- We've been asked to do this reaction probably since the first reaction we ever did of Max0r's videos, now we have played the game and also watched his summary on Act 1. Now we're truly gonna take a break from Ultrakill for a long time. Hope you enjoy the video!
Sorry if we didn't react to certain jokes and that we talked over Max0r a lot once again, we just didn't find this video as funny as some of the others ^-^; We didn't react to the other Ultrakill video since we don't wanna get Act 2 spoiled if we do return to the game, in case anybody is wondering. We haven't really decided yet if we're just gonna drop the Ultrakill playthrough or not.

I don't know if you realized, but the voice actor for Gabriel in the video is actually his official VA.
It's not like it's mentioned in literally every ultrakill video by this point, lol. It really feels like it's a race to say it first.

Yeah I think the only real hint that you can parry the punches is in the levels challenge (which just says “Parry a punch”), which most players aren’t going to see until they’ve already beaten the boss.
Though I think that was the point, cause I feel like most of the challenges are meant to drop hints about other stuff you can do in the level to encourage replayability, like 1-1’s being “Beat the level in 10 seconds” hinting at the secret exit in the first room, or 1-4’s “Don’t pick up any skulls hinting that you can just skip right past the opening and jump straight into the V2 fight. So 2-4’s is basically giving you an extra tip if you wanna get a better grade on that level by going “Hey you can parry those punches btw”. But again, that’s not something you’d know on your first impression.
TLDR, no shame for not knowing you could punch the punches, it’s not something a first time player would know, and the idea that they “should’ve known” is stupid.
Yeah, unless you are purposely attempting to parry every single enemy (all until that point except the streetcleaner can be parried[yes, this does mean the Cerberus can be parried via the apple it throws]) or just think “can I parry this giant dude”, you wouldn’t even bother to try parrying something the size of a skyscraper.

Yep, astonishingly you can pretty much parry almost anything in the game, through Feedbacker or Coin. Only figured out most of this after finishing the acts. Its definitely not something that should come second nature, but once I figured it out I would parry frequently. The cheer sound effect for the parry is golden XD

I hate to say this because i sound like a One Piece fan saying "it gets great at episode 500" but genuinely both the second part of ultrakill and the second part of maxor's summary of it are FAR better and crazier than the first, you have no idea. I've watched Maxor's second ultrakill video more times than like any other video ever.
And ACT 3 is probably gonna be even better when it releases.
Max0r's videos are all clearly very high effort and a labor of love, though having personally had to clean up after children copy-pasting his jokes to the Ultrakill wiki for the past year I admit my opinion on his Ultrakill videos has soured a lot. I wish content creators would be more responsible about making wiki vandalism jokes, but what can you do ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
I do hope you guys revisit Ultrakill sometime! I do think dropping the difficulty to Lenient will help a lot with y'all's enjoyment of the game, though setting it to Harmless like another commentator suggested is probably an overcorrection; Harmless difficulty is designed so that people who literally don't play video games can still enjoy it, Lenient won't smash your kneecaps but it's still got enough push-and-pull for y'all to not get bored ^^
Yeah, we have actually tried Harmless and it just felt insulting.. and boring with how slow it is 😅

edit: also, in terms of lore reasons, V1 has a hand that has kinetic energy converter. So, whenever you strike just right with V1's hand, it instantaneously absorbs and redirects any kinetic energy as well as using some of it to convert into physical matter aka healing you (the powerscaling in ULTRAKILL is insane, so that's the reason why a single attack's energy is enough to fully restore V1 physically)

@@misaamgremlinsI'll give you some tips, coming from a guy that spend 3 weeks to P rank sisyphus...
Try to practice in cybergrind, for me it really helped out. Just make sure to switch your weapons more and use their speciality more ofter.
That will do more damage, and will increase your style (it doesn't seem important, but with higher style, hard damage (gray bar on your health) depletes faster, which means you can kind of infinitely heal yourself by spamming a bunch of weapons.
I wanted to give you guys the most simplest advice, since everybody instantly expects you to do a deadcoin punch and even as somebody who has 1000 hours in the game i can see it being frustrating to new players lol!

@@misaamgremlins You could consider lowering the difficulty to harmless, you will have to go through act 1 again but now everything would be easier and it would help you relearn the basics of the game. And in any case, one piece of advice I have is to read what the terminals say (the yellow boxes at the beginning of each level, sometimes they are a different color), specifically the tips, the information on the enemies, and what each weapon does, it is really very useful. Oh, and read what the text boxes sometimes tell you during a level
