bikes are present!
@@manybikes... yeah, it's a well thought out design, especially when you consider the portability and space saving aspect. Whilst not cheap, there's nothing on the market as good as the Rabaconda. This is destined to be a tool that will be sold for many years to come, because it's going to be hard to improve on. I've love to see it more affordably priced though.
Very nice Kyle. Congratulations
Thanks! It's a neat tool. Let me know when you need a change and we can make an evening of it... Pizza & Tires ;)
I hope I can do it myself as well and don't have to invent 2000 new curse words!!🤣🤣
Nelson Rigg might be a lil pricey but screw it you deserve it Kyle no bs. Thanks for sharing this video that in an hour or so you can have a new tire on your bike including tire removal, answer the phone maybe even take a piss...
I am pretty confident that the "time" can be cut significantly. For a "first time use" it went well. The second tire was super quick!
Like many of you...I get a lot of email ads from Rabaconda...I've been on the fence about getting one of these. Then the latest email mentioned Mr. Kyle Bradshaw...I've met Mr. Bradshaw and will testify that he is a nice, helpful and knowledgeable person! Him with his name on this Rababconda pushes me over the fence! I hope to see you at ADVfest at the end of July!
Thanks for the kind words. See you in Sturgis in July!!! Since this video I have used this Street Rabaconda to change 7 sets of tires. Less than an hour I can remove both wheels, set up the Rabaconda... change the tires, balance the wheels and put everything away. Just amazing! Thanks for your support.
Excellent presentation and I agree this is a game-changing tool (for the price, economy of garage floor space, and ability to change tires without risk of marring the wheel). Excellent!
100% the ease of use and portability is HUGE! Most tire changers take up the space of a refrigerator and take a fork lift or pallet jack to move… this is a fantastic piece from @rabaconda
@@manybikes Update. I just changed two sets of tires in the last few days and I'm getting the hang of it. Really great piece of equipment. Getting a lot better at keeping the tire where I want it on the rim.
Nice review of a great tool. Nobody cleans the tire in their changing videos, thank you. I also recently purchased Nelson Rigg Hurricane tank bag, 40l duffel and two 10l dry bags, great products. However one of the mounting straps was missing, not to worry they had a new set of straps out to me very quickly. Stellar customer service !
so was this the "street bike" version or the ADV version? Rabaconda site says ADV version not for cross spoke wheels....I admit...I'm a little confused...🤔
Arica Twin compatibility concerns
This will totally work on your Africa Twin. I am doing an AT installation next week. Stay tuned! This is the Street Bike version that can be used for anything! The "Adv" version is the dirt bike version and uses tire irons. This one is much better for nearly any bike / tire / wheel set-up with the right adapters.
Great presentation Kyle. A big thumbs up to the guy who supplied the lighting :)
Excellent video Kyle! You made it look easy, I'm sure with practice everyone can be that efficient changing tires. Always highly useful content. Thank you Kyle!
Thanks! 👍 This felt rough... but a couple more and it will me a 10 min. process from setup to tear down. Pretty RAD!
@@manybikes Do you have a link to the Weaver manual balancer please, looking online, I am only finding the machine type not the one that you used. thank you!
The stand I was using I purchased over 15 years ago... it's not made anymore, but this is the replacement: www.nomartirechanger.com/bl-pro-wh.html It is expensive but indestructible. I am pretty sure that this $60 unit would do the same job: amzn.to/40fRjDY If you are bored... Here is my NoMar video from the Way Back Machine: ua-cam.com/video/xmK-J9_Hczc/v-deo.html
@@manybikes Appreciate the time you took to find these others. I am probably more of the $60 version as much as I would use this tool. But as you said they should be balanced. Thank you Kyle.
There is nothing wrong with the $60 unit. That is probably what I paid for the one you saw in the video 15 years ago ;)
Thanks for slaving in the hot sun for our viewing pleasure... lol Looks like the Rabaconda would dramatically reduce the foul language coming from the garage when mounting tires with crazy stiff sidewalls. My neighbors thank you and Rabaconda!
👍
Totally!!! The bead tools help A LOT!!! The AX41 in this 130 size has really still sidewalls but nowhere nearly as stiff as the Dunlop TrailMax Mission! That’ll be a “Real Test”!!!
This is amazing. I have the older Adventure model.
