I absolutely hate this piece of shit Canon printer. It never works when I need it. I'm going to the store right now to pick up a printer made by a different company. I never had any problems with the HP printer I had for 15 years. I don't know why I bothered with this Canon crap.
Yes I know I have a MG3620 and it's garbage. Have had it about 4 years and used it sparingly, 4 or 5 times a year. They should just call it their Disposable Printer...
Was just troubleshooting this today. I am going to add some clarity to the initial instruction which is critical and I have highlighted in bold for people: switch off the printer. Press and hold the stop button then also press and hold the power button at the same time, wait two to three seconds, THEN RELEASE ONLY THE FINGER YOU HAVE ON THE STOP BUTTON and then press the stop button 4 times! When this happens you will see the light flash once alternating between the power button and the error button as you press the stop button. Then the printer reboots. Happy days 😀😀
If this doesn't work try this, switch off the printer. Press and hold the stop button then also press and hold the power button, release and press the stop button 4 times!
Release which button first? I tried this and the error returned, then the printer will no longer start until I plug out and restart. Does not fix the problem. The cartrage is near new and it printed perfectly just before the error emerged. i believe this is preprogramed obsolecance by Canon as all their printers will give up critical errors without warning where all you can do is send to waste. They should not be allowed to supply poluting products like this?
@@anthonyrooney6430I'll explain: So you have to turn the printer off. Once the printer is off, press and hold the stop button (the red circle with the upside down triangle in it, if it's not red look for the upside down triangle) WITHOUT letting go and then stretch your fingers out and then press and hold the power button and keep your fingers pressed on both buttons until you see the printer turn on and is green. Stay like that for 2 or 3 seconds and if done correctly you'll see the green light stay stagnant and won't flash or make the ink and paper tray move, and once that happens THEN let go and press the stop button (that looks like an upside down triangle in a circle) 4 times. And just wait for your printer to reboot, and for it to move the trays inside it around. After that you shouldn't see any flashing lights at all. Unless you ran out of ink lol. Also in regards to the connection issue, if you've connected to your printer before and you've already set it up, you should be able to connect to it automatically as soon as it's on. So restart the printer, and then see if you can just print, so for example say you have a picture saved on your phone you want to print right? There should be a "share" option on both Android and Apple products. Apple's one looks like an upward blue arrow pointing up in a box, and Androids is an acute 3 line connecting to 3 dots. For accessing Apple's share button: Go to the the photos app on your phone, tap on the picture you want, tap again on the screen and look bottom left and it should be there. Tap on it and then scroll down with your fingers and there should say "Print" as one of your options, if it's not there then you need to scroll allll the way down to where you see "Edit Actions...", tap on it and look for where it says "Print", if it's there and its beside a green plus sign, its not added as a tool for you to use whenever you press the share button, so tap on the plus sign to add it as a tool you can access on your share roster of tools. And boom, you should just print from there and your printer should show up without even needing to connect to it via WiFi but instead as an Air Print option. Or you can just tap and hold on to the picture you want to print until it comes out of its placement and up higher into the screen and let go, and look on the left bottom and see where it says share? Yeah that's it right there. You can do it that way. Now both methods are actually needed because say you've pressed on a picture and wanna just look at it right? It's zoomed in so it would make sense to use option 1 because it's quicker than option 2 (the fast way) because of the situation you're in, you can just tap on the screen and you'll see the share button bottom left of the screen, and it'd be quicker doing that than coming out of the picture to hold on the picture and then select share again lol. You see what I mean? For Android: it's pretty much the same just I think the placement of the share button is different so look for 3 line connecting to 3 dots that look like an acute triangle pointing left, that's the share button, press on it and look for "Print" somewhere on your screen, press on it and boom, should be good to go haha. Well that's if you've set up everything beforehand with connectivity and all that. Unlike Apple the option to print should already be there and you shouldn't have to add it to your roster of tools. Hope this helps everyone!
Thank you. I tried it exactly how you showed in the video and right after I turned the printer back on it worked. However, unfortunately for ONE print only :( Do you have any idea what else it could be? Kind regards
I have followed your instructions but my cartridges seem to get stuck on the left hand side of the printer when I turnit back on again and starts flashing again. Any suggestions please.
THIS PRINTER IS THE WORST! I HAVEN’T OWNED IT LONG BUT ALL KINDS OF PROBLEMS (slow, blinking yellow light, printing outside of the margins, etc) STAY AWAY!
This printer does the most but produces poor results. Lots of noises. Wait a few moments more and the error light is still flashing even after tutorials?? Thank you anyway

Canon's website, search: 'troubleshooting MG3620 blinking lights' They have a list of error codes corresponding to how many times lights are blinking. List includes possible reasons for error. Best of luck ☘️

Same issue as mine. Don't know what to do now.
If this doesn’t help - try pressing either the black or color ink button after hitting print.
