Excellent work, Joe! Thanks for including SeleniumBase in your list. I've been working hard on making it better every week. 2021 will show that Python frameworks can go head-to-head with JavaScript frameworks when it comes to end-to-end testing.
Great job, Joe. I'll definitely check out k6 for Performance Test work. Also, looks like I have some other things to check out as well. Stay safe and healthy in 2021.
Thank you Joe for presenting all top trend tools.Your grip about all tools were commendable. I saw you mentioned all web/api application testing tools. Just interested to know if there is any Desktop automation tool which is also in top trend in 2021.
Hi Muhammad desktop automation using open source tools is a little more tricky. I need to research this better (maybe make a video on desktop automation tools :)) but I would look at pywinauto (pywinauto.readthedocs.io/en/latest/index.html) , FlaUI github.com/FlaUI/FlaUI or Microsoft new RPA tool looks interesting flow.microsoft.com/en-us/robotic-process-automation/. What kind of desktop automation would you need to normally perform?
@@JoeColantonio Thank you so much for your reply. I am working with TestLeft its not opensource. I am using a Desktop application based on Delphi. I agreed with you Desktop Open Source tools are tricky. I really appreciated you have mentioned few here I will look into that but it would be great if any paid tool also be in this list.

Hi, @Tester 404 Actually forgot all about Selenide - I think it's a great solution and is underrated. I have some content around it here: testguild.com/selenide/ & testguild.com/podcast/meetup/m14-hima/
So these are all from Web testing? My company has a Java Swing app that they're switching to JavaFx - would like some advice on a good framework for that as my current one does not support JavaFx.
No desktop automation tools in the list? There are many firms out there still trying to do desktop automation in a manner that as effective as web automation.
Hi, @moe Yeah I probably should have called this video Browser-based Automation Testing tools. I do have an article on desktop automation tools I should make a video about as well: testguild.com/automation-tools-desktop/ any tools you recommended that aren't on my list?
@@JoeColantonio thanks for pointing me to the article. The list is comprehensive. I have used win application driver in the past but it’s not been the easiest of tool/ framework to build or find help for !
Last time I checked, Karate could not be used in conjunction with other tools like Selenium. Karate is a framework in itself. Neither I could integrate Selenium with it, nor call it as an api from other frameworks. So had to go with Rest Assured. Is it possible now?
As far as I know, Karate has a Selenium WebDriver adapter and also supports Playwright and Appium. . Here is an image of what is in karate-core: intuit.github.io/karate/karate-core/src/test/resources/karate-map.jpg
Hi @ansuman I could be wrong but I think that Playwright is MORE popular than Puppeteer or will eventually replace Puppeteer. Puppeteer is a great tool and popular but in 2020 I heard more about Playwright
And here is that other video I promised ua-cam.com/video/uEgJLLHBlZU/v-deo.html This one automatically organizes music album files into their respective and automatically created folder. And it does this for all the alubms. So amazing to see it execute and do it all automatically. Hopefully I have this walk through video for other users and anyone who is interested in Windows Automation. Let me know if you need any help with it.
Robot framework should be in this list
True - I was thinking of adding it but my video turned out longer than I wanted with the tools I did include :)
@@JoeColantonio Does that mean Robot Framework didn't make the cut to be included in the Top 11?
