Ryuen’s mistake was believing that he’d already won, or will eventually win. Never underestimate your opponent; even if you know you’re a better fighter, you never know what they’re fully capable of. The fact that Ayanokoji said that the four of them was not enough to stop him, and that he was relaxed during the whole fight should’ve been enough to convince Ryuen that he’s outmatched. And to top it off, Ryuen truly experienced fear when he realized that Ayanokoji is a ruthless killing machine who doesn’t care about emotions.
Well done! The part of the song where it says "Ooh, I was born for greatness. Ooh, a legend in the making..." then u show flashbacks of Ayanokoji in the Whiteroom, is so good man. It gave me goosebumps!

No habrá tenido mega poderes falopa, ni chistes memorables como tampoco momentos tristes que lleguen al alma pero tanto el prota como la serie y la pelea final tuvieron epicidad, altura total frente a las circunstancias y un desenlace con el atrevimiento de romper con el molde de la remontada épica sobre la hora con lagrimitas en los ojos. Todo lo contrario, la pelea final fue un paseo satisfactorio de ver en donde el espectador nunca duda de la victoria de Ayanokoji, sino que, a contra corriente, haber hecho el último enfrentamiento sufrido y emotivo habría sido superfluo con lo mostrado del personaje como consecuencia de su frialdad característica.

Who does not want to wait for anime - welcome to the ranobe. It's very epic there. Especially year 2)
P.S. The anime gets cut a lot, for obvious reasons. Personally, I didn’t understand much about the logic of the protagonist. I had to read and I never regretted the time spent. Rewatching the anime for the second time already much more holistically perceived what was happening.
