Last year I attended basketball camp and then later tried out for the school team but barely knew what any term meant, I looked like big doofus on the court but did good on 1v1 drills, for that reason I didn't make the team. I thought the corner was called the wing and the wing was called the elbow?

nope, the elbow is the end of the free-throw line ... some coaches however may call the wing the "free throw line extended" ... but wing is easier to say lol
