Old radiator is a 28in new are 34in some tucks in those models had the bigger so heads up to anyone looking into this before ordering radiator check your size by measuring or looks at bolt placements if the outside bolt holes are used with your current you have the 34in, if inners you have the 28in. You do have to have the ecm flashed/tuned for the fans to kick on at certain temp setting. You can run to 12 volt supply n have them run constant.
Jumpie no problem man just a few things I picked up on when doing mine, my truck had the 28 and Yukon the 34 so, I’d the experience of figuring it out. Figured I’d save someone the trouble, with a little knowledge I learned along the way doing two of these conversions. Great good video btw.
Bro can you tell me the parts number you got. I see different electric fans . I have a 2000 Chevy Tahoe . I want to upgrade to electric fans. And I already have the big radiator. Is the wire harness just plug and play like super easy to install?
If only you knew that those 2 wires with the crimped ends were suppose to go into the pcm 😂 you'll have 1 wire with a red spade connector somewhere in the harness that goes up to the AC compressor wire (dark green) that triggers the high speed on the fans
I have not done a conversion on the previous generation nor do I know if it fits but I do know they are super similar chassis’. A few measurements wouldnt hurt, I can help you with my measurements on instagram @jumpieyt
I had efans installed on my 04 suburban I didn't use no wire harness. It's straight hooked up to the fuse box. So that being said my fans run at full speed at all times
Ay bro I was having the same issue well I am my fans stay on I connected it to the green with white strip wire. So do I just connected it to another green wire?
I made another video going over this, I put it into the computer and worked good, it says where to put it in some of the files that Nelson performance provides
I have one of the fans (pass side) turning on high while the other is totally off when one signal wire is activated and when I activate the other wire both fans turn on low speed. Can't you just run the Relays ignition switch small wire to a 12v ignition like the HVAC, then when you turn key they come right on, and off when key is off? Or did you not like that idea, and prefer them to only come on when warm
Why? All he had to do is follow directions to all he needed to do was put the green wire into the blue slot pen I forgot what number and then the green slot into the blue I forgot what number and then have it tuned and that’s it it would’ve been easy as 123
hey bro i went on the harness website and it gives you a few options on what kind of harness you need can you please help me with what you chose specifically
shady05eddie well you can tune it, manual switch, and apparently you can also give direct power as well but I went and got it tuned. You can drive it there and make sure that the heater is on full blast
No lmfaoooooooooooooooooooo just wire the relate switch wire to a 12v ignition source you dont need to tune it lmfao. Thats only if u want it on at certain temp, I run mine 24-7
El Chino we put the blue one but I have never installed these and now that I’m looking it up, the green should go as well, my guess is that the wire I’m connected to is the one that goes in the greens place if you know what I mean
El Chino LMAO NO 😂 I happened to be unlucky enough for them to be in reverse and the relays went bad due to another issue I’m not aware of but Nelson performance sent new ones, up until that point they worked perfectly (in reverse tho lol)
Five hundred 20s apparently you can do it without a tune but I have no knowledge over that and just look for any tuners in your area, mine is jpp in the dfw area
iwuzheree yes, the reason to that is because the e fans will have to use the holes the old radiator used to thread in and the new radiator will be wider and with thread into the holes used for the clutch fan shroud I think lol
Bro i just did some research on that harness. The Nelson harness comes with two pins that you have to pin into the ecu and then you have ti get it tuned ti turn them on. You guys fucked up. That’s why it didn’t work . You guys did it the wrong way. You didn’t have to splice into those wires.
@@Jxmpie yeah but why splice it when you can have everything done OEM style all you Gotta do is get someone to tune it I think that’s a better way to do it instead of splicing onto your harness unless you don’t care about it and wanna do it that route but for a lot of people they don’t like splicing into the wires but I did see your other video and I’m glad you were able to fix it.

This comes to you direct from “Vatos Locos” garage. I like how he says “that’s not supposed to happen”.

Are these fans suppose to suck or blow towards the radiator?
Why did you change the fan is it because of your oil Transmission was heating up???
I changed it for space and improved cooling, I had no temp problems beforehand.

Wire harness would need a tune I believe but you can hardwire a switch and the fans sold out man, I’m sure you can find something similar, just oem

bro ... 2005 2006 only come with electric fans.. so if u order a fan for a 2003 04 u will be receiving a clutch fan
So I’m interested on doing this. What’s the difference between the pumps fan with electric fans?
I would have to say the main advantage is space! I also noticed I don’t reach high temperatures at all, so I would also say extra cooling.
