  • Alan Vega, one-half of the influential electronic proto-punk duo Suicide, passed away just three weeks ago. Five years ago, he and his musical partner Martin Rev performed at Moogfest in Asheville, North Carolina. Before Suicide’s show, they held a press conference with an image of synthesizer pioneer Bob Moog as the backdrop. They answered questions about recording their breakthrough 1977 album in one take, assimilating new technology, rediscovering old instruments, musical and artistic influences, and their recent work.

They are like Soft Cell but without a hit like Tainted Love. The Public hates you if you don’t have that one hit record! You’ve got to have that one hit or your considered nothing!