This new model is fantastic. Just this morning did Tuareg installation and Thursday night an Africa Twin. Just amazing.
I might have to pick one up. I’ve been tempted but your demonstration made it look doable.
With multiple bikes it makes sense.
I look at it like the 6th set of tires will be FREE and every set thereafter will be like putting a $100 bill in my pocket. Pretty neat machine!
@@manybikes Especially with everything getting more expensive these days.
That's a heck of a machine. Good luck with the tire. I have about 3K on my front AX-41 and it's been amazing. My favorite front ADV tire ever. - Frank
The AX41 is my favorite tire! I have blown through 7 sets… 1500 to 2k each set. You are saying this set on the 390 Adv will be different?!
Smoothly and beautifully! I love that tire but I don't get to love it long before it is gone and a new tire is needed...
@@manybikes The lower power and weight seems to be adding longevity! I spent three days on the Smokey Mountain 500 in the rain last week, the AX-41 with 3K performed perfectly. - Frank
That puts to shame my bucket :) I wish i'd live closer so we can do the installation at your place. Good stuff Sir!
The good ol’ bucket does the trick, but this new tool makes it so easy! Have Changer, can travel. How far are you from CA?
Thanks for sharing Kyle, this seems to be a fantastic way to make changing tires a bit easier, I did however see that your knuckles and fingers were getting very close to hitting the axle bar when breaking the bead. I’m sure that wouldn’t be a good thing crushing a finger and trying to ride after that 😳 outside from that still a very impressive tool I must admit! 👍👍
Super impressive tool for sure! I hurt myself more trying to use side stands as bead breakers and my knees and elbows as tire iron holders! This is a welcomed addition to the garage!!!
Yes I can relate to that for sure! I wouldn’t mind getting one for myself actually, another trinket for the garage is always nice.
@@dennishartford1429 and such a useful tool that takes up very little space! Win! Win!
Pretty slick. Seems like it would pay for itself in only a few uses. I want one.🤣
Looks like that wheel.lock thingy might bend the spokes on a spoke wheel.
Maybe, if used incorrectly. I hold the tire with my hand which gives it a lot of stability. Not too much pressure is being put on the spokes.
Just ordered mine recently. Only thing that concerns me is when the tyre iron is hooked under the duck head and you start leveraging the tyre off the wheel, you can hear the tyre iron hit the rim which leads me to think you still have to be very careful not to scratch the rim. Would have been great if Rabaconda somehow had a plastic end covering for the tyre iron to reduce the risk of scratching the rim further.
The Rabaconda tire iron does come with a plastic sheath to cover it. I was not using it...
I did see that but the plastic part doesn’t cover the full iron from what I can see so the metal piece does sound like it will hit the rim?
Hy Kyle, thanks for the great video and showing all the steps including balancing, and yes I agree that Dual-sports (and Adv) tyres need to be ballanced. I went to a few shops where they refused doing it, because they thout it is not needed what a joke. I have one question though, Tyre manufacturers seem to put a dot on the tyre during manufacturing where the heavies point from that particular tyre is. The reason behind it is that you should place this oposite of the rims hevierst point (mostly the airinlet). While watching this video I did not see that you used this dot. does it not exist anymore, or does this methode does not work?
Thanks for watching! Tire balancing it very important. Most DOT tires should have dots, If they are not perfectly balanced. The Yellow dot is located at the heaviest point on the tire and a red dot is at the tire’s lightest point. The mechanic wound position and balance accordingly.
Thanks for the excellent vid. I'm really liking this machine, but unfortunately it cannot do solid disc wheels like on the rear of my Softail. Not sure if it can do spoked wheels either. Gonna go with a No- Mar I think.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. For spoked wheels it comes with a fabric wheel stopper. For the solid disc wheels, you will need to hold the wheel in place with a block. I did it last week and it worked well.
@@manybikes Really! That is good to hear. If you could tell me a little more about this block setup I would be very interested. Thank you.
@@BrewCityRider the only reason for the strap or peg is to keep the wheel from spinning as the tool is working. I put a wedge tire block under the right side of the tire (standing behind unit) and this allowed for the tire to remain in place as I ratcheted the tool.
Kyle, I have a standard Africa Twin what tubes would you recommend? I have hard time finding tubes for it. Heavy duty or standard tubes better?
