Pretty good with pronunciation, better than most. I've only known of them a few years, and they're mostly responsible for my love of folk metal, and my love of the hurdy gurdy . There's been a significant amount of turnover but they continue to produce great music. Great reaction too! ( That low instrument is the hurdy gurdy played by the former female lead)
Really glad you got to these guys. Much as I love Nightwish, this is group I love the most. To be fair this is one of their heavier/ intense songs, but for sure one of my favourites. And many bonus points for getting the name of the band on point! I'd look at one of their current songs next to see where they are now - Aidus would be my choice - there are two official music videos, one the lyric video if you are interested to know what the are singing about and lyrics are core to the music, but I prefer the more cinematic, non lyric version.
I absolutely love Eluveitie. Been a big fan for yeas and they just get better. Very happy to see them on the channel. They can go from melt you face off to relaxing folk. Suggestions... Rebirth - female vocals from Fabienne. This is the song that made be sit up straight and declare that I was in love with the band Call OF The Mountains - This is their most catchy poppy song and features Anna (the previous female singer) Both female singers are amazing
I'm surprised you guys didn't react to Rebirth first- that's easily the most reacted to song by Eluveitie. I'm glad, because that means there's another song you absolutely must check out. Do it.
Rebirth is a great song of theirs, featuring their current clean vocalist and harpist, Fabienne. Their most recent songs Aidus and Exile of the Gods are excellent, too. They have a lot of variance in style of songs, softer pieces with all clean vocals and songs with an even mix.
Nice! I've made a couple of discoveries through your channel (plus your own band of course), and this feels like another one. I did know and like Eluvitie from years ago but for some reason haven't listened to them for ages, so thanks for reminding me of their great music. It was Japanese bands (e.g. Band-Maid, Sokoninaru, Gacharic Spin, Lovebites) that brought me here, but great to see you now exploring some folky stuff. While you're on that, I recommend Insomnia by Cellar Darling.
You mentioned expecting it to be more acoustic, being "folk metal", well you're in luck because they've released two fully acoustic albums (which are the ones mostly in Gaulish), two of the best known songs from those albums are Omnos and Epona
If you guys wanna hear something even faster and crazier and if you want more violence. Listen to havoc from them because when you thought those violins were quick, and the song that I'm explaining right now goes faster.
For metal with voilin, check out Ne Obliviscaris. Their most recommended song is And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope. Try the live version, it's phenomenal!
the start song old but great is a rose for epona official then song of the mountains now they have a new female singer and new band members so lots to cover
A lot of people forget that the celts heavily influence folklore amd metal all across Europe (wisps, druidism and being attached to nature etc). The Sami were very close to the celts historically and thats why some see the folllore as being so similar but also different as the Germanic influence if the norse and Romans kinda messed up the combining structure that broke down when the Roman empire collapsed. A lot of people talk about the cultures wiped out by the Romans (including the majority of Celts) but fewer speak about how the Romans would protect certain cultures byemploying them as mercenaries. One comment cannot come close to explaining this band or song though
Check out Rebirth and Aidus with their new female second vocalist. The female vocalist on this song, she had other songs where she could shine more then in King. She's amazing, but after she left, their new one is also a over the top perfect fit too this band. Love this peoples music a lot. Another band with an awesome male frontend growler is Amon Amarth. Check out their songs, it should not matter which one, but I personally love the song Shield Wall a lot.
Rebirth? It gives you a bit better production (probably in the way the individual instruments were recorded then mixed). And an absolutely killer riff/solo/solo/riff setup. Live : Sadly, their live videos don't have the massive crew/separate FOH pre-mix taps/post-work that you get from NW or Epica. But they are great live.
He wasn't even supposed to be their vocalist :) Chrigel the founder of the band, who plays...well...pretty much everything, anyway he was despondent about not being able to find a suitable vocalist, so one of the band members said to him at one point "well, why don't you try the vocals?" The rest is history.
Nice reaction, but just wish as a 1st reaction to a band that you didn't research so much beforehand including reading a bunch of comments for the video. Those can potentially shade your expectations and spoil some of the fun in discovering bands with somewhat unique elements.
Glad you discovered this phenomenal band. Try something more recent with more clean vocals, like Rebirth. ua-cam.com/video/d-pSq4MJmy8/v-deo.html Look up the new single Aidus, too, not many clean vocals but a lot of acoustic instruments. ua-cam.com/video/7nFc-oS7dv0/v-deo.html Live is a little bit complicated, but Deathwalker at Wacken ua-cam.com/video/i7WJdkdkwso/v-deo.html and Inis Mona at Summer Breeze ua-cam.com/video/d-pSq4MJmy8/v-deo.html are pretty close to perfect.
Eluveitie is the Premier League for folk metal. They stand far above, as much as complex composition as ancient folk knowledge and myths.
Rebirth (official video)
Aidus (official video)
Artio (live version)
Love Eluveitie! They are one of my favourite bands. I’ve seen them live twice and their performances are fantastic. Keep reacting to Eluveitie please!

12:25 You would be able to hear its a flute cuz seeing the singer pull out a flute from his flutesheat and go ham is such a hype live 😂
You guys should definitely explore the entire Helvetios album by this band, it is one of the best concept albums ever recorded.
agree uxelldounon is my favorite song on it just for the heaviness same with havoc and luxtos
I saw them live last winter and oh my god! They were spectacular!!!

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees, what i've been waiting for
a great old live song one of my favs is Eluvietie Quoth the raven live 2/7/12 by superskum feb10 2012 youtube
You should listen to Call of the Mountains. Sensational.
So, technically, what Chrigel was playing for the solo is a tin whistle, not a flute per se

another recommendation is ¨Inis Mona¨, a true classic of the band
REBIRTH is a great song from them.
You want the track they released with faun, Gwydeon .
Rebirth and Quoth Of The Raven by them next please.

Wow, educated people don’t see that on UA-cam much. Got to do a song from their current line up

Listen to Rebirth and Ategnatos next!!!!
something good from beautiful Switzerland, all great musicians 💥💥💥🤘🤘🤘🫶🇨🇭
