Most traits are "the same" and don't offer special qualities IN THEORY, but it is also true that most X trait enemies share a common niche most of the time. For example, Reds are usually just enemies with a lot of raw power, mostly melee, and don't give you a significant debuff. Aliens are mostly enemies with a lot of range, and offer incredibly annoying debuffs. Blacks are mostly mega fast, attack super fast and strongly, have a lot of knockbacks, but have little health. Relics mostly Curse your units and have insane stats overall... etc. So, technically, the trait itself does nothing (except for Metal, Aku and Zombie), but most enemies in a trait share similar aspects. At the end of the day, it's all up to the unit itself