Killer Kyle. I have the adv version and love it. This one looks amazing though…
Hi kyle great review mate really see the use for one of these tools swaping out tyres at the weeksnd or when the dry season is over !! Can i ask have you done a review of the new dunlop trailmax raids yet ??
Thanks 👍. No, I have not seen the Raid in person as of yet... but I an excited for it!
@@manybikes Im looking for a new 50/50 tyres because that's what I'm doing some light off roading it's gets hairy in a few little spots but it's fun so I was thinking of trying them or a set of the motoz rallz or the battleaxe ax41's I'm putting them on my r1200gs what would you recommend?? Have to say I've been waitching your review for a while now and I'm just watching the review on the motoz tyres now to see what the like when you reversed them !!
Thank you for your support. The issue I had with the DV the first time I reversed it was the fact I waited much longer than I should have. I have found that if I switch it every 1500 miles or so I get WAY more mileage and the tire does not "act as bad" when flipped. I have gotten 7k, 9k and over 12K out of my DV tires when rotated at reasonable wear marks. The AX41 is a fantastic tire set but they wear fast.
I watched this entire video to see your balance method 😆 but great video as always
Awesome! Thank you! The static balancer is fantastic, its from NoMar and I've been using it since 2005.
@@manybikes I have seen a few over the years and have always wondered what the strategy to using them is I might have to buy one for the next time I change tires 😆
@@mattbarrois8675 I do it differently today than before I used to spin it so it rotated 3x times before beginning to slow… do this 3x … if the same location is reached, then as weights. I was at MotoGP a few years back and learned from three techs that is not necessary. This current method has been used since. Super quick and easy.
@@manybikes thanks for the tips and tricks I appreciate all the work you do
Kyle, I figured you would have a Set-up like Weaver has to make it as easy as possible. You test tires constantly! Is this too labor intensive if you have the means?
This set-up is pretty amazing really. I've been doing it by hand for so long, this really is a great step. It has all of the same principles of a $2k pneumatic changer without the weight, size constraints or expense. I give it a thumbs up!
Have you ever used the No-mar tire changer? It looks like because the yellow thing and the other tools, yes. How would you compare the two of these products? . I have the NO-Mar
Funny you should ask... Here is my NoMar video from 14 Years Ago. The NoMar unit was FANTASTIC until it got stolen from my side yard. Loved it, but it was HEAVY! I had the hitch mounted unit as I wanted it to be portable. I did travel with it... and to mobile changes but it was not stealthy to say the least. This new Rabaconda unit is really portable and I like the duckhead portion over the NoMar bar. The Yellow Thing is a lifesaver! I just wish it wasn't so heavy as I'd like to take it on the trails with me. Both tools are fantastic. Just like I'd like to have a full K&L pneumatic unit too! But they are $3k and the size of a small refrigerator :)
man i can't belive how easily your bead set. I used my rabaconda for the first time yesterday and i couldnt get the bead on the rim. any tips?
Yes, it's simple once you get the technique down. Call me and I can listen to how you were attempting and I'll give you suggestions / tips. 209-596-2260
Hi Kyle, great video as usual! Is the kit you’re using the dirt bike version and not the street tire one?
Hi Kyle a little off topic, but I am struggling with fro t tire selection now tkc 80 are unobtaimium. Like a knobby front, have used anakee wild and liked it but don't want to mix radials. Have used ax41, motoz adv(terrible on hwy and wear), tkc 80(go to) 804. I usually use a E07+ or a motoz adv or rallz rear. I haven't tryed the dual venture front. Amyhow what would you recommend for a front that handles well on hwy and good off road , not to worried about noise? Appreciate all the work you put into tire reviews
Thanks Herb
@@manybikes thanks appreciate the info. I am in Canada so probably best to stick with a CA retailer
Great demo, but still too much of a pain for me. 25 bucks each at cycle gear is my non emergency mounting solution.
I’m on my 8th change since then. It’s so easy and quick. The best part is the bead breaker… so much time saved!
UA-cam put 8 commercials in this video .
Holy Crap! That is A LOT! There are typically 2 or three in a 15 minute program. Whew!
@@manybikes I think UA-cam hates me lol . Great video by the way . Thank you
Thank you, Kyle, for going through everything in such detail! It means the world to us!
My pleasure. Thanks for making a solid product that “just works!”
