I realized that most of the running videos I watch are UK creators (you, Ben, Phily, Welsh Runner, Aubrey) and hmmm maybe this means I need to move to the UK? The running culture there is so awesome.
@@ColeRunningThe UK has its flaws (every nation does…), but it’s nevertheless a beautiful, wonderful country, at least to visit. The food scene is top notch, with high quality examples of cuisines from around the world. The historical sites and museums as a whole are the best in the world, in terms of quality, quantity, breadth, and depth of subject matter. The climate is lovely, not too hot, not too cold (as a Canadian, my opinion might be out of step with the general consensus). The transportation system is usually excellent, as a tourist I’ve been able to get wherever I want to go reasonably quickly and easily without ever renting (“hiring”?) a car. The only thing I can’t really speak to is running - the only time that I visited the UK since I became a runner, my days were so jam packed all I could manage was a few quick runs at dawn in and around Canary Wharf and Limehouse before getting out for my planned activities.
This shows the importance of the taper and that you only need to run your absolute best on goal race day. Four full weeks to nail it, sub 67! 🤩C'mon Coleee!
Nice work Cole. Impressive time especially coming back after your injury. What an elite class of runners at that race too. Also thanks to the new vocabulary word.. here in the US we don't use the word "kip" -- gonna have to drop that on some people to see their reaction. You got some fun video of Ben as well. Glad to see the behind the scene things. Keep running hard.
Thank you sir. For me confidence is so important. I said to Ben that I reckon a less fit more confident runner could be a more fit less confident runner (depending on the fitness gap Ofc) in a race.
This was great Cole. Both in content and performance, even though you weren’t too happy with it. Remember this was a progress marker - as you said you didn’t taper. You’re doing fab and we all believe in you
@@ColeRunning Hey Cole, believe it’s Patella Tendonitis. Physio advised to just keep it rested and try managing it by including more recoveries and implementing cross training.
I am curious about Ben's black pillowy shoes. Not the running ones, but the slipper type ones he was stretching in. I bought some OOFOS but they don t suit me, just too big and clunky, so I am keeping an eye on recovery shoes
I raced a 5000 in Yate near Bristol on an exposed open track - wind was brutal. It definitely had an impact. I’m sure it affected conditions in Cardiff as well, although Bute park looked a little more protected?
Yeah for sure. Bute park was definitely more sheltered than most other places in that wind. Got a bit of side wind but for the most part it was alright!
I usually cook the pasta for about 2 minutes 30 seconds and boil the water in the kettle, it's quicker. But, then again, I'm only shooting for a sub 21 min 5k.
Great Vlog Cole…. maybe the fact you didn’t taper into the race made the difference that last K. Training for a half don’t forget and the A race is still to come!
It’s a tricky one for sure! I just try and think of the euphoria if it goes well. Think of how good it’ll feel with a PB etc… but certainly a tricky one to balance!
Great vlog mate, pleasure spending the weekend with you! Looking forward to the next one *cough* 2-0 *cough*
Ben you little slag
Was a proper great weekend. 2-0 is the most dangerous score line… you watch 3-2 on the cards… 🤪
Someone get Ben a glass of water to clear his throat please 😂
We do love to see JK’s favourite running youtuber on the cole running channel

The UK isn’t as great as it seems haha besides the tea cakes and crumpets 🤣 but the running community here is AMAZING

Welcome Backwards Cap Fans! I hope you enjoy today’s video of Cole’s Cooking.
Think he ran at the end or something as well.
Hahaha something like that haha

Thank you Steven!! Don’t tell my dad but you’re right! (He said the same 😉). Project Sub 67 is still on for sure!!!!

Fantastic vlog, Cole. Really enjoyed it. A great balance of race build up, footage, analysis (.....and all important humour!!).
Ah thanks Stephen I’m glad you enjoyed it! Had a great time away with Ben!

Thanks a lot Eddie - yep Kip, snooze, doze, all great words for a nap! Thanks for the support, me and Ben always have a laugh!
Love the collabs, the more the merrier.
Thanks for tuning in!
Great video as always mate. Solid solid race from you! Keep it up man
Thank you mate! 🙏🏻
You had a great race Cole! That last Km was the only thing that let you down. You can totally master that. Amazing run 💪💪
Thanks so much Christina! The last part of any race is always my problem!! Easily fixed with the right training 🙏🏻
Great race de-brief, keeping it real. Amazing how much of running is mental. Better luck next time

Thanks a lot! You’re so right. I need to be kinder to myself sometimes!

I have exactly the same at the end of the race! I am sure you can train it 💪
Thanks tim! We’ll find out!!
Came for the running, stayed for the cooking lessons!
And the coffee!! 😆🤣
Inspiring mate. Great vid.
Glad you enjoyed it mate :)
Great video mate! Can’t wait to get back into running once i’ve recovered from this injury
Thanks mate! What injury have you got? Hope the rehab is going well 🙏🏻

They were the North Face slippers I do believe. They’re very comfy if you can squeeze your feet into his tiny shoes! 🤣
You guys a super fit but I wouldn’t skip out on the healthy fish cakes for something a richer in protein!!!
More Cole and Ben colabs please ;)
Thanks James, we plan on it!!
That's what we like to hear! Tough luck on the race, you looked really strong. Get em next time :)
this is really giving me the old cole vlogs. love to see them back but also love the sub 67 series. so much content!!! #colearmy
Soooooo much more to come!!! Got some cool ideas in the pipeline!
Great video mate! Want to see you make PB, no problem keep your head high and cheers.... Lets gooo🔥
Thanks mate! All eyes on the GNR!!
woooo #colearmy you’ll get ben in the second half
Well done.
Thanks Steve mate!!

Haha the secret is in the pasta cooking time, Ben did it for 4 mins in the end!… don’t tell him I told you his secret!
Great Vlog Cole…. maybe the fact you didn’t taper into the race made the difference that last K. Training for a half don’t forget and the A race is still to come!
Too true mate. Half and 5K training are so different! A taper would’ve helped for sure but we live and we learn!
How does someone deal with the pressure of an important race.
2 deep breathes before you start

@@ColeRunning yeah it's weird cause you also don't want to overthink about it and then underperform.
Nice caption
Thank you
Three minutes?! Insanity!
It’s cos it’s fresh pasta mate :) dried pasta would need more haha
Awesome video can keep it up can you get me a team top and running singlet
